Good job explaining Rice-man! I've been playing poker in casino's for over 40 years and never really understood how the dealers take the rake till you explained it to me.

Rice-Man. There's a Bally's dealer who calls me that lol.

40 years and never realizing how rake works ? Jeez . That's embarrassing .

@michaelblankenau6598 I always knew the percentages and max rake, but not necessarily that it was done at $10 levels at every street.

@@michaelblankenau6598 Aren't you the one who said it's impossible to win at roulette? If you lose, they take your bet. If you win, they leave your bet, and it's a tie. Wasn't that you? Who thought tying and losing were the only two roulette options.
@michaelblankenau659811 ай бұрын
@@VegasPokerNomad Not sure what you’re referencing . But I can guarantee I never said anything so nonsensical… at least as it pertains to roulette .

Very good explaining all that rake and promo stuff! Woo hoooo!

Great explanation, didn't realize promo money has to be given back. If you had to bet or make a guess, what month do you think the next rakeback promo will be at MGM?

I don't know if they're doing it again. This weekly freeroll is a big change from their typical stuff. Looks like they've gone in another direction.

Thank you for making this. I am kinda bummed out, because for every $50 pot, “I” am paying the house five or six bucks. Ouch!

Only if you win.

Then build your own poker room. They can’t run a room without taking rake and making money.
@mjriemen11 ай бұрын
Promo money has to be used to *promote* the Poker room, it doesn’t necessarily have to go back to the players, as cash. They could hire a celebrity with money from the promo drop to make an appearance at the Poker room, thus *promoting* the Poker room. Your “reward” would be getting the meet said celebrity, not money. Or get better chairs for the Poker room, or do any sort of *promotion* that doesn’t result in the players receiving money. Also, the Casino is allowed to keep all the interest accrued from the promo money, which can be a lot.

Depends on the state. In the poker rooms I’ve worked for the promo fund had to be distributed back to the players.

That’s not true at all at least in NV. Maybe if the official MOB still ran things. Not with the corporate MOB that currently runs vegas.
@VegasPokerNomad11 ай бұрын
I haven't read the rules, but that sounds wrong in NV.

In some states, the house can keep part of it for administrative costs, typically 10%. Might not be allowed in Las Vegas though.

C'mon Rice..... What if I said my favorite place to gamble is Aladdin? Horseshoe rebranding is here to stay and all you do is confuse viewers by not referring to it as such.

I know what casino used to be Aladdin.
@BrianBowman-mw9vt11 ай бұрын
@@VegasPokerNomad you completely missed the point. The further away you get from a rebranding there will be fewer people that remember the old brand. Sure the majority of people know that the Horseshoe used to be called Bally’s now, but that number will only get smaller over time. It comes off as pretentious when you insist on saying Bally’s over and over again and feels like you go out of your way to say it as much as possible. Why is that you don’t refer to Planet Hollywood as the Aladdin? Or use the Dunes when referring to the Bellagio? Surely there’s some viewers who remember seeing the Rat Pack there and they’d know what you meant.

@@BrianBowman-mw9vt I never played at the Dunes nor Aladdin. I played a ton at Bally's. I shopped a ton at The Price Club.
