I really like the way she played it, she took into account the NICKNAME rule. That emotional attachment, she even stresses it in the video. I understand that you might want the strongest team, but that kinda neglects that rule to an extent. Also it makes her a really cool trainer, anyone can win with strategy, but she made it harder. Respect.
@sketch37444 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what point you're attempting to make here? somehow nicknaming your pokemon means that you can't build the strongest team available to you? either you're missing some critical pokemon knowledge or you forgot to type up like half your comment cos how do you go from nickname rule to building the strongest team neglects that rule? seriously why did over 500 people up vote this?...
@Forslimjims4 жыл бұрын
@@sketch3744 The point was that the rule to nickname your pokemon is to build attachment to them, building attachment to your team makes it emotionally harder to swap them out for a better pokemon with less emotional attachment. 595 people upvoted this because they understand why Ash used his shitty pikachu for the entire series.

@@Forslimjims I'm very aware that the idea of Nicknaming them is to develop emotional attachment but this genuinely in no way makes the game harder. Ash used his shitty Pikachu for the whole series because of an emotional attachment he made with it through exclusive reasons that he did not have with his other pokemon. If every pokemon is being nicknamed there is no exclusive reason in nicknaming them to prefer one over the other. If she prefers one over the other, it's not due to nicknames as every pokemon is nicknamed. She also either plans to or actually does many times throughout the nuzlocke sacrifice certain pokemon she loves in order to win...So again I ask. WTF do you have to smoke to come to the conclusion that nicknaming pokemon means you cannot arrange the strongest possible team available to you? Can I have some? How did 595 people get their hands on OP's stuff and how did 46 other people get their hands on yours? Gotta love mob mentality: "why actually think for myself, or at all for that matter!" Edit: Literally the comment below these with 9.2K upvotes: "Yeah, Jaiden used to do competitive battles, so she's pretty good at knowing things and knowing when to make sacrifices." Just did my own Sapphire Nuzlocke adopting Jan's rules: - No overleveling the next Gym Leader. - No items during battle except Hold Items. - Set Mode Had a few pretty humiliating losses: - Lost Gyarados to Norman's Slaking. - Lost Marshtomp to Machoke's Revenge on Route 115. - Lost Manectric to Milotic on Route 120. - Lost Banette to Foresight + Revenge from a Machoke on Route 127. (Revenge was my worst enemy in this Nuzlocke, I also learned what Foresight does) - Allowed Wailmer to evolve because I forgot Wailord doesn't learn Water Spout until 44, which I was planning on using to take out Tate & Liza with ease. - Lost Wailord to Archie's Sharpedo. - Lost Meditite from missing Hi-Jump Kick. But in the end I had some victories as well: - Used a Grumpig for the first time (kind of bad, but still cool). - Learned that you can get items like King's Rocks and Focus Bands from Linoone's Pickup. - Learned to beware Foresight, as mentioned above. - Deathless Winona because Castform is a monster. - Deathless Wallace because he can't touch Shedinja at all (kinda felt like cheating tbh, but only a little since Shedinja was underleveled and could barely do damage). - Learned of the devastating power of Ninjask's Swords Dance + Baton Pass to Armaldo. - Deathless Pokémon League Challenge. My team in the end was: Ninjask (Swords Dance/Aerial Ace/Slash/Baton Pass) (Shell Bell) Armaldo (Ancient Power/Protect/Slash/Fury Cutter) (Sitrus Berry) Grumpig (Psychic/Confuse Ray/Rest/Bounce) (Chesto Berry) Castform (Hail/Sunny Day/Weather Ball/Thunderbolt) (Nevermeltice) Walrein (Surf/Ice Beam/Rest/Encore) (Chesto Berry) Flygon (Dragonbreath/Earthquake/Crunch/Strength) (King's Rock)

The math is off here. While 8 EVs gives 2 hp at level 100, they will only give 1 hp at level 50. For her level 32 Magneton who got 160 hp EVs to lose 2 hp it requires 24 EVs to be missed, in this case 12 marills. So if she didn't KO 12 of those marill (and instead KO'd something else for the levels) she would have lost Zipzapzop.

I will forever LOVE Breloom. Why? Here is a story! I've been playing Pokemon since red and blue, and I had a real life rival who I was never able to beat. Junior high high school, never beat him. I eventually made it my goal that I would at least be m in one game. Stanley happened in X & Y. I got a male Breloom who I named The Duke, taught it Mach Punch, and gave it a King's Rock. (In case you didn't know King's Rock has a chance to make the opponent flinch.) It was a close match and he eventually killed all but The Duke. He had two Pokemon left, one was almost dead and the other was at full health. I was able to Mach Punch it and cause it to flinch allowing me to kill the full health one. And being that it's Mach Punch always goes first it was easy to take down the one after that that was almost dead. So after almost 13 years I finally beat him thanks to my Breloom.

So... That being said, this is one of the best reaction videos I've seen, he's a very polite guy who offers really helpful advice without coming off as know-it-all. You can tell he loves the game, and is enjoying watching JaidenAnimations play for the first time. I legit never comment, but this video has earned both a comment and a subscribe. Great Job!
@krystallinekris3 жыл бұрын
Oh, no, he does come off as a know-it-all, but in a respectful sense... Especially if you've seen some of his other videos. He does have a bit of an ego, considering how long he's done Nuzlockes and all the experience he has in them, but... *usually*... he tends to be mindful that not everyone is as good as him and tries to be helpful and give positive criticism for the most part. I enjoy... I'd say about 80-90% of this guy's content, which is pretty good ratio I think.

@@r.r.4563 The comment was 7 months ago, and I understand it's part of the character. I think it was for the Jaiden reaction for Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke. I like him for that stance. So this happened to me like last week, I started a new pokemon insurgence run, made it a nuzlocke, went to route 1 and caught my encounter which was a nidoran male, pretty sick if you ask me it's good a decent typing and good stats and move pool albeit a bit slow. 30 seconds later i step through some grass and i find a shiny nidoran male and suddenly I have brothers in arms pinky and bluey and they carry me to victory, as I make one really bulky and defensive and one really offensive with earthquake and stuff like that.
@Predated24 жыл бұрын
@@frostyfloofy6786 I tend to have a graveyard box in nuzlockes because there are only so many different locations you can catch a pokemon in and even if half of your pokemon get wiped, most of the time, thats still not enough to fill the entire box anyway. I dont know 100% certain, but I kinda doubt if there is any game that has more than 30 unique catching locations.

Part of the point of the rules in a locke is for you to get attached to your mons, that's why you name them. They wrote the script really well, and I love it.
