I encourage everyone to come and see Poland. Very low crime rate, hospitality, nice people (though might seem a bit distant at first glance), good and still improving infrastructure, cheap mass transit, lots of historical sites, beautiful vistas. I'm proud of my country, it's true. Come and visit Białystok and Podlasie, with Białowieża forest and lakes surrounding Suwałki. You won't regret neither the nature nor the cuisine. Also, people here who are in their 30ies or younger speak English well enough to show you around and have a nice chat. Only one small request. Please do not behave like those drunk English tourists who visit Krakow in droves and piss all over the place;) (not all of them of course!)

Too many American vlogs on Poland offering little more than the basic highlights listed in every guidebook. You would think KZbin might have fostered more of a Globetrekker approach to travel, e.g. Alternative Poland! Off the Beaten Path Poland! And the horse riding adventure is an excellent example of the alternative travel activities Poland has to offer. Loved it. You also both have very watchable personas, and the camera work is flawless.

@@micham5315 Are you drunk? It is "na zdrowie" or, in the more joking way - "zdrówko". "Na zdrowie " ("lets do it to be healthy") has it roots in the medieval ages and the way of drinking vodka in the old Poland .Vodka was drinked in Poland in a small amount since the medieval ages up to 17th century (still in Polish way you should drink it very cold, in a very small glasses, also to feel for a moment a special taste of good vodka) , and was treated as a kind of very fine medicine (for good digestion or feeling warm during the cold autumn, winter). Poles preferred beer and vine at that time as an regular alcohol, and vodka - as a good, small starter of the dinner or good thing for saying good bye to your visitor from the neighbourhood. The word "vodka" (properly "wódka" - voodka) is the diminutive of the word "woda" ("voda" - "water"), and is the translation of medieval Latin name of such a strong alcohol - "aqua vita" ("woda życia", "the water of life vitality"). In 12th-13th century it was also called in Polish "okowita" (okovita - from aqua vita). In 16th-17th century vodka came with Poles to Russia (at that time Poles ruled a big part of Russia or were just a big culture influencer - it depends on the period). Russians took the concept of distillation, the name "vodka" and toast "na zdrowie" from Poles, but not the way of drinking it (they drunk it and, traditionally, drink it up to now from the normal glasses, not cold and because of it often not so tasty). Also, started to made it not from potatoes or grain as Poles, but only from grain, more available at that time in Russia. In 18th century vodka became the tool of controlling peasants in Russia. It was a rule, for example, that if the wife of the peasant (being in a serf system) take her husband home from the special vodka-tavern , to keep him sober, her hands would be cut.

I just found this channel and I’m amazed how good your pronunciation of polish words is. I mean name of the cities, etc. Big thumbs up for that mate! I’d recommend going to Krakow and Wieliczka salt mine if you haven’t been there yet. Cheers for sharing this video, greeting from London!

My favorite place for holidays in Mazury. Many times visited and many more to go.

@@vagabrothers it is true. Poland does not know how to promote the country. We travel every year from Australia to Bartoszyce and Galiny is where we visit regularly. Thanks for promoting beautiful Poland.

Akurat mieszkam na warmi i fajnie wiedzieć, że jacyś obcokrajowcy się tym miejscem interesują!😊😊

I've been to Mykolajki and couple of other Warmia Mazury towns but not those you've mentioned and visited. Really nice place to stay. In town of Ilawa there is the biggest inland lake in Europe

Isn’t it gorgeous up there

Jeziorak in Ilawa is the third biggest lake in Poland. The biggest one in Poland is Śniardwy, which is close to Mikołajki. Sorry for pretending to be smart, I was born in that region. :) The biggest lake in Europe is Onega located in Russia (not far away from Sankt Petersburg).
