In the post league you can see her as a trainer and battle on her side, for me this is something beautiful and that I whished for. It would be, or would have been, cool a sequel of Sun/Moon where she is a strong trainer, the champion, returned from Kanto with her mother healed; Hau is a Kahuna, the one of Mele Mele, Gladion is Aether Foundation's leader and with a new look... But well, I appreciated also Ultra Moon.

That is the most intense Pokemon battle I've ever seen. The way everyone uses Reflect and Light Screen made the battle lengthy, but not boring. Feels like a battle from the anime. Damn, they really could've made Lillie a challenger though, even if her team is rather weak.

Normally, Alolan Ninetales has Snow Cloak. The Hidden Ability is Snow Warning as ghost_curse said. The AI typically don't have hidden abilities unless they're battled in a Battle Facility or the aftergame. Even if Ninetales DID have Snow Warning here, that'd have put Lillie's team at greater risk because she has no other Ice Types. I'd say this is a well-thought out circumstance for this battle.
