Whenever I see Addamo on one of these super high roller final tables he always seems to have at least one crazy read followed by a well thought out ICM related bluff with air. He's just so good at putting people on marginal hands and applying huge pressure in big spots and must be an absolute nightmare to play against even for these other really high level guys. Credit to Bonomo the pay jump from 3rd to 2nd was probably huge, magnificent call, just terrific poker all around really.

Bonomo had the perfect bluff catching hand with the king ten. The king blocked aks and k9s, and he's gonna need to pick a few hands like these to hero call with so he's not over folding when adamo is polarized here on the river. Also it's the perfect line for adamo because on the turn bonomo pretty much never has the nuts, which is ace king bc he just called pre. So adamo can empty the barrel knowing bonomo is gonna have to hero call with a player left in the tournament with a much shorter stack making bonomos call even tougher

Addamo makes it 4x preflop with squadoosh since Justin is 2nd in chips and a huge ICM situation to outlast the 3rd guy on short stack. I think he folds 92o except for this ICM consideration. J3Tr board fits JT's pf calling range (as rightfully commentated)so Addamo checks to fold, but JT doesnt want to inflate the pot due to MA's proclivity to Check Raise. JT wants to play small ball in position with second pair and ICM consideration. However. MA still has AK and other premiums in his range that he is trapping. Turn is Q, not AK has broadway. JT never has AK or a set, top of his range is two pair on the turn. He doesnt raise so MA can also eliminate 98 River pairs J. Justin would have bet a J on the flop most likely. MA still has broadway and every fullhouse possible. If JT had two pair, like QT, he got counterfeited. Best hand JT can have is likely a dry Q or T. Remember JT is unlikely to slowplay in position on a wet board with ICM situation. It is a hard call for every hand in JT's range that got to the river as above. So MA goes allin to put max ICM pressure. JT likely thought all the above, and probably imagines MA goes for lesser bet on river if he was trying to extract value, given JT knows MA knows JT's range that got to the river is limited and skewed towards bluff catchers. JT knows MA knows JT is under ICM pressure and likely doesnt have an automatic all in hand to call. JT puts all that together, decides MA does not want to call the river shove, so he calls.

@DaftFader3 жыл бұрын
@@scottpalmer2794 Ye he's basically repping AK (but Bono blocks) or J/10 (which he also blocks) or Q/J. That's about all that would legitimately warrant an all in in that spot if you were playing tight but aggressive. There's also the J/3 but unless he was playing just about any hand (which he actually was with the 9/2 lol) then that would normally of got folded out pre flop to a bet (Although he was small blind, it was final table of a massive tournament, there were only 3 at the table AND he was chip leader by quite a big margin - All these things change the situation to make his possible range super super wide in reality) . I think Addamo went into this hand looking for a bluff pretty early on. and as soon as that jack hit he could rep the boat over the nuts straight. Bono just had his bluff catching K/10 tho, but summoned the power of Vishnu and the other poker gods and somehow made that call anyway! Guy's got balls of steal. Im stupid I thought Bonomo had a straight in the thumbnail but noticed he only had a 2 pair after a few minutes
@edifysalim5359 Жыл бұрын
got a little feeling of bonomo has decided to call on the first minute, that K 10 give him some valuable blocker, he just need to make sure and drag it as long as he can to drain addamo energy a little bit

Who won on this tournament?

Why did Addamo open to 4BB? While I admit he knows the spot far better than me, that seems too large. From my understanding, a "normal" SB open (100BB effective, no ante) is around 3BB. The ante will presumably push that toward a larger open size to give the big blind worse pot odds to call, while the shorter stack depth (~43BB) will have the opposite effect. Even if the effect of the ante wins out among those two factors, I would not expect it to increase the size by a full big blind.

Perhaps he thought he could maximize fold equity later in the hand by building a bigger pot from the start given ICM pressure.

@@sageikeda4434 That's an astute point. :) He's not playing a hand as weak as 92o for nothing.

This might sound nuts, but I highly suggest you watch this with the sound off and several other hands with Mike with the sound off so you don’t have to listen to the announcers it’ll help you step your gameplay up I promise

Woooooooooooooo! How did you make that call?
@DivyanshuPantluvuall23 күн бұрын
Well he only was afraid of full house, while blocked straight. and knew he didn't have q to go all in with.... And trips is also rare in that play

that 45+ second tank between each play is KILLING me. Crazy shove on the river tho wow

That’s how it goes when that much money is on the line. Give me $50K to play a tournament, best believe I’m gonna utilize my time bank as much as possible.

Awesome bluff.. but for me, the one that beats it was Ivan Demidov vs Dennis Phillips... best bluff in the biggest event ... insane

The call was way more gangster than the bluff

It’s not the hardest bluff to make only risking 1/3 of your stack with a blocker to 2 straights and trips combos.

Addamo really great to take advantage of the weak spot of his opponent.
@BeautifulBCHomes2 жыл бұрын
Pretty tight range of hands that Addamo could be winning with QQ, KK AA or 33. 10, 10 is highly improbable. Eventually Bonomo thought the chances of one of those 4 hands is too low.

I love how he looks at the dealer to confirm his all in bluff like you always do when you have the nuts.

You talk about a balls call. Even though you know the chip leader is the one most likely to screw with you, calling with 3rd high pair in such a critical situation deserves a check mark. In case you are unaware, protecting you stack at a final is up there with going all in with A-A.

I don't understand the video title????? it should say most gangster call of all time.....

I think the bluff would have worked had he bet the flop, checked and made it seem like he was worried about the Q and the bomb the river almost like he is relieved to have caught the set.
