I've thought a lot about this myself, and I think I would have a canine themed gym. The gym itself would be set up like a dog pound, where you have to use switches to get through the gates to get to me. If you get the switch correctly, you'll be confronted by a member of the "staff", and they'll tell you you're entering an employee only area, and proceed to battle you with some sort of canine Pokémon. If you hit the incorrect switch, you open a cage, and a dog Pokémon is released and will attack you, to which you must battle and *defeat it to move on. 3 different gates to get through, all of which can release Granbull, Furfrou, and Stoutland. The first trainer will have Poochyena, the second will have Electrike and Zoroark, and the last trainer will have a Boltund, Midnight Lycanroc, and Lucario. Once all are defeated, you will face me, the top dog (pun definitely intended), the dog catcher. My team will consist of Manectric, Theivul, Arcanine, Midday Lycanroc, Mega Houndoom, and my ace, Mightyena. (Why is the mega not my ace? Because shut up Mightyenas my favorite lol.) Yes, I understand how easily bodied my gym gets by a good ground or fighting type, but hey, it was fun to make.

I wouldn't be a gym leader. I'd be the third elite four member with the types psychic, fairy, and water. In the initial battle with me, it would be doubles with my team consisting of Pelipper, Primarina, Alcremie, and G-max Hatterene. When I participate in a tournament in Galar or Unova, my battle would be singles with Indeedee (F), Alakazam, Primarina, Sylveon, and G-max Hatterene in Galar and in Unova it would be Pelipper, Samurott, Espeon, Alakazam, and Mega Altaria as dynamax isn't available in that region since Chairman Rose doesn't have a branch of his company there (assuming since Galar is so far away from the other regions according to Honey in the Isle of Armor). If I were in a multi battle, I'd be partnered with Caitlin of the Unova elite four and she would have her Gothitelle and a Mega Gardevoir (because why not) and I'd have Espeon and Alakazam. I know this sounds a little weird but come on who wouldn't wanna participate in a Galar tournament and a Unova tournament.

I really like how you didn't go for a "this is my type, my Pokémon are this type, my gym is designed after this type" and instead went for a more creative route, that corresponds to you as a person and represents what you love as a theme, rather than a "type".

If I was a gym leader it would go something like this. I would be a poison type gun leader with these Pokémon. 1. Drapion 2. Crobat 3. Toxicroak 4. Originally Dragalge was here but I'm replacing him with Gengar 5. Galarian Weezing 6. Gmax Garbodor (Movesets will be in the replies). My theme would probably be about navigating through gas (with a gas mask to represent the gas mask used in the world wars in Britain as I'm studying to be a history teacher when I eventually leave school and the first world war is now a huge event we spend a lot of time studying here in England, which is were the gas mask first saw use). And battling trainers to reveal the way forward eventually making it to my arena where it's revealed the toxic gas was just a couple of Galarian Weezings using poison gas, then we battle. The badge would be called the pollution badge. Also just had an amazing idea for a gym just now I'll explain it in the replies in a bit after I wake up.

I'd probably have a similar idea to Ron's but with the performing arts instead. Though otherwise it would probably be a fire gym and my ace is either Houndoom or Delphox since dark and psychic are my 2nd and 3rd favorite types after fire. The mixed team would probably be: Gigantamax Toxtricity (not much of a punk person though much of the music I like does have it's origins from hardcore/crust punk specifically like thrash metal and metalcore) Obstagoon (Because well I'm a metalhead) Primarina (My favorite starter) Mr. Rime (I'd rather it Mr. Mime but I might as well be consistent and put the Gen 8 version here) Incineroar (not too big on wrestling though since he's a heel show wrestler, I think he fits) Chatot (Wigglytuff could've worked too, but I wanted something with a different type) I'd probably either do a quiz show of song trivia since music is really important to me (Like for example that one Earthbound joke regarding Yesterday by The Beatles), or make it similar to those contests like the ones from Hoenn and Sinnoh.

Welp I’m Pretty early. Anyone else always dreamt of having a Pokémon partner? I’ve been thinking of it since I played Pokémon diamond when I was one. Yes. Since I was one. I’d probably be a steel type gym leader with a mawile and lucario as my aces. I don’t care about steel much, but mawile and lucario, their my favorite. I’d probably have a floatzel on my team, so ground and fire can actually backfire. And probably a copperajah, and probably a skarmory, and an alolan sandshrew. I honestly think that your gym/ meeting with the trainer just seems more thought out and personal then any that I’ve seen in the game personally. Just has more personality, and less forced then some (like Whitney in heart gold for example). I would love to see a fan game made with this concept added in, whether you were the leader or not

I love this so much. You put so much detail into it. You made me feel like I was there for all of it. Meeting you at the front of the gym, walking through the forest, finding you at the stadium, and when you Gigantamax your Pokémon. It was beautifully done. Hey Ron, all this talk about light has gotten me thinking of a game I play. It’s a mobile game by the creators of Journey called Sky: Children of the light. It’s centered on light, and your character draws on light’s power to heal itself and fly. It’s a very beautiful game with lovely graphics and fittingly lovely music. I highly recommend it. (Also, love your vids! Keep being amazing 😁)

It's one of the most unique pokevid ever seen by him. This is awesome. Gym Leader alter egos are a great dream job, the challenge would be breathtaking, and G-Max Sceptile was well thought out. The one minor issue with having a *Galar* gym is your Sunset Badge; Galar badges are medallion fragments in a metal ring instead of unique pins in a case. It's still a nice design, though.

I think your gym concept is brilliant! It is refreshing form the typical "every gym has one type" trope. It would be nice if they were themed and chose pokemon based on that theme. Opposite to yours, what if someone loved nighttime. I know I'm one of them. I could stay up all night if I don't have to get up for work in the morning. But rather than having a "dark" themed gym, as I actually have more of a "sunny" personality, I could theme it around the moon. All of my pokemon would require a moonstone to reach their final form or evolve at night time. I would have: Nidoking (Ground/Poison) Clefable (Fairy) Musharna (Psychic) Lycanroc (Rock) Frosmoth (Ice/Bug) Obstagoon (Normal/Dark)

I'm small and kinda shy, but all my favorite Pokemon are hefty Steel-types! So I think I'd go with an "absolute unit" theme to catch people completely off guard. No one would ever see it coming, so I feel like it would be pretty hilarious!

I thought I’d be a ghost, ice, or psychic gym leader, however I recently realized that sound is a massive part of my life. Some of my favorite spooky myths and monsters are sound or musical themed. As a kid I was very sensitive to loud sounds, I had a lot of migraines too. Me and my mom are big fans of music, and communication is a big part of my life too. I listen to music to calm down. There are a ton of stories about villans and monsters that use sound, music, or communication to lure victims away from society. However I think just a sound gym would be boring, but I realize that the reason why sound is important in my life is communication. Communication comes in many forms: light, pheromones, mimicry, illusion, religion, media, emotion, ghosts, the 5 senses, etc. So my gym will be themed around communication. It is set in a giant castle that functions as one giant escape room, each room uses one of the 5 senses and other forms of communication. My character is in the throne room of the castle. I’d use Pokémon based on monsters who use communication to lure people away like the Pied Piper, The witch from Hansel and Gretel, or even the Wendigo.

My gym: flying type with a focus on space exploration. It's also a mission control. It's the last gym in its region, and my team consists of just rayquaza leveled appropriately to be difficult but not impossible. You will either have to grind, even if you have a type advantage, or stock up on items.

I just thought of a gym concept that I think would be pretty cool Basically the theme of the gym is choosing to either take risks or playing it safe You don't know anything about the gym leader's pokemon unless you fight trainers that will give you a hint about one of the gym leader's pokemon. The hint would be relatively easy to figure out and the gym leader's Pokemon don't follow any specific theme, so they could be anything. You can either go straight to the gym leader with no idea what their Pokemon are or fight the trainers and possibly know all of their pokemon. If you go straight to the gym leader and beat them first try, they'd be impressed you beat them without any knowledge of how the battle would go. This gym would likely be around 6th-8th

The Kantonian gym on Ula'ula Island is where I reside. My team changes depending on what time of day you challenge me. Day: Midday Lycanroc Espeon Arcanine Gallade Whimsicott Manetric Night: Midnight Lycanroc Umbreon Alolan Ninetales Aegislash Nidoking Milotic Challengers will either undergo a quiz or some kind of puzzle that involves sunlight/moonlight. Haven't really thought of a badge name.

Epic video my dude. I have to say it’s very thought out and planned nicely. My only nit pick is a gym leader should never be distracted from a battle. You might be creating a beautiful stage for the battle but gym leaders are disciplined despite their demeanor and should be focused solely on the match. Even childish leaders like Whitney don’t look away. Of course I’m interpreting this as if it’s the anime. Either way it was a great watch!

I think it would be awesome to have gyms that were based on something besides typing like you did, I feel that it gives the gym leaders a feeling of also being Pokemon trainers in their spare time instead of just being a gym leader. I love the video so thank you very much for taking the time to make it👍

I found you from that trivia challenge and omg this is so creative! I would most definitely enjoy this forest gym challenge wholeheartedly. My non-canon Gmax would be Flygon, because it's my favorite of all time, and it fits me as someone who enjoys nature, music, and spirits. If I win, Flygon's sand will glitter various colors in the sunset while you hear the music in its wings :)

Hmm, for me itd probably be ghost type since i like creepy/spooky things. The challenge would be using ouji boards to decifer how to get past the ghost pokemon wondering the halls that send you back to the start, and only five pokemon would be allowed to enter the gym with the trainer, My main pokemon would be dragapult. My team would be dragapult, gengar, chandelure, aegislash, and decidueye. The gym trainers would all have ghost types obviously

My dragon type gym puzzle would happen as soon as you enter the gym when suddenly, you trip and fall to the ground. Then a group of dratini surround you and steal your pokemon. You then have to fine the dratini in a giant maze with different obstacles for each path. Once you find one of the dratini, you snatch your pokemon back and KO the dratini, causing it to run off. Then my gym trainers will enter the maze and if the spot you while your trying to find the rest of the dratinis, you have no choice but to battle. You can beat the puzzle by either defeating all of the trainers which will cause the dratini to find you and give you back your pokemon, or finding all of the dratini.
