"maybe the speed stat is just the reaction time and not actual speed" 🤓 Also don't act absolutely demolished just because a cool Pokemon is extremely slow, although it isn't the fastest, it still have some offensive /defensive uses in other areas like playthoughs

@@user-AADZ In Vikavolt’s case it kinda does tho… he has great Special Attack but no bulk to survive hits. If he was even a little faster then he could dish out good damage before he took too much, but he just gets destroyed before he can do anything

Vikavolt would have hit different if its speed stat was 143 instead, but alas, its from the gen where 70 base speed was considered absurdly fast.

@@k2_x376 43 is good in trick room yes. 60 is considered too fast for it, so any mon below 60 can work rather well under trick room. The issue after that is Vikavolt is weak to 2 very common offensive types (rock is everywhere due to the popularity of Rock Slide in doubles, and fire is also common due in part to the frequency of Amoongus [which has a base speed of 30] in doubles formats). Vikavolt is too squishy to consistently get itself set up and going because of its type and stat distribution. It hits nicely on the special side but slow glass canons are not common even for trick room teams due to their inconsistency.

Speeds a fun stat when you realise exactly what it means. To break earths atmosphere you need to travel at 25,020 mph which means Raquaza who we have seen fly off into space can go at least that fast. So anyone that matches or surpasses that can move at similar speeds. Miltank is faster. Miltank a literal cow has a top speed of over 30x the speed of sound.

Thats why i interpreted speed as the agility and how fast a pokemon can response and not exacly going to poing A to point B. Mega pidgeot is stated at mach2 ( using the 50 level as reference and no IVs or EVs) so thats 126 points on speed mach2 is 2470 kilometers aprox. So 1 point of speed is equal to 19.6 kilometers. Usain bolt is fucking 2 points of speed. A rhyhorn being 25 speed that is just shit is fucking running at 500 kilometers per hour. U can imagine that? So i use speed as how can they react

I like to think the speed contradictions can be attributed to how fast they can move in the battle area they're given and acceleration speed. There's flaws but it makes me not worry about it

Acceleration being a determiner actually does make sense with Vikavolt since it has Agility. It is capable of being a fast boi but needs to get a running start.
