39:50 Here’s a quick explanation of why the AI acted this way: - The AI for the E4 & Champion makes it so that if they know for 100% certain their Z-move kills, they will go for it, even if one of their other moves would also kill. The reason that Crabominable didn’t use its Z-move turn 1 is because Skarmory can have the ability Sturdy, which meant that it wasn’t a 100% guaranteed kill, so it went for Close Combat to break Sturdy (if the skarmory had it) and then went for the Z-move after since it WAS a 100% kill

The could've EASILY expanded on megas. Maybe got the public involved in a poll where all the fans could take a vote on the next mega even? Plus, I would've lowkey liked if they introduced delta pokemon like in insurgence. The could've expanded w deltas, make a delta dex tab and maybe even create mega evolutions for said deltas down the road. Massive miss on their end imo.

The thing about wonderlock is that people loves to get rid of almost perfect IV pokes with correct nature and ability because they want to breed some perfect IV. For USUM i'd just think better to farm bottle caps on the tower with a mega salamence, but consistent almost perfect IV ability nature and egg moves is kinda broken for a nuzzlock.

Playing Pokemon was always my de-stress game. If I wanted to feel the thrill like Jan says I'd play State Of Decay or Fire Emblem. But after watching more of his videos I really want to nuzlocke more often. I guess Pokemon has been my switch off and relax game for so long it's tough to suddenly have it be stressful.

I'm the exact same. I will never do a nuzlocke because I get way too attached to my team, and I specifically plan out those teams before I even start a game for type coverage. However, when I want the tougher stuff, I play Fire Emblem since I enjoy the tactical gameplay more. Plus, if you lose a character in FE, you just restart the battle instead of ending an entire run.

you got me back into Nuzlocking after not trying for years. Did a Black 2 run and pretty much lost my entire team to Colress. Lost my starter (who happened to be my favourite pokemon) and all the mercy in my heart just vanished. Did some grinding and absolutely STORMED on every fight using a Hydreigon I had sitting in the PC. Turned elite 4 into elite snore. I tried a Poison Typelocke in Pokémon Red (because I normally do monotype runs, in general, usually Dark, but it's not really possible to do a mono-Dark run in Gen 1, 2, or their remakes), which I _thought_ would probably be the easiest run, given the abundance of type coverage Gen 1 Poison-types in Kanto have, being able to take on pretty much everything except Psychic-types. And I was doing pretty well, but then Mt. Moon happened and I got wiped by a Raticate. I haven't done another Nuzlocke, since.

Very late to the game here, but as someone who has recently found your channel I find these videos both entertaining and educational. I almost exclusively use nuzlockes to scratch an itch to play Pokemon and your content is making me realise that there's a lot more thought and planning that goes into the high end challenges than just getting lucky with an encounter or two. I'll never attempt streaming or anything, just not built for that, but you've at least convinced me to start treating nuzlockes as more of an exercise than something to just start and never finish (which was way too often a problem I have when losing motivation).

I actually did a blind Nuzlocke on my first run of Pokemon Moon. I chose Litten as my starter because I like my Fire types, got through Melemele Island without much incident, got a Fomantis shortly before the Wishiwashi trial that I kind of fell in love with partially because I used Pokemon Refresh not realizing the broken side effects it gave me, got hit hard by Wishiwashi, almost died to Salazzle and only barely held on thanks to a Carbink (from 10 Carat Hill iirc), and wiped to Lurantis. I continued the playthrough as a normal casual playthrough after that, but that was a very interesting experience. I might try doing something similar for Scarlet and Violet when they come out.

I always forget how bulky some of my favorite sweepers are. I love using obstagoon and yet am always surprised when it lives some non stab fairy move or something, and when krokorok got hit with the continental crush I was like "Wait it tanks that?" despite it actually being pretty beefy. I guess I'm just more used to pokemon like alakazam who get absolutely wrecked any time they miss a kill.

True, the Wishiwashi is kinda scary but at least it doesn't really have any good moves, but jesus that Lurantis trial might actually be the hardest fight in the game, maybe next to Nanu, but I feel like Lurantis just hits so hard, especially with the sun up removing the charging turn for solar blade
