Episode 7 of Castle Rock is incredibly heartwarming and the most character focused episode. It's also very artfully filmed and incredibly moving, in the context of the show I find!

I'm a hardcore King fan and it still took me a few episodes to fall in love with Castle Rock. I like finding characters that I can get behind and root for. I am attached to "the kid". You find out who he actually is later in the season. I honestly don't care what happens to anyone else in the show as long as he pulls through. Love your "Stories I ate" videos. I get some of my best book and movie recommendations from you! Thanks so much.

Eighth Grade was so accurate I cringed and cried the whole time, when she wanted to burn her memory box, I was so emotional. My best friend and I talked about middle school memories the whole way home from the movie, and it made me so empathetic to people in that position now.

You should definitely read the Crazy Rich Asian books! So many amazing and funny moments had to be cut out. But I feel that a lot of what made the book/movie funny for me was the accuracy of crazy Asian behavior that Asians specifically relate to ( I’m Chinese-Filipino btw). It’s also interesting to note that a lot of the characters represent real life rich Asians, and it was super fun trying to decipher who is who. I think that it’s still a great read in order to get a new perspective of a different race :)

But did you see the extended versions of TLOTR? The extended versions has a lot of beautiful moments that they cut out of the theatrical versions, such as Aragorn healing Eowyn, Arwen rescuing Aragorn, just more beautiful scenes that break up all the fighting.

I’m close to finishing THE ATLANTIS CODE by Charles Brokaw #1 in the Thomas Lourds Series ( Well 2 more pages of Epilogue so basically finished) I saw on Goodreads there is a lot more in the THREE DARK CROWNS Series so I might start that series next. As for shows started watching a lot of (for me) new Anime from several years ago. Can’t wait to try and watch “You” and AHS:Apocalypse this month. As for movies I never go to them anymore for many years now. Used to have this card that let me go unlimited times for a small fee a month but if I never went anymore that subscription is useless so I ended that like 10 years ago. I did watch the remake of CARRIE on Netflix after having put my little niece and little nephew to bed after looking after them last Saturday. It made me wonder why we had Scream TV Series and The Exorcist TV Series and not yet a Carrie TV Series. Always love your videos Christine! Kinda surprised KINGDOM OF ASH isn’t an upcoming Monthly Booktalk yet... or maybe for December?

Omg I’ve been contemplating watching Lord Of The Rings movies too for a long time. I already watched the first one. Like Lord of the Rings was actually happening while I was growing up but I kind of ignored it a bit. Like I tried when It was happening but I just don’t think we connected then. So I just focused on the Harry Potter and Narnia series. Now that I’m older I’ve been wanting to give it another chance.

I loved 8th grade... It is SO SCARY because it is so real... exactly like middle school
@juliakeeton69536 жыл бұрын
I hated 8th grade, maybe because I’m in 9th grade and still in this time of my life. But my whole body was tense the entire movie. I never once relaxed. It was just excruciatingly awkward moment after excruciatingly awkward moment. I actually had to leave the theater several times because I just couldn’t stand it. It was like someone filmed there day and with a little editing made it into a movie. Would you want to watch that? It was just a little too real. I feel like though awkwardness is a big part of being a teenager, there is also a lot more too it. And this movie only captured that one aspect. There was just never any relief moments in this movie where you could relax. I will say the acting was AMAZING. But overall just really didn’t like the movie.

Frodo is the most annoying, whiny character ever. Sam is the real star, without him Frodo would have drowned in his tears or something.
@trashyaqua62396 жыл бұрын
Eh frodo did get frustrating at parts but that was the ring’a effect on him. I think Frodo and Sam are both the main heroes in this story. They both need each other. I found Frodo to be very courageous actually when he takes this burden on himself and deals with it at the council. I could see how you would find his character annoying because some of his choices are very frustrating, but I don't think ”whiny” is a word I would use. I just think your judgement of the character is very unfair.
