Fold that shot or go all in .. depending on if you get a read. Typically fold here.
@PositiveVibesVids3 жыл бұрын
Actually I take back the fold for most of the time .. was saying fold with more then two people. Call is fine here or small raise . Yet if you get the gut feeling a fold is still okay.

Q high is too strong to fold in limp/check pre, check/check flop, small bet on turn. Call turn, fold river.

Shoving 88 preflop prevents you from having to make a tough decision on the river or turn

I don’t love Q high as a value hand. You can really apply pressure with a shove given the other short stack’s presence. D. Shove
@dennisje29253 жыл бұрын
probably call (raise all in is no option). The other two option are also ok. Are you bluffing when opponent checks the river or checking because we do have some SDV?
@sklem37653 жыл бұрын
is it fair for exvang to show that 2 at the end of the hand?
@nomilknosugar49003 жыл бұрын
I float. We only need 22% equity, which we will easily realise by calling in position. If we hit a Q or 5 we often win and we get to make some nice bluffs on the river if we miss. Folding is criminal. Raises should be reserved for when we have a heart, or we will be bluffing far too much.
@benajminmccoy90773 жыл бұрын
Queen high is probably just a fold, no need to put more chips in when your stack is that healthy and you have such a bad hand, unless you are planning to pressure him off a small pair on the river but that most likely won’t work often
@emmanuelvacakis44633 жыл бұрын
I shove 88 preflop.
@joeybets89813 жыл бұрын
I call as we beat their bluffs since they never bluff with better and if they bet small again on river we can either bluff catch or turn this hand into a bluff.

Wouldn’t a flat payout structure make ICM less important and make you play less tight as a shorter stack than if it was a non-flat payout structure?
@PokerCoaching3 жыл бұрын
No. The more top-heavy it is, the more value there is in winning the tournament, so ICM becomes less important. As the pay jumps get flatter, ICM is more important because each pay jump means more.
@PokerCoaching3 жыл бұрын
Imagine a winner-take-all, where 1st gets 100% of the prize pool. This is the least flat possible and ICM is non-existent.

Cash game easy fold, given this exact situation we have a lot more fold equity than normal so betting large (like 400k to set up all in on reasonable cards, not sure I really like the all in on the turn itself) is at least an option to consider but given our range is extremely wide we ought to have so many better bluffs here (like even 2 random cards over a 9) folding still looks good. Edit: interesting would not have assumed Q high 2nd worst possible kicker is good enough to try bluff catching for 1 street (worse a 5 blocks some bluffs and brings in other draws if it pairs), but I guess the K being on the board helps you as does the fact that while the SB doesn't simply fold to the BB much preflop, they still rarely have a 2 or a 3 (especially when there are blockers to a K and Q).

Call at a minimum. I may think about a 2x raise on top ie 210,000 but more than likely just a call
@backpacker34213 жыл бұрын
I think given the play, a 2 is COMPLETELY inside Elio's range and barely in Ottomar's range at all (A2 maybe?). The bluff is totally reasonable but I wouldn't have waited that long to make it. I think Ottomar's only big mistake here was min betting when he chose to lead. Either check it down or lead out like you're blocking the draws and would be happy to call any bluff. I think at 70k blinds, calling the bluff is reasonable. You've still got a thin margin to hang around, and the K and 9 are both unlikely, so your main worry is the 2.

ive been seeing improvements since ive been educating myself her and other youtube channels, but i find when im playing small stakes tournaments i am to final table almost every time, but also bounced just outside the bubble. how do i find the leaks in my game that are causing this shortfall?
@PositiveVibesVids3 жыл бұрын
Don't have to watch this to know that's a shuv basically every time . Only to narrow it down to two people so you have an edge against even a A K suited. Yet you let a few people in that pot and your odds go down real fast
@iambadatpickingusernames66693 жыл бұрын
Most very strong hands go for a limp-jam off a really short stack in the SB. 88 is on the line (really small pairs just jam), but if you're just open-ripping hands like TT-AA you lose a lot of value. The larger stack is just going to raise so much junk that you can limp-shove over and pick up 3 extra bigs.

Looking like a dead body in the pool I feel the uncontrollable urge to gamble here. We are playing for a big prize he already played them 8s like a Vag I think he's waiting to make what he thinks is a good fold

I would fold this deep in the tournament with no pair on the turn. Maybe not the best move but I don’t want to just give chips away.

At 8.50 i like to think about these spots anytime i watching youtue poker content which is around 40 - 50hours a week for last 7 years and 20 a week before that, but 88 can never bet here, with the k32 9 2 run out, he would be targeting exactly 3x or Q high which isnt always calling and 3 x may even bet flop IP BVB , in fact prob does for value and protection as anything that isnt trips or 2 pair on turn is scare card, he very rarely gets check raised there. Also 88 cant target many Ax hands as the BB is going to raise or shove most if not all Ax because of the tough spot LADVA would be in, so check calling when all draws miss is the only play, otherwise 88 is essentially bluffing but he never folds out 9 or Kx! Unless its massive OB on river its just check snap call and even when villain balanced he mainly loses to exactly 9x for normal sizing, as 222 or better are going to generally use a larger sizing with those hands as played to balance missed draws etc

I am Dave R wife, its uncanny and quite honestly spooky how he will pause the video instantly analyse it and i will type out what he says and again its spooky when so often he will say close to word for word of which ever you tuber is saying i often come over to him a lot of the time when he is playing poker even with a video i have picked out and get him to do it! He just says its because he has absorbed sooooo manh thousands of hours of content, then he will say STUDY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PLAYING EXPERIANCE IN TERMS OF IMPROVEMENT, he got me into it 2 years ago but i dont have the time to play like he does, after 2 years i still cant even nearly think on his level, so i suppose my message is STUDY TO IMPROVE, i dont study so there you go! This is from him GG AT THE TABLES GUYS, and me " and girls " lol

I don't like that GG lets you show a card after you folded. In a real poker game your cards are in the muck and you can't show them, in a virtual poker game it should be the same.
