Being a Pokebreeder and breeding since black and white I like to say that patience is the key to this, if you can I recommend watching something like a show or a movie while doing your shiny breeding. Having hatched probably between 15-20k eggs you can do yourself a lot of good taking frequent breaks or passing the time by keeping your mind busy. As always and recommended having the shiny charm helps!

Some more tips from me: 1. Use the GTS in Pokemon Home’s mobile version to obtain a Ditto. Usually there are at least a few people willing to trade their Ditto for yours. I got my own French Ditto with that method. Tip 2: Just in case you run into a wild Pokemon, have your Steam Engine/Flame Body/Magma Armor Pokemon hold a Smoke Ball to easily be able to run away. You can easily find one in the Slumbering Weald.

About the only thing i would have touched on differently have been the nature breeding with an everstone, that way you don't have to worry about mints. And then it'll just be IVs that you need concern yourself with. And if you happen to have a perfect ditto, slap a destiny knot on it, transfer them IVs. Really wouldn't have been much more than an added minute to the video. :)

Info: Easiest way for me to get foreign ditto. All I did was catch one in my game, and then just spam link trade offering my ditto for a trade. 4 people traded a ditto for mine but they ended up being from the same country. The 10th person I connected with traded me a ditto and it was German. Most people know what you want to do when you offer a ditto and will offer one to trade back, if they dont then just cancel and start a new one. Its super fast and only took me 5 minutes.

Extra tip about wild pokemon: whichever pokemon has your step-cutting ability, for me it's Talomflame, have it hold a smoke ball so it can escape any encounter with a wild pokemon. Good for the bridge daycare due to the Wobbufets (shadows tag, which prevents you from escaping).

Right now I am trying to hatch a shiny lapras ( one of my favorite pokemon) and I'm currently on 700+ eggs. I guess that when I hatch one it'll be my shortest hunt and first shiny ever in my whole life. I was hunting a shiny gyarados when I found out how pretty they are but when I saw the shiny lapras color I put gyarados on hold 😁. When I found out about shiny pokemon (found out about them through a sword and shield play through) I was reaaaalllly surprised! I've always been a huge Pokemon fan but embarrassingly enough I only recently found out shiny pokemon existed. They are beautiful! 🥺

I'll breed from the route 5 daycare and I noticed my average distance for another egg is between the girl on the bottom side of the bridge and to the guy on the opposite side a little further down. I usually go the distance to the guy then go back. But 9/10 that's the right distance to travel(with all met requirements for breeding). If not then I do like 2-3 quick circles. Hope it helps so people arent riding the entire distance for 1 egg at a time. Again you have to have the required items for faster egg spawning too.

If you have 2 switches and 2 copies of the game/a friend: On one copy, start a new save in any language that isn't the language of your main save. Start up a ditto raid on your main save. Make the other save join you, catch the raid ditto and trade! You now have a foreign ditto.

if you’re looking at this guide in 2022 and noticing that surprise trades are dead, my advice is to get pokemon home. link it with your switch and on your phone, then catch a ditto in whatever your language is and put him in your PC. then go into pokemon home on your switch, pull him into the phome box, and save. open phome on your phone and look for gts dittos and sort by whatever region you want. there’s loads of foreign dittos with trades waiting for american dittos (at least in my case) so it was really easy.

another easy way to get a foreign ditto is from Pokémon Home, you can request certain Pokémon in trades, and you can even specify why country you’d want your Pokémon from :)

I was lucky enough to already have a Japanese Ditto way back from my Pokémon Ultra Moon copy which I also used for shiny hunting. I just Pokémon Banked him into Pokémon Home. I’m glad I didn’t have to do a lot of surprise trading.

The way I like to hatch eggs is doing the rotom rally, I’m breeding for shiny sobble and doing the run from the daycare in the wild area to the dappled grove hatches eggs pretty fast, then just fly back to the daycare and pick up more eggs, and do the same thing. I hatch 5 eggs at a time, and doing this method I can get through lots of eggs really fast.

Shiny RNG is a weird thing in Pokemon. Using the Matsuda method I managed to hatch a shiny Ralts in just over an hour, meanwhile I'm currently 1000 eggs into Poliwag and still haven't hatched one.

I’m using these methods to try and get a shiny eevee. I’ve been playing since gen 1 and NEVER have encountered a shiny. Umbreon is my favorite, black and blue are my favorite colors so it just makes so much sense! Wish we luck!
