I have not made any research about XG, except that this is an incredibly hardcore mod with semi competitive handcrafted teams (for that gen), more variety of Pokemon, and just fantastic. God I love this community.

Shadow Freeze looks hella annoying. This is why Freeze in the main series is relegated to RNG, because Freeze as a Status would be pretty overpowered otherwise. And to think the status used to be worse (as in more broken)

No megas in this game, but there are 2 "regional forms", which are just recolored models. Pokemon with crossgen evolution do have increased stats. Dunno about mons with megas having increased stats though

Why didn't you use your Timer Ball once? I imagine you went back to save later to get the Shadowns that were defeated... but maybe using it, you could have got them in the same video.

The Timer Ball only gets its max effectiveness after 30 turns (4x catch rate). An Ultra Ball has a 2x catch rate, so it only starts to get on the same level as an Ultra Ball after 15 turns (I hope that's how it's calculated in game). Also, all these battles are done seperately from my own playthrough. I make save states before each boss fight and come back later when I feel like recording them. Playing the already slow GameCube Pokemon games on speedup is amazing.

I frequently use Timer Balls in Gale of Darkness simply because these battles can take a while, it really isn't difficult for a battle to last at least 15 turns in this game.

I tried to nuzlocke it, and Snattle gave me nightmares, especially his Ninetales. After passing him, it was still hard but not that hard, I managed to have a team with Dragonite, Tyranitar, Gengar, Salamence, Metagross and Milotic, making strategical switchs while doing Earthquake or Surf, but my save crashed in the 2/3 of the volcano island :'( hardest game experience ever to Nuzlocke that game... double focus are traitors. The worst battle of the game is the Raichus trainer in Mt. Battle, they use discharge twice, both boost their sp.atk because lightning rod and hax you over and over... just try to keep your mons alive in a nuzlocke while that happens to you... he withened out me 2 times.
