I noticed that Germany didn't really have a good AI on frontlines. The AI will try to guard the Western and eastern front before the war. But the Russians usually declare first, then Germany will send ALL the troops towards eastern front, leaving only 1 division per tile in western front. I also noticed that Germany tend to secure only their border with France, if Belgium in the reichspakt, they don't defend it until the very last minute. TLDR, Germany tend to leave little troops at western front if Russia declare first, few troops, no entrenchment and no air usually is why western front collapse.

As one of the KR team, thanks for playing, and I’m glad that you had fun with it! Working on this thing can feel a bit thankless at times, so it really does mean a lot to us 😄 While I do really love to see people playing the less expansionist paths, I am sorry that you happened to pick one of the *only* Polish paths that can’t easily get more territory. You have to stay liberal if you want to get Krakow with no fuss as the kingdom - the AuthDem monarchy is probably the version of Poland most hated by Poles, lmao. Otherwise, you have to hope that Lithuania or Ukraine end up outside of the Pakt, or that Austria ends up collapsing entirely. The cost of being Germany’s personal tank park. The Republicans can get most or all of Galicia easily, since they actually have ties to Austria - but they’re also the path least likely to end up in a war, so maybe not up your alley. You *can* path through the People’s Republic to get Galicia, and *then* path to another non-monarchy government, but it’s very convoluted. As you might expect, most of Poland’s expansion comes from the far-left or far-right paths. The leftists in particular specialize in making *very* big Polands (that aren’t technically called Poland, but details). The nationalists can also get Poland’s universal claims, but have one subpath in particular that can just go ham on everyone around it, and is probably the most difficult thing that you can do as Poland - although it’s not “expansionist” in the traditional sense. (Nota bene on that particular path: you need the nationalist revolution for this, and the particular version you need CAN’T be gotten by letting the nationalists win the elections. This confuses some people sometimes. I just recommend going AuthDem like you did for that.) But yeah, the bottom line is that there is a relationship between how much you can expand and how much you’re willing to chop yourself off from Germany. But I’m glad you enjoyed Poland regardless! I think it’s one of the better updates that we’ve put out recently, and we’re pretty proud of it. Thanks!

@@Bitt3rSteel I consider Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania to be some of our best countries at the present - the first two were made by the guy currently reworking Germany, which is pretty good news for it. Romania was made largely by the same person who made Poland. Serbia and Romania are fairly similar and have the same fundamental campaign arc (kill Bulgaria, then kill Austria), but I highly recommend them both. Bulgaria has a fairly basic campaign of “pick a faction, fight the Weltkrieg” after the Balkan War, but fighting that war is a pretty interesting uphill battle in of itself. Otherwise, the Baltic Duchy is also pretty good and has some nutty military stuff if you don’t mind playing a very similar campaign to the one you just did. National France (the one in Africa) is also very good, but it can be a tough game - however, it is a good tag if you want to go from a low-to-middle-weight country to a potentially quite strong one. Patagonia is also very good for that. And finally, many players speak very highly of playing in China, particularly the Liangguang Federalists or the Left Kuomintang, both of whom appear out of the League. Those can both be pretty chaotic but fun campaigns. The next update will also be going back to China, so that might be a good time to visit.

If you want to do actual conquest, I recomend with either going with the sindicalists or the nationalists. The totalists in particular are pretty fun and hard as you get to claim the land of the Commonwealth while at the same time you have to fend of german attacks during the weltkrieg which is pretty hard as you are practically surrounded by them.

One feature I would love to see in either a future DLC or more realistically something like HOI5 would be the ability to either take control of AI divisions of your allies or at least have them listen to pings you place on the map. You could equate it to how Eisenhower became the overall commander of allied forces in Europe. That way you could hopefully avoid situations where the AI stacks all of its divisions on a frontline, clearly outnumbering the enemy then proceeds to do nothing which happens way too often.

Expeditionaries work that way but they're limited. Pings should assist the AI in decision making though, I believe. I have pinged countless times in SP only to realize I'm alone and the AI wont help. lol

That was extremly early war, probably why Germany struggled so much. In my run I played the centrolew route, got together with Austria, got Galica back, and then waited for the war to happen until like August of 41. By that time Germany was so powerful, that they soloed both 3rd Internationale and Russians xD

If you want to get Galicia and Lodermia from the Austrians you will need the Centrolew to win the elections , after that the military will interviene and put the auth dem in power .You don't need to do any focuses with the monarchists and wait for protest events to pop up . After that let the protesters eneter the capital and make August abdicate .And finally you will declare the republic and can join the Austrian faction for Galicia and Lodermia. Good luck!

Bittersteel, there is a Great War Redux submod that I've played that expands the focus tree of the Great Qing! I've tried avoiding the civil war (you can with this submod), but it's quite difficult. You should try it, given you've played the Qing quite a bit. It's called Reworked Qing.

This exact situation happened to me. Nationalist won and I had to fight on both sides. I created 10 light tanks and I was able to push the allies back to the Rhine but I couldn’t go even further. I had no man power on scrapping the barrel like 40 divisions in total and I was just in pain

You should try the country roulette mod! It randomly switches your country at a set interval of anywhere from 30 days to 2 years. You’ll be playing multiple disaster saves from the AI in one game

I have tried this when Poland was just updated, except in my game Ukraine joined Russia, Germany was getting completely rolled, the entente was useless and Serbia + Romania + Italy completely stalemated Austria. I ran around with my tanks putting out fires on three fronts, managed to cap Romania, Serbia, pushed back Italy, killed millions of Russians and French but Germany was impossible to save they just keept loosing units and inevitably collapsed when I had to go stop Russia, who had reached me by finally killing all the other minors who also were diing slowly without Ukraine.

I feel your pain... In my Hungary run. I took my time and defeated the Austria and the Serbia faction in 38. WW2 in 39 and I helped Germany, for the next 2 years I did nothing but a fireman... And at the end fucking Germany still lost. I was so exhausted from that campaign that I need a break from hoi. Fuck.
