Antonio keeps getting the vast majority of his chips in... utterly dominated -- and then claims Phil is lucky. The difference is that Phil can get away from good hands... Antonio is flatly incapable of that.
@jatinsablani58344 жыл бұрын
There wasn't one 'good' hand Phil got away from. Antonio was in really tough spots like 9s vs just one over card on the board and two pair over two pair. The best laydown Phil made was K9 when he had second pair and Antonio flopped a set of 10s (which is a pretty easy laydown when put all in given the pot odds). Variance was definitely on Phil's side 🤷
@TheBgulya4 жыл бұрын
@Marat V I'm still in the first half hour but Antonio his had AQ three times and hit trips on the river a couple hands after that interaction.
@MrRondonmon4 жыл бұрын
PLUS....He had Phil down to 53 with the stakes getting higher, all he had to do was play small ball and wait for a hand or 2. He chose o get it all in with 9-9, thus Phil went from 53 to 106 K. If he played small ball, got him down to 25 K or so he could have just moved on pre flop with KQs and KJs and pushed Phil around until he broke him. He had him, and then couldn't fold, lol.

In 2004, I saw a really interesting hand between these two guys. It was the last year the World Series of Poker was held at Binion's Horseshoe Casino downtown, when you could still easily be amongst the players, before it all moved to the Rio. I was 16 years old, sitting in the bleachers next to Phil Hellmuth's mom, wife, and sister (his "three queens" as he said). It was the $2,000 pot limit hold 'em event, and they were at the final table. I remember seeing Phil doing yoga in the corner during a break. Anyway, Phil was all in with two queens and Antonio had him covered with two jacks. The flop came J-8-5 all spades. Phil had the queen of spades, and a blank spade hit the turn, giving him the flush and the lead. But then, the river paired eights, giving Antonio the full house and the pot, busting out Phil in sixth place. Phil got up, shook Antonio's hand like a perfect gentleman, and walked away. No rants. There were no cameras. Antonio turned to the crowd. I flailed my arms in the air like a wave, which was his signature move at the time. He leaned back in his chair and waved back. He went on to win the event -- his first bracelet!

Keep in mind Hellmuth was badgering the dealer about his card handling. I’d be a little off too

The dealers were shocking poor antonio with 25k ish left gets dealt AQ and the useless dealer has miss dealt them, its 2 fukking people ffs how can they pick dealers that cant even deal heads up, earlier on in match she didnt realise there extra 1k in pot then went to give it to wrong person! Fukking shocking!

Nice breakdown on the end. Recognizing your opponent's in low stakes is critical. Next low stakes players tend to call marginal spots because they rationalize that their opponent's are mostly bluffing. Know your opponent's weaknesses ie over CALLING rivers, for max value. Cheers

Keep your lenses clean - trade secret.... if they still mist up then sorry to say they’re poor quality lenses, however if you keep them clean with good cleaning products they should be ok. I hope this helps in this time of face covering madness.

I think when he’s focused he’s incredibly tough to beat. Sometimes on poker shows he treated it more like an appearance and got distracted playing his character. Here there’s a lot of pride and money on the line with Antonio so he’s bringing his A game.
