Completely free to play player here I think it feels fine as F2P, but after the first 3 days or so the pack opening does really slow down. Now that wouldn't be so bad if Crafting an ex card wasn't so expensive. 500 is just too steep, they can keep the rare versions expensive but the basic versions of cards really should be easier to craft

It doesn't feel fine at all, I've been playing since new Zealand soft launch, and I literally still don't have the deck im trying to build cuz for some fkin reason, 1 star is extremely rare, Im trying to build a mewtwo deck and knowing I'd need 2 mewtwo exs, I rerolled until I got 2 mewtwo ex on the beginner pulls, now you would think Im set, but after exhausting and getting all available pulls, I still have not had a single 1 star ralts or anything from the gardevoir line. There is no crafting/disenchant system in this game, only a terrible pity system. 500 for an ex is a scam, and even a 3 star takes 150, 2 star takes 70 and a 1 star takes 35 and u need 2 copies of each in a deck, i only have 150 points after exhausting all the free pulls, I have to get the whole gardevoir line since i can't pull them due the the massive card pool in each pack and it would cost me 510 point to get 2x of them in total. Never in my life have I seen a card game where I would struggle to get the lowest fkin rarity cards. Its unheard of. I've never experienced it in duel links, master duel, legends of runterra, hearthstone or marvel snap. All those games had either a disenchant system where i could easily obtain those low rarity cards without effort or a guaranteed pull for low rarity card. What the fk is this game????

@@joaquinchua3348 i'm in the same boat, i need giovanni and the gardevoir line and the biggest bummer is that most of my packs are now crappy with max 2-3 diamonds. in the last 10 packs i've opened i got 2 mewtwo ex reg art and 3 weezing alt while i already pulled 2 of each in my first packs. it's nice but i'm not happy when i get them, i need reg art giovanni and gardevoir.

Basic card crafting should be cheap for everyone to be able to make decks, keep the expensive crafting to the full art cards. That's all it needs really. Saying this as a f2p player. Events will be cool but it's really easy to miss hits when you get your initial packs at the start(most people wont reroll). Then you're stuck with mediocre decks which doesn't feel good at all and will cause people to quit.

felt that... pulled charizard ex finally and had to go craft charmeleons. took the entire first 2 days to get dragonair(single copy) and i got 2 dragonites and dratinis in the first 20 minutes. including the fancy dragonite(first nice pull and the ONLY reason i did reroll my account as i liked dragonite)

You could craft them with your points. I know some are saving for an ex, but that takes months. It's fine to spend some points to improve consistency of a deck, especially for cheaper cards.

I do think ranked or trading should come quick. Since if you are f2p which is usually the majority of the playerbase in any of these games you can build 1 or if you are lucky 2 solid decks. You can play the game, but it can get boring overtime. The 1 deck combined with the pack opening slowing down would not be as much of an issue if there was ranked or trading, better yet both.

One thing I think they could incorporate is pre-built decks players could receive/purchase at the start of a nee season or expansion to help get into battles while waiting for packs to become available to open. TCG Live does this since you technically have to buy real life packs to obtain cards if you don't have the in game currency to get specific cards

I think a few easy things they could do to make it a little more friendly for those who don't want to whale the game is they could increase the amount of pack points from 5 to 10, change the cool down timer for the premium pass to be about 1 and 1/2 packs everyday so that way every 2 days you're getting another three packs instead of just two, maybe they could increase the experience gain from opening packs or battling, But battling would feel More deserved, you're taking the cards that you've been collecting and fighting against other people so of course that should reward more experience you're actually learning and experiencing the game proper, they definitely need to add the search function to the card points menu, maybe reduce the timer on Wonder pick by an hour or two

I can tell you right now not paying for packs puts you at a major disadvantage. It's disappointing going in to a battle against a random only to see they have every EX alt art and every card for the best strategy decks available. Meanwhile I'm trying to make decks based on the random cards I've slowly accumulated.

i can see people "playing" this just opening packs. the actual card game, at least to me, is not fast, flashy or rewarding enough. i would open marvel snap for a few games over this any day tbh. maybe because theres no incentive to play. if i win enough matches i can get one pack and thats it? all my decks are work in progress and that progress is going to take forever as f2p.

7:20 and after i was shaking my head in agreement. I'm going to be F2P on launch and am expecting the downfall of card gain pretty early on. Although this is to be expected, it won't instantly make me lose interest. The events that you mentioned will keep things exciting for let's say, the first month, and then for how long after that? This is the biggest determining factor that will play a part in how long the game can keep its non paying audience. One can only play with the same x amount of cards for so long before boredom hits.

I wonder how the trading system will work too because you can dust cards for flair unless you have a playset and then some so I hope trading isn’t like that too. But I have a feeling you’ll need atleast 2 of the card your trading or something and then it’ll cost extra dust if it’s for a card you don’t already own or something like that so you can’t just trade amongst other accounts to get collections finished

Really hoping they implement some good events soon out the gate. Maybe after 2 weeks, have an event for battling where you can unlock like 15 packs by doing missions or just battling during during it. Similar to unite where its not hard to unlock the items it just requires playing the game. I think that will help make it not feel like such a drop off after the first 50 packs that you can get for free ( whcih is pretty easy btw, in your first day you can get about 50 packs or more free).

Also my biggest gripe with the game is that every fight feels like a coin toss (pun intended ig). It’s like ok, I hit my hand, now I can do something. Or ok I have 3 cards left in the deck I just need this 1, don’t pull. Ok I lose. Ok they highrolled, ok I highrolled. Very few games feel like it’s actually competitive and what moves I make matter. I want more control over my hands, I’m sure that’s coming when more cards are introduced but for now it just feels like complete RNG even tho my decks are strong

im in the end of honey moon phase as a f2p player who has spent WAY too much time on the game given the timers... got all the solos done and challenges included and i guess i can spam the versus with my only deck thats even semi viable vs the finished metas, this very quickly(3 days for me) became a 12 hr alarm clock with extra tunnels. bout fkn tired of seeing mewtwo ex tho frfr... 4/5 decks are mewtwo gardevoir. there is ZERO variety in the game and that feels SO BAD next to the lame incentives to actually play the card game. i was hyping this up soooo much but honestly, ima likely quit b4 launch

I hope they manage to roll out regular pve content and extend the dailies - and the rewards to match the extras. As F2P the pve content was challenging, especially completing all the expert challenges (my terrible electric deck vs machamp was so annoying and I had to do it twice cus first time I accidentally left a jiggly puff in my deck!! 😔) I am excited to claim my 2 packs a day +1 extra every 3 days. Oh and they need to be replenishing the shop regularly to spend that in game currency on more pulls too!

I think the main focus of the game should lie with the battles and deck building as much as pack openings. I am fine with getting flashy cards but the packet points system is so horrible even for basic cards. I built a a dragonite deck but I lost all my packet points in buying a single copy of weezing, koffing and Dragonair, this is unacceptable. And remember it will take me months to get that many points back and the ex cards are too expensive. Even though I have three copies of gengar ex and marowak ex, I cant build their decks because I dont have enough points to buy other non ex cards , this is soo bad for the game, hopefully they fix this in the global launch.

Ive spent 25 dollars on top of the premium pass and i still have only 1 playable deck. After the first couple days this games starves you unless you keep pouring money into it. Definitely not F2P friendly but i will wait till global release to see what changes they make if any. There are many broken mechanics in the battleing so im not impressed with that either. Had high hopes for this game.

It's a gacha - the problem is your luck at the moment. I'm f2p and I have 3 fully playable decks. Playable doesn't mean fully optimized but I have roughly 85%+ optimal on each deck. I'm strategic with what wonder picks I prioritize and what packs I should be opening. My decks: EX Pikachu, EX Charizard, and EX Articuno It's definitely achievable

Not sure to understand where you're going with this video, it seems to me that you spend several hundreds in less than two weeks and realise you have everything and opening packs doesn't feel as exciting... was it that hard to guess ? You deprive yourself of the joy of consistently opening packs and building up your collection. As a f2p player who only had the first two free weeks of premium pass i'm already at roughly 70% of collection complete. I have wonderful immersive, full art and ex pokemons, in less than two weeks and I've barely opened Pikachu packs... You also do not take into account the upcoming trading feature that will add a wonderful experience for a lot of players (obviously not for those who already spend hundreds). I think the problem is elsewhere, nowadays it has become to easy to say I want everything and fast, then ultimately burn-out (I've witness this countless times), and you want players to have a "similar experience" ? For those who take their time to open two packs per day, enjoying trading, building up their collection, I believe they will enjoy the game for a long time without burning out.

Yu-Gi-Oh master duel on free to play perspective it much more easily, easier build up proper deck can help you possibly kinda beat the best completive Yu-Gi-Oh players on there that easily all because Konami has just more than enough you can exchange in-game resources to unlock requirements certain different decks you can choose from. That way can plenty ways of choose: 1.) buy multi starter decks or 2.) do want to struggle so much as for now while using in-game premium currency's build up powerful deck may takes couple of months later or 3.) i build a deck with free multiple in-game resources build up a deck that is powerful enough deem as causal decks still stronger than enough to possibly beat stronger players deck that are kinda close to top tier completive decks the easy way route than build yourself up with proper foundation then eventually win against almost anyone in any pvp modes+ at Yu-Gi-Oh master duel.
