Hey Jev so a few tidbits: 1) When you die, even if it’s due to the environment like falling to death, your blood echoes will be imbued to a random enemy in that area. They are slightly stronger and have glowing eyes. 2) Your gonna need some pungent blood cocktails for the blood starved beast, at least for the first half of the fight. 3) When the Blood Starved Beast gets to half HP itll have poison damage attacks and can instantly kill you with a grab attack. Fire is useful against it. 4) Human sized enemies and medium sized enemies including bosses and obviously other hunters can get stunned from a well place shot. Usually it’s whenever they do a heavy attack, as the regular faster attacks are harder to time correctly and you’ll end up wasting bullets.

Nah just beat this boss earlier just buy the poison res set from the fountain with insight. and then heavy charge attacks first phase and only light attacks for the 2nd keep antidote in quick items and yea. the poison res really helps buy the time you need to heal and antidote. 3rd boss down. 5 attempts only put the res armor on for 2. Lot easier than it was in high school where I beat him with no res armor and suffering.

The reason your blood echoes “disappeared” is because when looking for them they will always spawn in the last location you were on solid ground so if you fell it’s no where you fell but where you fell from. Also unlike other souls games enemies in bloodborne can pick up your echoes indicated by their eyes glowing blue which I think is what happened to your 10k and unfortunately hunters can sometimes pick them up too

If you miss optional bosses and go back to find them at the end, do NOT beat the final boss. It instantly sends you into NG+. I didnt know this my first playthrough and was pretty disappointed when that happened. Edit: also blood echoes can be absorbed by nearby enemies and the only way to get them back is to kill them. For parry timings, shoot when the attack is coming down instead of when it’s winding up

I did the same thing and wasn't able to do the DLC until my second playthrough. I waited a few months to beat the game again and it was worth it, all of the DLC is great. Best bosses in the game, even Orphan of Kos.

Near some of bosses in Bloodborne there are summons, including the boss fight with the Blood-starved Beast. They're located either near, outside or in the general area of some Bosses. In this instance it's just at the bottom of the stairs you go down outside the boss fight with the Blood-starved Beast. They look like lanterns (like the ones you use to go back to the Hunters Dream) but they have a glowing reddish aura oozing out of them.

KIND OF IMPORTANT: Insight is a form of currency in Bloodborne. It is gained when defeating certain bosses or by using Mad Mans Knowledge. It can be used to purchase certain items at the Insight Bath outside the higher area of the Hunters Dream (outside where you upgrade you weapons) and it also makes certain areas of the game or bosses slightly more difficult and if your insight is too high you will see certain things you didn’t see before (THIS IS ONLY REALLY IMPORTANT FOR THE LORE). For the most part, just keep your insight low by spending it so the game is easier in areas and so you can buy certain items. Hoped this helped ❤

There is also a nice armor set sold there that is pretty much just for this boss. Buys the time you need to heal and antidote. On top of slowing poison build up. Now if it hits you the build up is still fast but again you can heal and antidote in time. Also, a summon is available to help for this boss. (We def don't use summons though) just have to be patient and dodge like a boss.

There’s a shortcut in old yharnam btw. If you go into the building where the wolf jumped through the door, you’ll see a gate that you can open. This allows you to jump down some of the roofs near the lamp and have a faster route to the boss

hey jev, glad you're enjoying bloodborne. wanted to tell you about a mechanic in bloodborne they don't really show you. weapons in this game have combos, for example, the saw cleaver has a particularly strong one. R1 L1 L1 R1. It just does more damage. For example, if you are 3 shotting enemies in an area, if you hit R1 L1 instead of R1 R1 you might two shot instead.

Pro tip, saw cleaver is really good because of it's bonus beast damage from being serrated. However, the longer mode hits with the regular edge, thus no longer being serrated. So using it in long mode can sometimes be detrimental. My guess is people want you to do L1 combos, which you can combo switching modes into your attacks, and they can be VERY powerful. Also, followup from later in the video. Save your madmen's knowledge, there are certain enemies that can DRAIN your insight, as well as certain game mechanics becoming more difficult with high insight. Some enemies don't even SPAWN with low enough insight.

the thing in the top right is indeed your "insight" it is a currency you can use in the hunters dream but its also a lore thing. the shop to use it is up on that little ledge above the blood echoes shop. you gain insight from the items you have been picking up and when you first enter a boss arena and kill a boss. Keep killing em soldier, your doing great!

Hey Jev, another general tip, you should almost always be agressive. Dodging forward past the boss is most of the time the best option, or sometimes directly to the side. As enemies and especially bosses have a lot of forward momentum.

At 10:33-10:34 if you look close enough you can see the hunter, with a shining purple haze to his eyes. To retrieve your blood echoes you need to defeat enemies sometimes.

On the right, a little before you fight the blood starved beast there should be beast blood pellets (Which increase your damage by a lot when you use it, but only last a short amount of time) pick those up and try to also look for pungent blood cocktails. When you get into the room with the beast use one of the pellets and then throw the pungent blood into corners/walls to make the beast attack those corners/walls the pungent blood only last like 10-15 seconds so you should have at least 4-5, now it should be wayy easier to kill the beast. Hope this helps

hi jev ! so a few tips coming from someone who plat’d bloodborne 🫶🏻 - on the lower layer of old Yharnam where the werewolf jumps out at you, if you go into that building and go up the spiral of steps, there’s a door that you’ll be able to open, so you won’t have to continuously go from upper old yharnam to the lower part. - if you search around the area of the lower layer, you can find pellets which boosts your dmg ! - always have antidotes on you especially for Old Yharnam, Nightmare Frontier, & Forbidden Woods as most of those areas are usually covered in poison swamps with poisons monsters ! - when you do a full heavy attack on an enemy from the back it staggers them, you will know once you hear the little chime noise. - when you have a lot of echos and die, they are usually transported to any near by enemy, you will be able to know because their eyes are glowing white, and you have to kill them to get them back. - one last tip, if you are too scared to lose your echos because you have a lot, equip the “bold hunters mark” this is different from the “hunters mark” which is purely brown. bold hunters mark ( it’s a gold / yellow color ) makes it to where you go back to the nearest lamp with your echos. hunters mark ( the brown one ) makes you go back to the nearest lamp, but you lose your echos. i hope these help! excited to see you fight the next boss (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

A good consumable to use during boss fights are beast blood pellets, they increase youre damage output the more you attack and for blood starved beast, pungent blood cocktails make him attack the area you throw them instead of you for easy damage

Higher Insight gives you a higher resistance to Frenzy which is a late game ailment, similar to Madness in Elden Ring. Higher Insight also gives new moves to some enemies which probably makes them harder.

Hey Jev I don’t think some people has said this yet so here I’ll go: the blood starved beast can be slain easier by one of two ways, using the blood cocktails along with buffing yourself with beast blood pellets which you’ll get in Old Yharnam in an ally way. But beware, once you pick that up a beast will drop from the wall. Use both the fire paper and beast blood pellet once you enter and then go to the right wall at the far back so that you’re closer to the BSB (Blood sStarved Beast). Throw the cocktail at the wall and go ham on it. Please do the L1 switches because they cause more damage and has a higher damage multiplier. Use that method until the beast is dead. If you need more cocktails then they can be purchased. The second method is to summon Alfred to help. Alfred and other NPCs can be summoned for some bosses. The HP of the boss does raise but a half but Alfred can take the agro off and if you can, you can do a charged R2 attack on it’s back and backstab. It’s good to use both the fire paper and the blood pellets for either method. And finally, to get to the boss faster, there is a stair way where the werewolf jumped out at you and that leads to a door that leads to a ladder that gets you back to the huge door at the beginning of Old Yharnam. Dunno if you saw this already here is some info on the optinal/secret bosses. Imo they are worth doing especially Logarious. There are four bosses in Bloodborne which are not tied to what ending you go for that can easily be missed. Those are Martyr Logarious, Celestial emissary (super easy, you can beat it first try), and Ebreitas. You need to unlock two secret areas. Castle Cainhurst for Logarious and Upper Cathedral Ward for the other two I mentioned earlier. Said this In the last video but I was a bit late to the party so I decided to say it again. Another person replied and brought up Dark beast Pearl which is another optional boss that I forgot to mention before. There is also a key item called Third Umbilical cord; you get one after killing the second boss in the game and taking the lift up. The other you get by returning to the starting area and killing an NPC. Once you consume those in Hunters dream before the final boss you are now able to fight a second final boss and get the "true"/secret ending.

When it comes to which to do and which to skip. You have to beat the Celestial Emissary to reach Ebreitas. I have yet to defeat Ebreitas that's the only base game boss I haven't slain Ebreitas but I'm going to soon. I'll reaserve my judgement until after I beat Ebreitas. Logarious is a must do cause that area is too cool along with the quest line associated with it. All I remember about Dark beast pearl is that it looks cool.

Insight is a form of currency that can make the game harder in certain occasions but will also allow you to see some things as you get to 40 insight and higher. You can also see those things as you defeat a boss that will trigger the sky to change color. Insight can also be used to buy stuff from the upper messengers fountain, it's really useful when you need materials to upgrade your weapon. Insight will also be used to summon npc allies or other players for boss fights etc. One tip for the blood started beast is to not use antidotes since it will poison you again pretty quickly. Use fire, that blood cocktail and try to parry it and dodge into it.

Also, about what you said about not really needing transformation attacks, the basic R1s and R2s do work well, but combat in this game is Extremely dynamic, with Sekiro being the only Souls game with more complicated and dynamic combat. You will eventually find situations, where transformation attacks are very useful. Not Just transformation attacks either, but also rolling attacks, plunging attacks, backstep attacks, etc. Also also, be cautious about just popping Madman's knowledge. The more insight you have, the stronger certain enemies get, and your frenzy status will fill up wat faster. Plus there's 2 enemies in this game (1 DLC, 1 main) that will steal your insight Also also also (sorry, the more of this i watch the more tips i remember to give) your echoes upon death won't always just be on the floor. If there's an enemy nearby when you die, they'll absorb them, get purple eyes, and you'll have to kill them to get them back

The shooting mechanic is not an automatic stance breaker it is rather a parry. In order to be able to perform a visceral attack you need to time the shot with the attack just like you would a parry in other souls games. We’re enjoying the play through! Keep it up!

Idk if someone told you this but imma leave a few tips here cuz I just finished this game and platinumed it and I loved it so: 1. Your weapon (the saw cleaver) does more damage to beasts when u use the L1 form that's why the best combo you can do is R1 once and then spam L1. You can change your weapon if you want but the saw cleaver is very good (because of the beast damage that it does) but you can get the upgraded version (the saw spear). Remember the sewers? You cut a rope and a corpse fell down there with the rats and whell that's the saw spear and you can get it quite easily. There are lots of other great weapons but I think right now your best options are the saw cleaver, the saw spear, or the hunter axe (aka spin to win). You can get the best said weapon in the game except the dlc, Ludwig's Holy Blade after you defeat vicar Amelia (the next mandatory boss) and the blood starved beast. 2. Bloodstarved beast can be cheesed easily if you struggle too much with it but if you really wanna kill it pop the fire paper on your weapon, pop a beast pellet (you find these in the area with all those wolves right before the boss its sort of next to a house but u will have to explore, most op item in the game tbh) then throw a blood cocktail to a wall, go behind it, charge R2, visceral attack from behind, then again R2 and then visceral if u have time, then throw another cocktail and repeat until you kill it. Every cocktail lasts for about 10 seconds, and be aware of the second phase when it starts poisoning you. If you get her low and don't wanna risk it you can throw another blood cocktail and then back off and finish it off with Molotovs. The beast will drop off a Pthumerian Chalice which you can use to acces the renowned "CUMMMFPK CHALICE" which will give you 80k echos (look it up if u wanna use it) I recommend it just for buying consumables because it's a pain to farm for those. 3. You have character stories in this game and the are quite interesting ones (so is the lore tbh the best lore in the souls series my opinion) so if you wanna do those it's not that hard. For example the plague doctor lady with you encountered in the past episodes is a hunter that hunts hunters that go mad, and you can help her if you want. 4. There are other hunters that are not friendly to you (the one with the machine gun that you just killed or Gascoigne) but they have their motives which I find amazing for the lore. The hunter you killed on that tower dropped smth that allows you to buy his weapon and his friends weapon, just go back up there and the items should be on the ledge. 5. The insight is let's say "knowledge" that allows you to see things in Yharnam that you wouldn't normally see without "knowledge". For example when you get 50 knowledge go outside the cathedral ward where you picked up that armour set and you saw the wierd blue light and you will be enlightened =). Although by the time you get that much insight this will be clearer anyway 6. This Is quite a large comment so I will stop here but in the next video I will comment some more about the bosses if u want or the lore or anything you need to know just ask

I know you probably won’t see this Jev but as a general rule of thumb: use fire and serrated weapons for beasts, and use lightning weapons for humanoids and the alien looking monsters. Hope you enjoy the game, it gets horrifying eventually. Good luck!

A tip about pistols/parrying! (I don't remember everything about the game so this may not be the most accurate) You can go for a parry with your gun on any attack I believe but certain enemies have higher poise then others and need to be parried multiple times You won't get the noise or stumble you'll just get a regular pistol attack off but the poise will be weakend when going for the timed parry after doing it a few times you'll get the stumble

You should try using beast blood pellets and or the elemental papers. You can also get bottles of beast blood to throw that make beast enemies lose aggro (BSB counts)

If you go back to the tower that Djura the hunter in white was on you can get the Powder Keg Badge and unlock his weapon and armor. Also important story bosses are Father Gascoigne. Vicar Amelia. Rom the Vacuous Spider. Micolash host of the nightmare. Ebrietas Daughter of the Cosmos. Mergo's Wet Nurse. And Gherman. You can only fight the Moon Presence (The true final boss) if you have 3 umbilical cords and use them before the fight with Gherman to get the Moon Presence. Be warned if you go this path it will be a back to back fight from Gherman straight into moon Presence.

When you killed the hunter on top of old Yharnam, since he fell off the map, the game didn't give you the item he drops itll be on that gattling gun he was shooting on plus next time this happens you can exit to main menu and reload into the game and the item will appear instantly. And side note in bloodborne when a monster kills you or you die next one that was aggro to you they will have your bloodechoes

For those of you that don’t know, in Bloodborne, enemies that kill you or are typically occupying an area can actually absorb your souls when you die, meaning if you get killed somewhere, you will occasionally need to kill the enemy responsible for killing you in order to get your souls back You can also regain small chunks of health from enemies your fighting with the rally mechanic by hitting them as you’re hit or shortly thereafter. As a final note; most attacks especially in the early game are indeed parryable (including those used by the BSB, but you need to shoot it right before the attack would go through). The trick to the timing is shooting right in the middle frames between when the enemy winds up the attack and before they actually execute it. It takes a bit of practice, but it’s like riding a bike, you almost can’t unlearn the timing.

If you even knock an enemy off a ledge and you want their loot just quit out to the main menu and load back in and it will be sitting at the enemy spawnpoint. You can also do this in elden ring but most guaranteed drops from enemies are looted automatically so it’s easy to miss.

Watching a man whose gotten to the point where he can wipe the floor with Elden Ring get humbled by BSB was, interesting. I guess becoming a master of Elden Ring means you get used to and rely on QoL features that are non-existent in earlier souls games. I don't blame him ngl, I legit felt sick with anxiety when I finally downed BSB for the first time. But if he is giving up this easily on one of the first bosses in Bloodborne, not only is he gonna miss one of the best weapons in the game, he's gonna flat out rage quite when he fights the likes of Ludwig, or Lawrence, or.... The Orphan..... Dear god, not the Orphan.........

@@mithex8414 the problem is that he's been spoiled by the quality of life features in Elden ring. He's played the game to death the the point where he relies on things like spirit ashes or op weapon arts to get by, so when he's stripped of those powers, he can't function. I'm calling it now, he's not gonna get through the DLC, there's no way, he's gonna rage quit at either Ludwig, Maria, or The Orphan, or he's gonna summon a viewer who actually knows how to play the game to beat them for him.

Jev! Sometimes in bloodborne when you die with alot of echoes an enemy that spawns near by will have them. They will look different than the other mobs it’s nearby as well. It will also have glowing eyes. Idk why they did that with this game but if your echoes ever disappear like that it means you have to kill a nearby enemy.

Note this! Even though there are a lot of “optional bosses” most of them aren’t really optional as they give you items you will need to upgrade gear. If you don’t have them the game is practically on extra hard difficulty. Fighting blood starved beast will give you access to chalice dungeons which aren’t that important but other optional bosses give you much more important things.

At 12:43 when you mention how attacks sometimes stun and sometimes don’t is why L1 transform attacks are so important. They deal more damage and have a greater chance to stun. Spamming r1 is efficient to an extent because later enemies could just power through or parry you.

A tip for parrying especially against bosses that constantly move like blood starved is stand still or move into them so you don’t miss the bullet. Because of the rally mechanic you also can get away with trading on parries and most times you can get back up and still get the visceral to recover health.

you only get a chalice from this boss used for chalice dungeons which do give you decent loot and theres a certain one that gives you 87k blood echos everytime you load it but other than that either come back later or try the alred summon near the stairs that go down from bloodstarved beast

Hi Jev, the DLC has some of the best (and hardest) boss fights in the entire game and is well worth checking out! Also, like other souls games, Bloodborne has multiple endings that allow you to fight additional bosses so if you’re interested in that I’d look for a spoiler free guide!

as most series on YT are, the views will go down as each vid/episode progresses, but those of us that love this game and seeing newcomers enjoy it too (which is a lot of us Bloodborne fans), it will still be enjoyable. Don't end the series just because the views aren't as high in the end as they were for the first few installments. That's always how it goes unfortunately but even still, worth playing just for the personal experience of having played the best videogame of all time

After defeating the Boss you Could look up codes for farming dungeons if you wanted to :) Incase you dont know you can open custom dungeons on the left side of the hub when u spawn but you need an item from that optional boss to do it. Much more efficient then farming the map early

The swing transformation gives just a bit more damage. Upgrade your weapon right and it becomes a horde sweeper. The eye icon is your “Insight”. More insight permits you to see things you couldn’t before (won’t spoil what) and also alters certain character resistances. I also believe it alters certain enemies and their spawns but that I’m uncertain of

blood starved beast is a must. U gain the ability to use chalice dungeons, and a new door opens up in chatedral ward lanter. The door leads to a chest to get the most op weapon in the base game which is ludwigs holy blade. it also leads to a secret spot that allows you to experience the "ture ending"

I doubt you’ll see this Jev but the more insight you have and the more mad man’s knowledge you consume the crazier your character gets. You start to see things you won’t normally see. When you collected the hunter gear and you were wondering what spawned, the more insight you have and mad man’s knowledge you consume you’ll see those but they will kill you 5:44

Just a lil bit of info: you want your insight to be low as possible usually. It can change the enemies in the area depending on how much you have and make some areas more difficult. Insight can also be used to purchase items which is useful if you have lots of insight and don’t want to deal with hard enemies spawning because of it. Some bosses (not gonna name them) also change depending on how much insight you have. Just another cool detail about this game. Edit: please correct me if I’m wrong about anything here.
