You can still hit dark types with status moves if you have prankster IF you are encored into a status move but selected a non status move. Like if you went to attack at normal priority but then got encored into twave, you would use twave normally since you weren't queued to use prankster priority and dark type only blocks the priority

The toxic-poison type-accuracy-bypass is actually super nuanced. SadisticMystic found that as long the FIRST move a poison type uses in a turn is toxic, any move it uses in that turn bypasses accuracy. You can use instruct on a Nidoking for example to have it use toxic first in a turn, and then have Nidoking use its own move to guarantee a hit with Horn Drill.

Nice. I think flying types could use roost in a terrain to get the effects or activate seeds. Imagine Talonflame at low health. Enemy uses a priority move, but you use roost. Since you are flying type, your priority should activate thanks to gale wings, letting you recover, and, since you are now grounded, priority moves against talon flame should be nullified. That would be wicked, no matter how unlikely it is to happen. Also, why does sheer cold has a 20% Acc if you're not an ice type, yet it shows a 30% Acc. That's bound to confuse people
@ironman0644 ай бұрын

Something jank but funny is that, Ice type moves that can freeze, also do so to fire types with exception to those who have Magma Armor, which are limited to like 2 Pokémon. Macargo and Camerupt... neither of which would normally see play against ice types let alone most fights in competitive. I mention it because once frozen in gen 1, there is literally nothing you can do to escape without using an ice heal or being hit with a fire move that could burn. Meaning Fire Spin does not affect the frozen status... which you would think thaw them out immediately. But no. They are simultaneously frozen and burning from the outside. Which makes Gen 2 even funnier when you can: Freeze an Ice Type through Tri-Attack and Poison a Steel Type through Twinneedle. HOWEVER. Something that remains true to this day is that, the Freezing secondary effect does not work when the sun is up BUT IT DOES NOT thaw out the Pokémon any faster or immediately. You'd think it would at least double the chance of thawing out or speed up the process but it does not. Pokémon is fun.

It's interesting to notice how these immunities evolved trough generations: many of these immunities were introduced in gen 6, while in gen1 and gen 2 status immunities worked in a completely different way: pokemon were immune to statuses inflicted by moves they share a type with. For instance: twineedle could have poisoned a grimer, thunderbolt could have paralyzed a rattata but not a pikachu while body slam could have done the opposite. Tri attack in gen 2 could burn a fire pokemon or freeze an ice one. There are still some way to bypass the status immunities of certain types: the ability corrosion allows you to poison steel and poison types. while you can have strange results by evolving a statused pokemon, like a frozen glaceon, a burned flareon and a poisoned scizor, steelix or dustox...

Twineedle is certainly one of the wonkier by products of the old status system, but thankfully it's a lot more intuitive nowaways
