ADDENDUM THREAD (ongoing): Shadows are shiny locked for the AI during their FIRST encounter, but can still become shiny when caught by the player. For subsequent rematches, they can become shiny for the AI. The NPC that gives the player the Cologne Case only appears after defeating Dakim at Mt. Battle. (I knew this just completely forgot to add it in lol)
@storymaster212 ай бұрын
Cologne scents also remove exp gained. Also if you revive a fainted shadow pkmn after already having sent them out, and send them BACK out, they get a second bar drop the same way they do when normally sent out.
@Zork7872 ай бұрын
while I know this video is for Colosseum 1, in XD the shiny lock was fixed so that even when you catch shadow pokemon in XD, they can never become shiny like in Colosseum 1, so when going into XD after Colo1, just keep that in mind that you cant ever get shiny shadow pokemon

shinies turning normal when you catch them is evil as frick
@ouma532 ай бұрын
It's only if you lose/fail the initial encounter with the Shadow, not during its initial encounter. Hitmontop is really the sole problematic Pokemon here, as you're forced to see it battle Rui's grandfather, which is how it can appear shiny for Wes/the Player in the second, TID re-rolled fight.
@Nocturne9892 ай бұрын
Additionally, its exactly due to that programming that we can shiny hunt them ourselves. In the first battle they're shiny locked for the TID of the enemy trainer, so the opposite can happen; a nonshiny Shadow on the opponent's team can be caught and turn shiny for us. And unlike them getting the shinies, this can happen the first time we encounter them.

Gotta love how this game’s 1/256 was an actual intended thing they did, versus just being a programming oversight like the Gen 1 Miss 👏
@yepmulti2 ай бұрын
2:37 something worth pointing out is that shadow pokemon are actually shiny locked, but the lock only works properly on the first battle. im not sure why this happens, but it *might* be because the game determines what the pokemon's stats and shininess will be for you on the first battle, and these stats remain the same on the 2nd battle. so its *possible* the trainer sends out "your version" of the pokemon during the 2nd battle instead of one thats properly shiny locked.
@elementalgaming51719 сағат бұрын
probably cuz the pokemon u fight in the rematch is the EXACT SAME in every way, even trainer ID, so while theyre shiny locked for their original trainer, the ID stays the same and they could be shiny for their second trainer who has a different ID, so that could lead to finding a shiny, catching it, and it not being shiny for you

Regarding the shadow rush section: as much as the HPs from the pokemon are shown as integers (= a whole number), it might actually be taken as a floating number (= number with a comma) within the code. Then, depending on how the roundings are done when applying the -HP/16, which also is a floating number you end up with two rounding factors: the HPs and the damage that are dealt and this can cause this offset of one damage. Here is an example that I've run on simulating the damage on 148 (Entei's health) but without rounding the health, the third hit would bring your hps from 129.5 to 120.25, which rounded using regular rounding means you had 130 hp and are down to 120 which is 10 damage shown to the player, even though it was strictly -9.25 (1/16 of Entei's max hp) damage which was applied.
@enobgin2 ай бұрын
I sort of doubt this since it wouldn't explain how values can vary between three offsets (-1, 0, +1). This would be a huge discrepency, example 75.49-4.9=70 (note 75.49-4=71.49), but now 30-4.9=27 never makes sense since 30.49-4.9=25.59 which is nowhere close to 27. This makes sense as round only selects two values of either floor/ceil. Also, more to the point, I simply don't believe that health is stored as a floating-point as there would be so many other issues, like being alive at 0.1 HP, and it would affect more than just this move. Most likely it's as suggested, HP -= HP/16-1+uniform(0, 4), where uniform(a, b) generates a random int32 btwn [a, b]. Unless I'm missing something here. This has implications far beyond just this singular move is the main issue tho

"Ore" in Japanese means "I". "Ore" is only for use by males. Also, "ore" implies that the speaker is a bit of a rough brute. For males who are not rough brutes, "boku" is a better way to say "I". I think that the region may be named after that. The Ore region is full of rough brutes and ut seems that the name is even pronounced like the Japanese word as opposed to pronouncing it like English people typically would.
