Fun fact: I just bought a bird, and since it’s only his second day here, he’s pretty freaked out and hasn’t made much noise. This video with ari chirping made him start chirping for the first time Update: He is doing very well, and he is so funny! Even other bird owners have told me how random my bird is. He has random days where he’ll be weirdly distant from me and other days where he WILL NOT leave me alone. Overall I love him so much and am so happy I got him. Second Edit: We found it she’s a girl 😧

I've had my baby budgie for about 4 months now and we have gone so far relationship wise! I love rewatching these now that I know what having a bird is like. I also collect the feathers in a bag, they're nice keepsakes for when they pass on and you can make crafts with them. My budgie was clipped when we got her and her molted clipped feathers are especially sentimental since they represent her progress in flying and she'll never have those clipped feathers again. Edit: 6 months in, she's flying even better now! She's learned several tricks and is getting very good at stepping up. I love her to pieces

As a fellow bird owner, this is 100% accurate. Especially about what it takes to properly care for a parrot! Too many birds get rehomed because people just see how cute they are but aren't ready for the commitment. Owning a parrot is very different from having a cat or a dog. Please do your research! I have a 17yo cockatiel myself, had him since he was a baby! Love him to pieces but he's a lot of work and also a brat like Ari 😂

Same 2 budgies search "Indian bird market" And you probably know what a flight cage is yes even a big table-top cage is considered overprotective in India that's why I hate guests so when they come they are like "OoO wHy BiG cAgE FoR SmOl BirD!?!?!? and they annoy my birds and when my bird tries to stop them by biting they shoo my bird away and shake their hand IN front of my bird. (One yellow faced(Rainbow) budgie and a cinnamon budgie(Cloud)

I have a flight cage for a lovely 5-yr-old budgie called, you guessed it, Wally. he's a spoiled only bird, so he gets a lot of stuff. expensive pellets, which he doesn't eat unless he's in the mood and you hand-feed him, nice toys, a 200$ cage, ect. whoever calls budgies 'easy starter pets' is wrong. dead wrong. there's feathers, seed hulls, oat sprays, discarded pellets, and wood chips e v e r y w h e r e, he's loud, demanding, and a brat

Honestly Ari is super cute, I have a couple of wild crows near my house that keep coming by and talking with me, one of them learned to say "Hi", literally, a few years ago. She is getting older now but she brings her mate by and her babies and brings me little shiney rocks and I call her Morrigan. I love my friendly little crow family, they bark at my dogs and let me pet them. Edit: by bark at my dogs I mean they have literally learned to bark and talk with my border collie

Corvids are so smart and I love them! They recognise human faces, and even teach their kids the "good humans". They also don't really like shiny objects, but realise that humans like them and will bring them as gifts. So even Morrigan's children and grandchildren (and possibly great grandchildren) will know that you are one of the good humans :)

I feel my mom didn't choose her own Ari well, Greys have a long lifespan, and if cared well he'll outlive her. She assumed I'd watch him someday... then I got diagnosed with bird dander allergies. Now we aren't sure what will happen if her bird outlives her. He loves her though, she's his favorite. But that lifespan is definitely a huge consideration.
