I had an idea for a dark type gym... which would be more fitting for X/Y than Sun and Moon, but whatever. The gym would be inside an opera house of a big city. It'd be 7th gym in the game. You would start by taking a seat among the audience and, after a short announcement of what spectacle will be played, a trainer will sit down next to you and start a fight with Pokemon referencing a classical tale. These trainers would be: Lass with Cherim and Houndoom. - Red Riding Hood Baroness with Pawniard, Pyroar and Cacturne. - Wizard of Oz Baron with two Pignites, Grumpig and Mightyena. - Three Pigs and Wolf After defeating each one of them, you would gain access to the stage, where I'll be waiting right before the courtains. My Pokemon would be: Lvl. 43 Absol with Dark Pulse, Detect, Double Team and Slash. Lvl. 44 Weavile with Dark Pulse, Night Slash, Screech and Hone Claws. Lvl. 46 Zoroark with Dark Pulse, Embargo, Foul Play and Pursuit. After the trainer is victorious, he/she'll be given TM97 Dark Pulse and Art Badge, which depicts the drama symbol (two masks, one happy and the second one sad).I really took a lot of inspiration when designing the trainers from Karazhan in World of Warcraft, particularly the opera bosses.

I love that idea! Too bad Dark type moves are seen as "Playing dirty" and Dark types are seen as Evil (They're even called Evil type in Japanese!) so there'll probably never be a Dark type gym ;-;

Pretty unique ideas, definitely would make players remember your gym. I've always loved Poison-type pokemon and I think I'd want to be the first gym leader you battle. My gym would be an old rundown refinery. You'd have to solve a puzzle of lowering and raising catwalks while battling the Bikers, Cueballs, and Delinquents who hang out there (two solo and one double battle) armed w/ Grimers, Tentacools, and Stunkys. I would be hanging out at the fire stacks acting really tough and talking down to you. I fight w/ a lvl 10 Koffing with Toxic Spikes, Poison Gas, Tackle, & Venoshock; and a lvl 12 Seviper with Wrap, Bite, Lick, & Poison Tail. If there's a challenge mode: I'd fight with a lvl 12 Trubbish with Toxic Spikes, Spikes, Recycle, & Pound; a lvl 12 Koffing with Poison Gas, Assurance, Venoshock, & Psybeam; and a lvl 14 Seviper with Venoshock, Bite, Poison Tail, & Iron Tail After you beat me, I congratulate you with big smiles and expressions, I put on a tough guy act to deter any faint of heart upstarts from getting in over there heads, you see. I award you with the Yield Badge, which looks like a yield sign (no words) and the TM09: Venoshock And everytime you come back and chitchat w/ me, I give you a Soda heal item

I began watching Poke-videos on YT just a few days ago, looking at all the big Poke-KZbinrs. I have to say this is after like 50-70 videos definitely in my top 3-5 and by far the most wellthought and sophisticated approach to the "my gym" thing. Great work! :) (although of corse the team of the first trainer would feel a bit strange as a player since it has no water connection but i got your point)

I really like this idea; although gyms using specific types fits a bit better. But I've always fantasized the Elite four stepping things up and using specific strategies like your trick room team, double, triple, or rotation battles, status effects, weather, baton pass, etc.

So. I'm thinking for an ice type gym. I would be like the 8th gym. My gym would be high in the mountains which you would have to take a train to get to. After you arrive in the front of the gym, you're rival would already be there and then say," I already beat the gym leader and blah blah blah." After that you enter the gym and the person who always stands by the statues tells you that there are a total of 10 trainers to battle. Then he gives you a lemonade. After that you enter the next door into the actual gym. The gym is supposed to be like and icy palace, like the frozen one. So on the first floor it's like a city where there are stores and a Pokemon center. But in order to get to the second floor you have to battle a tag team of twins. One would have a snorunt,and a pilowswine. The other one would have glaceon, and a pilowswine. After you defeat them you go up the stairs into a hall of ice. 3 trainers are there and each one will have a level 50 glalie and you have to do a triple b

Battle. After that, you can find some items across the floor but they will be hidden. When you go up the stairs, two people wait there asking for a battle. Each one will have a level 50 abomasnow. After you defeat them, you go up the stairs and three people ask for a triple battle. One will have a level 55 dewong one will have a level 55 venilluxe and the other will have a level 55 glaceon. Once you defeat them you can go up the stairs and battle me in an ice hall. My Pokemon would be a level 50 cryogonal, level 50 abomasnow, level 55 glalie, level 55 froslass, level 55 glaceon, and a level 60 mamoswine. After you defeat me, I give you the elevation badge, cuz we're like, up in the mountains with a high elevation. Right? And then I give you the tm 14 blizzard. Then you can go back to the elevator to rest your Pokemon and then you can go around the mountain to go to the victory road.

My favorite type has been water for a long time now, but I figured a normal type gym would be nice to diversify things a little, and as two of my favorite Pokémon are normal types :) I would be a late-game gym so that I can use Mega-Evolution. My gym would certainly be a puzzle gym, as they constitute one of my favorite things in Pokémon :p I would certainly use a team composed of 1. Dodrio (Jolly - Early bird) @ Chesto Berry Brave bird/Return/Jump Kick/Rest 2. Cinccino (Adamant - Technician) @ Expert Belt Tail Slap/Rock Blast/Bullet Seed/U-Turn 3. Sawsbuck (Adamant - Sap Sipper) @Big Root Swords-Dance/Return/Horn-Leech/Baton Pass 4.Lopunny (Jolly - Limber) @Lopunnite Fake Out/Return/High Jump Kick/Ice Punch I would most definitely offer a badge that is designed after M-Lopunny and the Return TM :) In a rematch, I would certainly add a classic Chansey @ Eviolite Toxic set to and Pyroar to add some Special coverage.

We've seen a bit of this before. Elesa's team relied on Volt Switch a lot. Maybe if her team didn't have 2 Emolga it would've been a bit more apparent. Really the big thing is that doubles allows for a lot more strategy but we've only had 1 doubles gym leader.

My gym: Grass type 8th gym Torterra 52 Gogoat 55 Leafeon 57 Trevenant 58 Sceptile 60 (with a mega stone because why not) Gym layout: A dark woods what haves a maze of logs and you would go through them to try and get to the end. Once you get there the woods would open up to a field with many grass type Pokemon playing around and I would be there admiring them as I turn around to greet you.

I know its very late but I just saw your video which is very nice! Anyway here's my gym idea. My Gym Flying Type My gyms lay out would be a trampoline and rope swing maze. There would be 6 trainers but only 3 are set up where you have to battle them. My gym would be the 7th gym. All my Pokemon would be in the mid 40s. I would give you an option on how you want to battle. A regular battle where I'll have 5 mid 40 level Pokemon. The 5 Pokemon Lvl 42 Emolga- Volt Switch, Light Screen, Nuzzle, and Acrobatics. Lvl 42 Gliscor- U-Turn, Night Slash, Knock Off, and Acrobatics. Lvl 42 Crobat- Poison Fang, Swift, Confuse Ray, and Acrobatics. Lvl 44 Hawlucha- High Jump Kick, Roost, Bounce, and Flying Press. Lvl 46 Talonflame- Roost, Flame Charge, Razor Wind, and Acrobatics. After you get all 8 Badges you can come back and battle me again but it would be a sky battle. The Sky Battle Pokemon would be: Lvl 55 Dragonite- Fire Punch, Aqua Tail, Thunder Punch, and Dragon Claw. Lvl 57 Aerodactyl- Iron Head, Take Down, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang. If you couldn't tell the TM I'd give out is Acrobatics, and you would receive the Bounce Badge. Shaped like a spring and it's because of all the trampolines you had to go on to get to me.

That's a cool Gym design. I've been hoping that Nintendo would bring back the Colosseum games, and instead of normal Gyms focusing on Types, they should do special Gyms focusing on the different styles of battles (Double Battle, Triple Battle, Rotation Battles). A Trick Room Gym would be perfect.

I have an idea for my own gym that I would like to share. I would want to be the fifth or sixth gym leader, specializing in normal types. My gym would be a maze of sorts with several floors and many large patches of tall grass. In the grass, you will either find wild Spindas ranging from levels 30-35 that only know the moves Teeter Dance and Metronome or, very rarely, a Ditto, also ranging from levels 30-35. Some areas in the maze have hidden trap doors, which send you into a small, cellar-like room. Inside is a trainer in which you must defeat in order to receive the key to get out. Once you leave the room, you're placed back at the beginning of the floor in which you were on when you fell. There are a total of three of these floors, each floor getting progressively harder to navigate. Eventually, you'll face me on a battlefield with a monochrome color scheme. My team consists of: Smeargle (F) @ Focus Sash Ability: Own Tempo Level: 37 EVs: 248 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Spore - Stealth Rock - Spikes - Toxic Spikes Porygon2 @ Chople Berry Ability: Trace Level: 39 EVs: 244 HP / 248 SpA / 12 SpD / 4 Spe Quiet Nature IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe - Trick Room - Tri Attack - Psychic - Conversion 2 Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Immunity Level: 41 EVs: 248 HP / 248 Atk / 12 SpD Adamant Nature - Amnesia - Yawn - Body Slam - Crunch Ditto @ Life Orb Ability: Imposter Level: 39 EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Transform The team isn't meant to be too terribly difficult (still much more difficult than what you usually see, though), but it's supposed to teach about type coverage and how it's not always as simple as having a Pokémon with a typing advantage over your opponent. When I'm defeated, I'll hand you the White Badge, which is solid white in color and in the shape of a six-sided star, and I'll give you the TM for Tri Attack, because Tri Attack is badass.

My idea for a gym actually takes a twist from the normal gyms you see in the games. My gym typing would be Ice, and it would be the 8th gym. The gym would be on the hottest area of the game, which would be quite unexpected. The inside of the gym would have heavy duty air conditioning with different parts of the room being cooled by different thermostats. There would also be giant mounds of snow blocking the path. This problem would be solved by shutting down the air conditioning. Each time a Thermostat was turned up a trainer would confront you and say something along the lines of "Why are you doing this?" All the pokemon the player would fight are Ice types. This is where a twist comes in, as you turn off the air conditioning, the pokemon you fight will start off with less and less health. After the final trainer battle, all the snow will be cleared and you could challenge me. Though my pokemon will be at full health. They will consist of a Lapras, Beartic, Abomasnow, Alolan Ninetails, Glaceon, and Avalugg. Their levels will range from the upper 60's to lower 80's. Lapras, Beartic, and Abomasnow will know Sheer Cold. As the fight continues I will beg the player to stop. If and When I am beaten, I will tell the player "Is this what you wanted? How can someone be so cruel? Those creatures you have aren't weapons, so why do you use them like they are?! You want the badge? Here! Take it! And now you probably expect to get some reward out of it too? Another weapon for your arsenal, the war's been long over... I don't see why a ten year old believes he/she needs so much power." I would then give them the Frozen Badge, and the move Sheer Cold. The Frozen Badge would be crafted out of never-melting ice so it would always be cold. After this dialogue, I would run out of the room. From then I could be found in the pokemon center, sitting on the bench as if waiting. If the player came up to talk to me, I would yell for them to go away. After the Elite four are beaten, I would continue to remain at the pokemon center, but there would be a new gym leader available for rematch. This new leader would be even stronger, but would not contain the move Sheer Cold. The idea behind this is to invoke emotion in the player. It actually contrasts previous games where someone would tell the player that they could see the friendship between them and their pokemon. This actually puts the player in the position the rivals used to be, where they were focused on power and becoming stronger.

My Gym would be Psychic. I would probably be the 8th gym. When you enter in, there's nothing in it. Just an empty gym. But when you take 2 steps forward, a text box will pop up saying *"Woah!"* and then the gym will have no ground except for the platform you're on, then the room will have pink fog everywhere. There will be multiple other platforms you have to jump on and battle trainers with. But before you can move again, another text box comes up and says *"The gym got weird!"* Then when you get to me, I say *"Hey! So what'd you think? You thought it was gonna to be that simple? You should've seen the look on your face! Well, I'm the Lambda City Gym Leader. Do you think you have what it takes to beat a Psychic typing?"* And then the battle finally begins. My Pokémon team will consist of 5 Pokémon: 1. Espeon 2. Alakazam 3. Mr. Mime 4. Xatu 5. Gardevoir. When you beat me, I say *"Heh, I lost."* (You earned 14,000 PokeBucks) *"Congrats on beating me. You must be pretty courageous. Welp, Guess I gotta give you this badge, then."* The badge will be called the *Cosmic Badge*

My gym would be focused around ice typing and the concept would be dog sled races! (beartics in the pokemon world). The challenger would race around the track battling trainers while riding a beartic sled. Trainers would have teams consisting of sneasels, snorunts, and cubchoos. The challenger would meet me in the middle and battle my team consisting of a Weavile, Beartic, Aurorus, Lapras, and my ace, a Froslass :). I would most likely be 7th or 8th giving people the tm for ice beam

I have an amazing pokemon gym Idea this gym will focus on duo battles and "helping" eachother. This team would obviously be a normal type gym... and while normal is a strange gym typing this gym unlike most gyms will be a duo battle kind of gym... the gym leader will have 6 pokemon and will all be normal types except for azumaril because azumaril is just the obvious evolution of azurill. Each member of this team will have helping hand. the team would consist of eevee, Audino, Stoutland, Furret, Cinccino, and Azumaril... The design of the gym will be similar to the design of the petruvian man or at least from the chest up. The player will ultimately enter from where the chest bone is and at the two areas where the nipples will be there are two trainers and each trainer will carry one pokemon to the right and left of these trainers will be the arms... the first set of arms extend directly outward.... both arms will have one trainer with two pokemon guarding a button that will unlock a door to another arm these arms will be diagnal to the first set of arms in an upward/diagnol position... following these arms will lead to a second set of trainers and a second button on each side this time each trainer will be carrying 4 pokemon... upon defeating these trainers and presssing their respective button will unlock the third set of door this time directly above the first two trainers so arms extended completely upward... at the end of each of these arms will be a third set of buttons pressing these buttons will open the doors to the head portion of this gym and the pokemon leader who will have the set of pokemon i described and the dual battle dealio each set of trainers will respectively have different normal pokemon and the pokemon trainer one set has would compliment the second trainers pokemon or will at least be a different generation of essecially the same pokemon or equivalent pokemon..... so.... yah.... it would be cool

Mine would be either Flying, Water, or Fighting. Flying: You'd go in to see a large, high-roofed room. You get a quick view of the room so that you see that, when you look up, the rooms all take up half of the space and the rest is air. The next level can only be reached by Flying Pokemon. You must go up to the first trainer and challenge them. The trainer would have a Skarmory and a Hawlucha. After beating the trainer, you would see a cutscene in which the Skarmory flies you up to the next level and then swoops back down to its trainer. The trainer on the next level would have a Pidgeot and a Volcorona. After defeating the trainer, you see another cutscene in which Pidgeot flies you up. There would be one final trainer who would have a double battle with you and use Fearow, Pelipper, Flygon, and Staraptor. Afer defeating the trainer, the Fearow flies you up. Before it flies back down, it looks at you and the cry for Fearow plays as it flaps its wings at you. After a few seconds of flapping it's wings, it calms down and nods to you and you challenge me, the gym leader. I would battle using a Venomoth, Fearow, Dodrio, and Swellow. I would be the final gym leader and be very strong. Water: Ehhh I'll work on this some other time Fighting: I'll work on the layout later, but I'd battle using a Scrafty, Machamp, Mienshao, Medicham, and Lopunny. If I were part of the Elite Four, I'd be mega-evolving my Lopunny.

My gym layout: It would pretty much be like that corridor game in Mario party, where you have to go through a door and hope you don't run into monsters or a dead end. By each hallway you successfully get right, you'll have to fight a trainer. And you fight a trainer if you fail the corridor, or if you find a dead end. If you encounter the 'Monsters', you'll have to fight a wild Pokemon, Ranging from: Misdreavus, Dusclops, Or Lampent. All at levels thirty - thirty five. My appearance: A sort of phantom-magician combination, with a color scheme of light purple, dark purple, and magenta. Maybe a bit of pale blue. My team: A Chandelure- Level: Forty five. Item: Rock helmet or Air balloon Ability: Flame body. Move set: Flamethrower Confuse Ray Hex Energy ball An AegiSlash- Level: Forty Six. Ability: Stance Change Item: Spooky plate or Iron plate Move set: Swords dance Secret sword King's shield Shadow sneak And for my trump card... A Mismagius- Level: Forty nine. my gym would be a psychic type gym that is the 4th in the game, it would have 6 rooms, entrance, weather room, trick room, status room, stats room, and my room. the entrance is self explanitory it is kinda like a lobby for a resort hotel where if you talk to the receptionist you can either buy a room or challenge the gym, the stat room would be first it would have you battle two youngsters in a double battle, they would have slowpoke and mr. mime that would use stat buffing and lowering moves to try to beat you, then you go to the status room where you face a lass who uses inkay and eggxecute to parafuze you, next you go to the weather room that has two trainers, an ace trainer that uses snover with snow warning and frosslass with snow cloak he uses hail next up is a psychic that uses vulpix with drought and a an eggxecutor with chloriphyll he uses harsh sunlight, next up is the trick room it has a double battle of two psychics that use slowbro, slowking, and duosion with trick room. And finally you have my room that is like a luxury hotel room that has a purple diamond shaped carpet with the the battle logo on it I am sleeping in my bed and when you speak to me you wake me up and I battle you using Slowking; lv 31; water/psychic yawn, water pulse, psychic, amnesia metang; lv. 33; steel/psychic meteor mash, psychic, amnesia, confusion Gardevoir; lv.37; psychic/fairy holding a Kasib berry (halfes damage from super effective ghost type moves) dazzling gleam, thunderbolt,focus blast,psychic if you beat me you get the strategy badge and the TM for psychic, every pokemon in the gym except for vulpix, snover, frosslass, and eggxecutor have psychic in their moveset thats my gym

I would have a fire type gym. I have always been a sucker for fire types. My Pokemon team would consist of 4. Those are Houndoom, Arcanine, Rapidash and Infernape (Not in that order). You will have to go through 3 gym trainers with fire types (of course). once you defeat them you go to me and once you beat me I will give the TM Flamethrower and the Volcano badge. That will be my gym

I really like the idea but when only 1 in 6 of the gym trainers pokemon is water type and with the sideways waterfalls/warp pads etc (which makes me think psychic - which has the same number of pokemon in gym trainers as the theme) its more than a bit of a stretch to describe it as a water gym. Idea is still awesome tho

My gym would have Grass Type pokemon but the focus of it would be teamwork, the design of my gym would have tons of kelp the closer you get to me with Palm trees and sand at the beginning, you walk across the kelp to get towards and past each trainer, my gym would have 4 trainers in total which are in double battles, the first 2 trainers will use Venasoaur, Leafeon, Lilligant, and Pumpkaboo with Lilligant and Leafeon focusing on status effects and defense and Venasoaur and Pumpkaboo focusing on attacks. The next 2 trainers will have Chesnaught, Simisage, Cradily, and Phantump, Phantump and Cradily will focus on defense and Chesnaught and Simisage focus on offense. Afterwards you finally face the gym leader, ME, my team will consist of Ferratorn, Exeggutor, Shiftry and Tropius, Exeggutor and Tropuis will focus on defense and Ferratorn and Shiftry will focus on offense, Exeggutor will have Trick Room and only uses it if it is out on the field along side Ferratorn, My Badge would be known as the mutualism badge designed to show a bit of sunlight shining on a palm tree and kelp, this shows how living things assist each other, much like my battle style, my TM would be Solar Beam also a reference to mutualism (BTW My gym would be number 6)

Ermm, I guess if i could make a gym it would probobaly be a psychc type gym, Playing with optical illusions( aka paths that do not actually line up will from certain perspectives, you will have to flip switches to spin platforms guarded by trainers to get these optical illusions to work however there are pathes that could have you avoid some of the trainers.Regardless when you arrive at a telepor pad that teleports you into my room, and you are then free to challenge me, most likley 6th or 7th gym 1. If I were a pokémon gym leader, My gym would be a double battle with me and my sister. I would be the 7th gym leader. I would use water types and my sister would use electric types. The two gym trainers are twins before you battle them they say "We're siblings just like the gym leaders." They would have a Lvl 30 Kingler with Bubble Beam, Mud Shot, Metal Claw, Stomp. And a Lvl 30 Dedenne with Parabolic Charge, Volt Switch, Rest, Thunder Wave. Then you battle us. I have a Lvl 35 Poliwrath with Brick Break, Scald, Earthquake, Psychic. And a Lvl 38 Quagsire with Scald, Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Blizzard. My sister has a Lvl 35 Emolga with Aerial Ace, Acrobatics, U-turn, Thunder. And a Lvl 38 Jolteon with Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Thunder, Shadow Ball. And when you beat us you get the Sibling Badge and two TMs Thunder and Scald.

I would have a bug gym in a rainforest. The gym itself is a bug zoo surrounded by fog and a tailwind is blown behind your team always. My badge the puzzle is to Catch 25 Bug Pokémon with free Net balls I give you. The badge is the Pollen Badge. My team is Ninjask, Shedinja, Scolopede, Galvantula, Escaviler, and Armoldo as my dynamax Pokémon with a dynamax level of 10. The gym is the 8th gym in my fan made South American region called Tropiconia. I would give you the move Fell Stinger and 25 free Net balls as a extra reward for conquering my Bug Gym Zoo.

I would be the last gym leader. My gyms gimmick would be double battles against a trainer who uses Pokemon with clashing types. One trainer would have fire and ice, one with psychic and fighting, one with dark and fairy. Each trainer has there own room with there own puzzle (like ice blocks you have to melt with a lantern to get through or a boxing ring where you must answer a question in a certain amount of time or else you will have to fight a random psychic or fighting type.) Iwould use ground and flying so you could really only beat me with an ice type. If you do beat me you get the reverse badge which is in the shape of a mountain with wings and two TMs. One will be for earthquake and the other is one I made up called sky flare (it's a flying type earthquake that doesn't hit the other Pokemon on your side in double or triple battles)

my fairy gym would be based on pokemon that have either had a fairy type added or there type changed completely this would be the 5th gym of the region. the gym would double as a pokemon research center when you enter threre will be scientist that explain to you all about the fairy type and how that all of our previous thoughts on some pokemon have changed with professor jamie (the gym leaders) discovery he will then tell you about the gym puzzle which is a memory test like quiz once you are ready he will tell you some info about the fairy type and certain pokemon that it has affected and other general info about fairy types. once he has finished. you will begin by talking to the first trainer who will ask you a question about fairy types that you have just learned about from the scientist who greeted you if you get the question right you may pass if you get it wrong you will battle the trainer. repeat this process for all the trainers until you reach me. after a quick exchange the battle will begin. my team LV 38 mr. mime LV 40 clefable LV 41 azumarill LV 44 mega gardevoir once defeated i will award the tm for dazzling gleam and the discovery badge

My Pokemon Gym would have a fire type, water type, and grass type, And it would be like a regular gym, but with diffrent floors. Floor 1: fire types Floor 2: water type Floor 3: grass type Floor 4: Me. With all the types of the gym and... fighting and dark types. As my place for the gym, it would be the 8th or 9th gym, ready for the Elite 4. And one of each type... yep, 5 pokemon. and my Pokemon would be around level 48-56. And it resembles... all the diffrent pokemon types (though not all of them). And my badge... It would be the 5 Type Badge and have the color that resembles the types aginst me.
