Celosia (purple hair) is named after Celosia. aka Cock's Comb which is a member of the Amaranth family. The letter C represents another class of Solar Flares. Both Archie and Maxie probably have versions of the word Arch and Maximum meaning "high up"

I feölt the same as a child, but replaying it, it's just a VERY mediocre RPG. The combat isn't fun at all. Healing and buffing are obsolete. Very effective moves are OP and you oneshot everything. Bossfights are very important to me and there are just like 4 of them in this ~30 hour RPG: Yveltal, Zygarde, Zapdos and Mewtwo. They are harder than the rest of the content because you need to get them to low health without killing them, but they are still really easy compared to the bosses in other Turnbased DS RPGs. The Story\Lore isn't anything special to make up for the lacking gameplay. Exploration is meh. I don't remember any interesting discoveries. Team Flare is kinda cool though. The Music is the best part about it.

Despite Team Flare not being on-par with the other villainous teams in Pokémon, their theme is one of my favorites. It sounds like something you'd hear if you were in a frantic race against time to stop a doomsday device from blowing up the world, kind of like the escape theme from the Metroid games. This is very fitting since that's basically what their ultimate goal was.

There was an alleged leak about development shortly after the game was published that said until the last little bit of its development, XY was about a clandestine alien invasion, specifically them trying to recover an ancient superweapon that AZ (also an alien, hence the size and long life) brought to Earth and locked away thousands of years ago. I think it fits that really well.

Honestly Team flare scientists & Lysandre need to have a 1-2 more pokemon in their teams. I got some ideas. Note: IK they might`ve had their pokemon from some other region or that taking location as a factor doesn`t fully make sense, but some of them DO have pokemon based on the location of their mission... and that's the best criteria I could come up with, besides the other ones I am considering 1: For Aliana, A mountain Kalos pokemon that looks tough & scary, like Aggron, since the only route that connects Lumiose, the location of Lysandre labs & Power plant is a mountain Kalos route. 2: For Bryony, Another mount Kalos pokemon, Skarmory to be specific, because... a) Mount Kalos -> Pokeball Factory b) Shares Steel type with Bisharp, also covers its weakness to fighting with flying typing. c) Um... matches her team`s theme... I guess? 3: For Celosia, a Poison type will be great. I`m gonna consider both Mount & coastal Kalos because She has Manectric, the evolution of Electrike, a pokemon found only in Coastal Kalos out of the whole region, So if we take Mount Kalos- a) Gengar b) Victreebel If we take Coastal Kalos- c) Dragalge If we entirely disconsider the location criteria- d) Toxicroak I particularly considered Victreebel due to its ability to cover ground type, Her teams primary weakness & sharing poison typing with Drapion.. Gengar because Levitate + Poison type. Dragalge... because poison & I thought it would be a cool, fitting addition to her team. Toxicroak because... it fits the poison theme, it fits her & an admin of another evil team has used it before. 4: For Mable, a ice type pokemon found in Frost cavern, something like Cryogonal, Mamoswine or jynx will do. I think Jynx is best because it covers her team`s common weakness to fighting. 5: For Xerostic, a psychic & electric or steel type... OR BOTH. Magnezone & Alakazam together are awesome additions to his team. I gave him 2 because he is the LAST admin you face & we meet him for the 1st time pretty late game 6: For Lysandre`s I`ll post in a comment on his theme`s video. Just when you though cliffhangers don't happen in the comment section, right? ;)
