Dude... you've missed Złombol, by few weeks. You have to check it out. The name is a play on the infamous Gumball, but złom in Polish means a lemon or a junk car. It's a rally that's a charity event. You can only enlist cars that were available in Poland during communism. Since they were all lemons the name created itself. This year they chose to go 3200 km to the Atlantic road in Norway, and then they will mostly be going back in the same cars. So almost 6.5K km total.

Yellow number plate in Poland means the car is registered as a historical monument. At least 75% of It has to be original components. These Mercs are not rebuilt. They've been kept and maintained in pristine condition.

@@MrGreenAKAguci00 Thats not the point. You said they are not rebuilt because of this. But using oem parts and the need for only 75% is not that big of a deal. 25% non oem parts meets the criteria for a lot of modifications or tuning. Most tunings dont come even close to this but will change the car quite a lot. 75% is not a hurdle to be very oem so to speak. in germany the car must be fully oem. Only safety relevant or era specific tuning (first ten years after release of the car) are possible. Like you could do the 'König Breitbau' on several cars and still get historical plates.

I was totally joking about them being “ruined” as that’s what a lot of people will say haha As far as the restoration comment, a car can be both fully restored and modified, it’s commonly called a restomod. I own one, my E30 was torn down to a bare shell and fully restored but also modified with a M3 V8 🙂

It's not that the builds aren't nice It's that they are no longer road worthy. They are trailer queens that will only see a few miles. For a decent driving car many of them are ruined haha. He's doing clickbait anyways if you couldn't figure that out that's how it goes...

Amazing show! I'm with your dad. My '69 427/435 Corvette has been with me for 55 years. Cars come and cars go but I love this car above all else. At 77 I still drive it four days a week. It's definitely "old school" with no high tech electronics to break every other day. With 185k miles on the speedo, it's still going strong. I won't ever sell it. For sheer fun, nothing beats a big block C-3 Corvette.

@@piratiniwood547 yeah of course, for a Dutch almost all of Europe is eastern Europe. And for a Brit? Not even 'almost'!:)

I cant remember where the green Drift HQ corvette had its body kit sourced, it may have been Poland, but its VERY over the top.
