YAS that is my FAVORITE Jane Eyre adaptation, as well! (Tasha did good) It's written by the same screenwriter who did North & South (if you haven't seen that, it's on Netflix and AMAZING), as well as the 2009 Emma, which is also my favorite Emma. And Toby Stephens is my fave Rochester--I just don't care for Michael Fassbender's, which a lot of people like. I didn't know they added it to Hulu! That's great news as it's been hard to find on streaming for years.
@polandbananasBOOKS6 жыл бұрын
Definitely going to check those out! I'm so behind - I haven't seen any of these classic adaptations! =D
@AlexaDonne6 жыл бұрын
Oooh... you should watch next time you need something really romance-y and angsty. North & South is basically 4 hours of unresolved sexual tension (the LI, played by Richard Armitage has his own mini-fandom) and Emma is a longer, more drawn out version of Clueless with Jonny Lee Miller as the romantic lead :D
@salemtaylor16 жыл бұрын
polandbananasBOOKS you should check out new Little Women adaptation by PBS (if I recall correctly) - so good. And North and South and Emma (2009) - as been previously mentioned - are painfully good. The storytelling and acting - just marvelous

I am OBSESSED with the show Viva! That show is only six episodes long but it's so original, poignant, dramatic, and intense! It's about two sisters from East LA whose mom passed away and leaves them the building where their mom ran a rundown bar. Now they have the choice of whether they are going to keep the bar or sell out! So excited for the second season!

Yay! I honestly loved solo so much and I don't understand all the hate it was getting from fans! I've always been a star wars fan since I was young and I agree that there isn't as much character work in the films and a bit too many fight scenes, so to see a whole movie on his backstory was just great!

Jane Eyre is such a good book! I highly reccomend it. I don't normally read classics because i normally find them very word heavy but I didn't feel like that at all while reading Charlotte Bronte's book. You should read it and share your thoughts (just be prepared to spend a long time on it because i found I had to take breaks while reading and normally i fly through novels).

I too didn’t like season 2 of thirteen reason why nearly as much, but I just want to talk about the scene in the last episode where they play the song that Hannah and Clay danced too, and Clay just walks to the center of the dance floor and cries and they all hug. That got me sobbing so hard 😭😭

Actually, when I watched Shut Up and Dance, I also guessed the twist, but it's still one of my favorite episodes of Black Mirror, because even when I knew the twist, strangely enough I was still kind of rooting for him, which has never happened to me, at least to this extent. A personal favorite of mine is White Christmas if you want some twists you won't see coming. 😊

Personally, I was introduced to Pride and Prejudice through an adaptation, which has completely changed the way I feel about what happens in the book. If you want to give P+P another chance, watch The Lizzie Bennett Diaries on KZbin. They take the original concept and make it so much better and more modernized! Seriously, it's FANTASTIC! Also, I agree with you about enjoying Star Wars, but not loving it the way a lot of people do.

You also put on eyeliner and blended that eyeshadow, super fancy. I felt the same way with the Last Jedi. I'm a SW nerd and about three quarters of the way through I was just bored. The fighting was just so drawn out. I wanted more character scenes and fewer explosions. And then right as you'd get reinvested in a scene, they'd cut to another set of characters. (I love that version of Jane Eyre, btw, it's the version that got me to read the book.)

With the stories of the PAP time and all of those. The stories I have read (and it's few because I find those stories very difficult to read) I found that there are many characters like Darcy. I hated pride and prejudice when I read it in my senior year of high school. I fell asleep reading it many times and the very heavy dialoge made it more telling than showing, which was very much against my creative writing classes I was taking. So when I found the lizzie Bennet diaries five years after the original telling of it, I was dismissive of it to start, but it had one of my favorite KZbin actresses in it (Mary Kate Wiles who plays Lydia) so I decided to give it a chance. LBD is a multiple channel KZbin series that tells the story of pride and prejudice in a modern way. It gives arcs to characters and has made me cry multiple times in the many rewatches I've done. It may make you appreciate the story more and the characters. In the book the only character I liked was Mary, but in the series it gave all the characters (eventually) an arc for the most part. I don't know if you have seen it. If you haven't I recommend giving it a chance. Maybe with the playlist on pemberly digital as it has most of the in world videos (all of the important ones anyway)
So Kat's things i'm loving video got me to finally start watching Timeless. 4 days later I've finished binging 2 seasons, and need the 3rd one yesterday, but they might not be renewed😭😭

I'm currently watching Thirteen Reasons Why but I'm not as invested as with the first season. I find the premise of the polaroids interesting, but I when I started watching I expected that to be the "new tapes" and now I kinda forget about them. That could be because I don't binge it like season 1. I find it hard to place the new flashbacks into what we already know. (That could be me, I have the same problem while watching Once Upon A Time) I plan on finishing the show and I'd like to see what they want with the announced third season. I do think that maybe they should've stuck with the first season and give it a closed ending. I think limited season adaptations of books could be really amazing, hopefully they'll do this with Looking For Alaska. I read War Storm by Victoria Aveyard on audiobook and it was amazing! I listened to the whole Red Queen series on audio and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
