25 Things To Do After Finishing Pokémon Sword & Shield

This video will go over 25 things you can do once you've completed Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield! The post-game is what you make of it, with a wealth of options including getting involved in competitive battling tournaments, shiny hunting, and more!

1. Complete the post-game story that sends you travelling back to each gym to take on a Pokémon that has Dynamaxed and collecting the gym leaders rare league cards, defeat Sordward and Shielbert in a series of battles, catch the legendary Pokémon Zacian or Zamazenta depending on what game you're playing, and defeat Hop in one last battle. The game hasn't finished until you see "The End" screen a second time.
2. Pick up Type Null as a gift from the Battle Tower for completing the game.
3. Go to Hop's house in your home town and go to Leon's room, and receive a Charmander that is capable of Gigantamaxing when it evolves.
4. Complete six battles in the Battle Tower, where you will unlock the ability to check your Pokémon's IVs once you defeat Leon for a second time. You will also receive his rare league card for doing this battle.
5. Battle Marnie at Spikemuth for her rare league card.
6. Talk to Oleana in the Galar Mine for Rose's rare league card!
7. Talk to the Ball Guy outside of Motostoke Stadium for his rare league card!
8. Talk to the man that sells daily bargains in Stow-on-Side to get a Beast Ball - and make sure you visit him every day to purchase an incredibly rare item, things like Protectors, Quick Claws, and many items capable of making a Pokémon evolve.
9. Defeat Game Freak Morimoto in a battle in the hotel to the left in Circhester, he will give you an Oval Charm if you defeat him in battle, making eggs appear much more commonly.
10. Pick up your Catch Charm from the person next door to Game Freak Morimoto.
11. Complete your Pokédex! Not only will this unlock one more special prize, it has been made easier in this game as you can capture Pokémon not available in your game by participating in online raids for said Pokémon.
12. Once you have completed the Pokédex, 400/400 Pokémon, head to the same hotel, talk to the same person, and he will give you a shiny charm, which increases the rates of shiny Pokémon appearing by three times!
13. Now you have the shiny charm, shiny hunt! Obtaining shinies is the most popular thing to do in the post-game in the Pokémon community, and are an incredibly rare commodity. Shiny hunt for your favourite Pokémon!
14. Participate in max raid battles. If you catch the Pokémon you battle in max raid battles, they will have a guarantee of at least two perfect IVs, and five star max raid battles will have a guarantee of four perfect IVs, meaning it's so easy to assemble a large roster of Pokémon to begin breeding competitive Pokémon. Ditto is easily available from Max Raid battles and it's a great way to obtain one with four or even five perfect IVs!
15. Start breeding competitive Pokémon! There are various resources online that will help you get started, I'll link to them in the description!
16. Obtain the evolution stones and rare candy that respawn every day in the wild area, it will give you a little routine of things to do day to day!
17. Speak to the digging duo and see how many items you can get in a single expedition! This is a great way to farm rare items like evolution stones and fossils!
18. Obtain the Lucky Egg from the restaurant in Hulbury by delivering food to the residents of Hulbury for the owner!
19. Reach the Max Rank in the Battle Tower, and obtain the Battle Tower uniform, this is incredibly easy to do using the rental teams from the guy located to the right of the building!
20. Rematch the Pokémon league, which is essentially the Elite Four, to take on gym leaders again from the story! This is a great way to farm money so you can EV train any competitive Pokémon you have bred, make sure to use the Amulet Coin!
21. Make sure to get the apricorn balls from the Ball Guy located in each stadium, this was available throughout the main story, these Pokéballs are incredibly rare and are a good collectors item!
22. The weather changes daily in the Wild Area, so see which of the rare Pokémon have spawned depending on the weather for the day!
23. Collect all the Gigantamax Pokémon, available exclusively in raids!
24. Get your Pokémon to level 100, by using the candy you'll have received from participating in raids! This will make raiding by yourself a million times easier!
25. Participate in online battles and the ranked tournaments that The Pokémon Company will be hosting online over the course of the next year!

@@clabo44 Yeah every time you make 5 new curries then you get a new Poke Toy to play with in your camp. Example the WATAMEL BERRY ball is the next one your receive after making the curries.

@@auqustfire I wish too. It is easy if you just use one berry per curry. Each ingredient has 5 different curry flavors. The only hard one to obtain is the Giagntimix Curry, which I have only been able to obtain as an ingredient from Raid battles from a Gigantimax Pokemon. Also there are extra ingredients that are only obtainable from "wild Pokemon that enter your camp while you are camping" just speak to them.

Also i hope u found out what to do in the meantime but just in case ill answer u cuz yk what i want to As omeone with currently 170+ hours of having played shield and 30+ of sword (just finished that version + 8h of pokedex farming) i basically hunt pokemon to complete my pokedex which takes ages but feels so good in the end, farmed money to get the max amount possible then spend it all on clothes and repeat until i bought all the clothes possible in the shop, bought the dlc and finished it (planning on completing the two pokedexes of it too if i can) which takes up some time too and is rlly cool, andd shiny hunting which im still doing cuz its taking so long, ive fought 620+ wooloos and still no shiny, tho i only got the chroma charm (s that what it is?) today so yeah! Ill update if i remember more Update: its been a second since i commented this but i jist remembered that im trying to complete the currydex!! Im more than halfway through (completed 70+ different curries) but im struggling a little with getting the berries i need and getting bobs can (?) because its exclusive to sword and im completing it on shield. I really like how its not a typical plot tho. Its like instead of taking on a big bad team, you're just trying to take on the challenge and solve the mystery of the Hero. It was a refresing light hearted mystery. I loveeeedd the characters. (If you harm Hop, bye😌) The Pokemon and gameplay was amzing. I actually really like dynamaxing because im pretty sure its a reference to how giants are tied with European lore.The Wild Area and Max Rye Raid Battles are suppers fun aswell. This game was fun.

First Attempt to beat Leon. I almost got at 30% HP at Dynamaxed. Then he wrecked every Pokémon I had. Then Second Attempt I beat him since I analyzed all his Pokémon Move-set. I have one thing to say yes it is short but we all imagine as a kids to play in the big screen and the graphics are gorgeous.You missed old days to lost in the caves ? I haven’t started my Violet game because i wanted to build and enter the competitive scene before I do. Brilliant Diamond? Takes you forever to level up, get mints & obtain botte caps. @@pinkiebroker7032 Just like shinies and genders, antiques are only registered into the dex when you obtain or encounter one (similar to if you haven't caught the species but have encountered it, the model alone unlocks). So chances are, you have encountered/currently have one. The only best way to check is Dynamaxing the Pokemon to be able to see the symbol under it. Or it may be possible to catch a glance in the camp.

You're not missing much. The rosters for Raids fill up fast, so most of the time you'll try to join and the game won't let you. They should fix it so the announcement goes away once it's filled.

Giganta implies giant, while “dyna” implies dynamic, so the interesting change could be dynamaxing and just large transformations could be gigantamaxing. Applin can evolve into both forms in both games. The pie form is gotten by giving it a special type of apple and maybe leveling it up I think? I'm pretty sure you can find the apple on "axew's eye" island or whatever its called. its in the middle of the first lake in the main wild area. The only reason I know this is because I got both evolutions before I got Pokémon shield and I had wondered what the item was for before I figured it out.

I know a lot of people think the story is bad, but I personaly really liked it. The main strive fir our characters is to beat the gym challenge to fight against the champion. After so many games where the gym challenges where just kinda...useless it's really refreshing to have them feel important for once becouse all characters put so much pation into them. While our characters go on on there journey to become the champ you have this ongoing mystery in the back, slowly burning away. A mystery legend with overcovered details, snepids of conversations, earthquakes and weard happenings which let you know that there is something going on from which the main character doesn't know yet becouse the adulds for once don't rest the regions future on the backs of literal children for once. And when you finally prove yourselfe and hell breaks loose it's great to finally see the full picture, step up and defete the evil to be able to reach your original goal and become the champion afterwards. It also feelt really nice that the MC wasn't stupidly overpowerd in the end to just easily destroy whatever legebdary-godlike-pokemon was the end boss. I myselfe had my Pokemons around level 60-63, which is pretty high compared to the gym leaders. But my MC would have stooden no chance against the big evil if the two legendarys didn't show up to help me and Hop out. The characters where much more interesting for me as well. Hop especially for once is a rival whos name I can actually remember becouse his and the MC's relationship was just so natural, while it always feelt kinda forced in the older games. (Specificly talking about the games from Black and White to fourther in the past since I haven't played Sun and Moon and X and Y yet) While some may say the game is shorter, I'm pretty sure the main reason for that is that you don't have to grind as much as you had to in earlier games. Leveling your team up is much easier here becouse they all get xp in battles AND when you catch a pokemon. But that isn't bad in my opinion. It finally gives me the motivation to actually fill up that damn pokedex becouse I wasn't stuck leveling up to fight some useles top 4 for days. So all in all, I love this game. From it's natural story to the great character, amazing lokations and sound drack, to it's graphics. Pokemon Shield has landed itselfe as my number one favorite pokemon game. (Beating Pokemon Black which I mainly loved becouse of N, abd Pokemon Saphir which I mainly loved for it's "have a secret house" mechanic becouse I just can't remember what the story was about)

I'd personally rank SwSh's postgame around the middle in terms of which gen had the best post game. It's good, but it just doesn't feel finished (like most of the game and imo I think the devs got hounded by the higher ups to release it asap for a holiday release and weren't allowed to ask for a delay to fine tune the game. They really deserve a break tbfh)
