I wish stud poker was on tv more so people would want to play it
@MightyJabroniАй бұрын
I agree, love No Limit Hold'em. But I hate how much it towers over other Poker varieties, like Seven Card Stud or Limit Hold’em (which is actually far more aggressive than no limit). I also feel, immersing yourself in the different Poker varieties makes you a better player overall. It just sharpens your game sense, because the fundamental logic, the ranking of hands (accept for Razz and Hi/Lo), remains the same throughout, but tackled from different angles. I guess, No Limit Hold’em just makes for what is perceived the best television, since it makes for highlight reels (bloated pots). But between these peaks, No Limit is actually a far more conservative game like Limit Fold’em or 7 Card Stud.

The banter between Phil Hellmuth and Jack McClelland was wonderful to listen to. Two amazing poker legends who each have overwhelming respect for each other. What a treasure to have them mic'd up and listening to them just enjoying each other.

I genuinely think Phil is a legend. My view on it is this: The man plays games in which you can make the best play with the best possible holdings and still lose, when he very clearly needs the internal validation of proving to himself his efforts and actions are equally rewarded. The fact he shows up ready to hit the streets really shows how headstrong he actually is. He's already fighting a battle in his mind nevermind the stress of the environment, the money, the title, the bracelet. A few f's and #$%! here and there for us is nothing compared to the onslaught in Phil's mind. Big up the big guy.

Probably need to be limit though, also community cards could be dealt one at a time or two and two, if you want more betting rounds.

I love all these comments about how Hellmuth needs to be removed.... Why? Have you lived under a rock for the last 30+ years? It's his MO... It's his brand. This is why grinding tournament poker is the toughest way to make a living playing the game. At least in cash games, the variance averages out quicker.
