Poland's Thriving WITHOUT 3rd World Immigration: Lessons for the West

Rafe Heydel-Mankoo

Күн бұрын

Rafe Heydel-Mankoo speaks from Krakow, Poland. He contrasts the healthy, confident and patriotic society and dynamic economy found there - and elsewhere in central & eastern Europe - with the declining society and economy in Britain and western Europe. During the Cold War central and eastern Europe looked to the West for salvation and inspiration. Now, in the 21st century, is it time we in the West looked East?

Europe brought in the worst migrants possible. They barely have any education, no skills and add zero value to the society. Then you have folks from South East Asia, East Asia, even South Asia like India and some Latin American countries. These people focus on education and come here legally for education or with a job offer, and don't shove their culture and religion on others.

Visited Northampton two years ago , the wife and I were stunned ,we thought Leicester was bad enough. As You look around the city at the buildings it’s England, lower your gaze to street level and god knows where you think you are , Africa , South East Asia , the Middle East . The few people we did see who looked like indigenous locals turned out to be Eastern European when we could hear them speak . Dirty ,run down shell of a city . The countryside surrounding the city it seemed was also being trashed with vast housing estates being built , all on farmland.

Me too. Born here in the late 70s, lived here all my life. I don't know about you, but I feel it's getting worse week by week - the change is that rapid. I can walk in the town centre, and in every direction I look, I'll be a total minority, perhaps the only white person, and I won't hear English being spoken at all. If I hear a local accent in the town centre, it's something of a novelty - that's not exaggeration - how bad is that? I don't know why or how this has happened. It feels like the heart of Northampton has been ripped out. Also, have you looked at the ridiculously high house prices here lately? It's all so heartbreaking. I went to Kettering to scout it out, and the town centre feels like Africa. Then there's Wellingborough..... just forget it. Are there any places left in the UK where the culture is more homogeneous?

I moved to Kraków from the UK in 2018 -- best decision of my life. Poland is struggling with wokeism, particularly in education and the media, but 123 years of foreign occupation and nearly 50 of communism mean that the narratives of "decolonisation" and "white privilege" simply do not apply here. The problem is that there are fewer and fewer people on the world "market" with the "qualifications" mentioned above who would be willing to emigrate. And an even bigger problem is that - as many things indicate - your elites do not care at all about maintaining the cohesion of the British nation. I get the impression that it is quite the opposite... their desire is your disintegration. Funnily enough, Poles who came to Britain a few decades ago are now returning to their homeland in droves, having had a bellyful of cultural enrichment. No doubt Starmer would call them racist for doing so. It looks beautiful and a great place to bring up kids in peace and safety. A bit like Britain in the 50's.

I am a regular visitor to Poland, in fact am going again later this month ( September '24), Rafe is correct in his assessment of Poland. The economy is vibrant, there are no tensions resulting from mass uncontrolled immigration, there is no welfare for illegal entrants. Borders are protected and foreign criminals deported. In fact Poland is the exact opposite of overcrowded England on many levels. It is a joy to be there, it certainly reminds me of the England I grew up in. I fail to see why any Polish citizen would want to exchange this relatively harmonious society for multicultural, multiethnic, crime ridden and overcrowded England.

Actually it is not true to say there are no immigrants in Poland. Poland took in over a million war refugees from Ukraine and there are many others from Bielorus. They have mostly blended into the work force. You don’t notice them because they are indistinguishable from the Poles and all their languages are similar. Also there is a Moslem community in Poland. They are Tatars who settled there many years ago. They follow their religion and just fit in. I have just returned from a holiday in Poland. When I got back to the UK I felt so sad, realising what had been done to our country. Poland was razed to the ground in WW2 but instead of rebuilding in the modern style that generation decided to recreate what had been. Consequently the centre of their cities still have their “Old Towns”. As Rafe said, they are aesthetically very pleasing. Poland is spotlessly clean and you notice people walking round in a relaxed way, without any fear of a machete appearing from nowhere. It feels very safe, is well organised and high tech. The Poles suffered so much in their history. Perhaps at long last they will come into their own. Except, of course, the EU and their Migration Pact wants to change all that.
