Tentacreul with ice beam would not kill the Altria. It would bring it to half health and die the next turn.

Guys, aside from the Mauville game corner, which you still need to be lucky enough, to get 4000 coins for, ice beam is in the Abandeoned Ship and needs Dive, which she can’t do yet

Well Pin Missile is 4x super effective on Nuzleaf, so....

Quoting the most educational reaction to Jaiden Animations’ Ruby nuzlocke, Seedot, while it was her encounter, is not a great Pokémon. Seedot learns almost no good moves by level up, and Nuzleaf’s secondary Dark typing does it almost no favors. The entire line learns no Grass moves by level up (excluding Nature Power) and only learn Dark moves for STAB. Furthermore, they are very frail Pokémon with 7 weaknesses, including a double weakness to Bug moves. Obviously, while Jaiden did get attached to her Nuzleaf, if you made the mistake of not knowing your opponents’ learnsets, it would’ve been gone eventually.

Actually, I also keep wondering how can her nuzleaf was knocked out by zigzagoon's pin missile at first. And then I remember that nuzleaf are having 4x weakness to bug type moves since it's a grass and dark type pokemon.

The Tentacruel v Altaria match would've been a toss-up. While Tentacruel is faster, Altaria is bulkier.

I don't know about levels, but if Tentacruel has Barrier, it's not weak to Earthquake anymore, can out-defense Dragon Dance, and with how fast it is, it beats Altaria 9/10 times if it has Ice Beam. I'd imagine.

I played an Emerald Nuzlocke, and during the battle with Winona, I almost had the exact same team as Jaiden, and my Magnemite and Tentacruel both lived on 1 HP after an earthquake, and my Swellow cleaned up. I am still in awe of that battle to this day. AND I DID A NUZLOCKE

As for the tentacruel, if the tentacruel is faster or higher level and can strike first ice beam will work. If it’s slower or lower level that earthquake will send it to the Pokémon center

I don't think a Tentacruel would have killed an Altaria.. depends on the moves Altaria has, Swords Dance would be too overpowered.

Altaria has Earthquake, Dragon Breath, Dragon Dance, and Aerial Ace. Those Dragon Dance boosts really stack up, and Tentacruel is weak to Earthquake (a physical move) and doesn’t have great defense (so would probably die to a Dragon Dance boosted Aerial Ace).

My first Nuzlocke was on emerald and my starter was a Groudon with guts so after catching a Krogre, mew, moltres, snorlax, and a slaking I was pretty much set. I then went on got two master balls throughout my hoenn nuzlocke adventure. I then got my legendary static before going to the elite four and it randomized into a rayquaza even though it was a rauquaza originally so I replaced mew with it. I then went to checked the regi’s to make sure statics where randomized and it was in fact randomized. It was a truly awesome experience and I had an amazing team so now I am going on to play leaf green and platinum nuzlockes let’s hope they aren’t as lucky as these because at some point you want a true challenge. To be fair I did fight a lot of legendary Pokémon with things like speed boost in almost every gym and some pretty important trainers you can’t skip so it wasn’t a slouch game.

the twins and wallace were a breeze for me in ruby since i had a level 65 sceptile thanks to winona and her cursed altaria i had a level 50 sceptile when i took winona down so rest was easy peasy
