At first in the game she was kind of a jerk to me. She wouldnt believe you if you said you didn't do anything wrong at the Pokémon School. She always acted a little off, which was understandable, due to her mother, but a slight bitchyness was detected. She did get nicer though.

The pain when you realise that even if you see Lillie again in another region like Kanto in a different game she won’t see you as the person she traveled Alola with. Your character in that game and her will not share the past adventure, she will just see you as another person she met while on her journey, not as Selene, Elio, or whatever you named your character. I’ve just been sitting here thinking about it for a while and man, pain.

There's just some connection between Lillie and the player that surpasses ANYTHING that I've seen in a Pokémon game as of yet. I mean, she grows strong because of the player, and because of this, she's able to overcome her personal problems. Lillie's growth as a character is so amazing. Seeing her leave... was truly heartbreaking. As Professor Kukui said, "When saying goodbye to the ones we love, you gotta give them one last smile, yeah!"

One of the biggest flaws with Sun and Moons story, and modern Pokemon stories as a whole. Until they sort the issues with the protagonist out, the player will always feel disconnected and uninvolved with the shit unfolding. Scarlet and Violet fall into this same trap, where it feels like you should be playing as Arven but instead you're this mute rando who is forced to do everyone's dirty work with no payoff while the characters enjoy and experience the story, with the player even randomly filling in for the characters like the ending where it should have been Arven who confronts the AI professor but it's just you alone lol. Super frustrating and unsatisfying all around. The Pokemon "stories" (massive quotation marks because I'm talking about older games where there basically was no story) that work the most are the ones that directly suck the player in and have them and their actions be extremely relevant, like Black and White which did that pretty nicely while also fixing issues with rivals and champions the series was having after they dropped the story engagement ball since gen 2. Older games were incredibly simple, but motivated the player enough to want to do shit, simple done well. Black and White remembers this. But when the stories get more complex and try to be actual stories, the characters and arcs and potential increase dramatically, but they just never actually involve the player so you get shit like Sun and Moon etc. It hurts it so bad and wastes the potential, there's this frustrating disconnect between the players gameplay and the story unfolding around Lillie that you're forced to watch.

God, this game was - dare I say - perfect. As someone who has played pokemon about as long as I could read, this game recaptured the magic that comes with experiencing the pokemon world for the first time. The game play is fresh, the story is gripping and emotional, and almost every character is beautifully developed. Lilly, Hau, Kukui and Burnet, Gladdion, Guzma, Lausamine... Hell, even the trial captains and kahunas are well developed compared to the gym leaders of past generations. All of them have a story, a distinct personality and motivations, and grow even if it is just slightly. This game captures a personality that I didn't even realize was missing from the pokemon games, and it makes me so confident in and so excited for the future of this franchise.

My only problem with the story is the fact that how the other UB aside Nihilego, and the island guardians aside from tapu koko doesn't have any importance to the plot. Like that scene when the UBs are transported to alola and Hala and Tapu koko appears to fight Buzzwole/Pheromosa while it shows the other guardians are doing the same, and basically nothing happens. It felt like a lost potential for something really awesome. Just because of that i still think B/W still holds the best plot until now.

When Lillie made her own Z-move choreography and then she had this unsure facial expression, I felt sad for her. She probably thinks that she is not good enough, not worthy to ever be a trainer and live the life as one. She was embarrassed, she felt that what she did wasn't right. She feels like if she ever tried to become a trainer, people would judge her and say bad things about her. She thinks that the people around her are inside just laughing at her. I hope that she can really fulfil her dream to become a real Pokémon trainer in Kanto and that she will become a mature and strong person. I would love to battle her if she ever comes back. We just have to wait until Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are released.

Whilst I’m extremely late, this recently came to my recommendations. Jesus Christ, the nostalgia I’m feeling at the moment.. Sun and moon /Ultra sun and moon is the best developed story in the franchise for me. It was so amazing and well executed despite limited pixels. The story was awesome, the idea of z-moves was super cool and all the character developments were just stunning.. it makes me sad still when I come across videos that contain content from Sun and Moon. I remember bawling my eyes out when Lillie left in the first game, and then proceeding to do the same when Gladion left in the second.Tbh, this has made me wanna boot up my old Nintendo 3ds and start playing my game. I miss it. :(

Same this game and it’s characters and story are great. I was also sad when Lillie left, and was definitely caught by surprise when Hau knocked on your door to tell you this. Lillie’s character development was great, and she’s definitely one of pokemon’s best characters for sure. I think it would be cool if Lillie got the Red/Blue/Grimsley treatment and return in a future Pokémon game.

seriously i just really have the feels now, since we'll never see Lillie now, as the same character she felt those rich bonds with as the next time we see her, we wouldn't see her as the same character as it would be a new character meeting her. We'll see her grow more as a person, but it wouldn't be the same as we wouldn't get to see her as the same person, since we'll be playing as a new character. Those bonds we made would be gone, but irl, we still have them in a way as we grew attached to her.

You might have a lot of feels seeing her again, but its not the same as you wouldn't be playing as the mc of sun and moon anymore. She wouldn't share the same bonds with you in future games, and wouldn't even know you. That's the sad part even if she does reappear. You'll see her, but it wouldn't be the same. Still, it would be nice to see her grow up as a trainer and a person.

Lillie, for me at least, reminded me of that what Pokemon was missing for years; a good character with character growth. This was the first Pokemon game in a while that had me invested into the characters I was on this brand new journey with. Lillie isn't a "opposite player model with little to no actual character", she's no Wally, she's no Lyra(Bet you forgot about her). She is a one of a kind character that wants to help whomever as much as she can. She is, at least to me, the best character in Pokemon period. That's just me rambling though, so what do I know.
