So… the reason people were having problems with aftermarket bushing is as follows. Standard Traditional kingpin trucks use .5 inch bushings. Longboard or reverse kingpin trucks use .6-.65 inch bushings. The polar bears have a .6 in bushing board side and .5 in bushing roadside. This is one thing that attributes to their surfy feel and its the reason i love them so much. More bushing on the board side adds to the cushiony feel. Hope this helps some people!

Not skating right now, but I got a pair of these years back when I was trying to get back into it. At the time they were very new on the market. In any case, you're correct that they won't work at all with regular skateboard truck bushings...that would throw the turning geometry way off. If people want to ride them "tighter" they will need to buy the correct size longboard style bushings that are harder than the stock ones. Usually not sold at most skateshops. As for my 2 cents, they were like a lower, more stable Indy to me. I actually liked them a lot better than Thunders which I also rode on a board at the same time and during the 90s. Anyway for the Polar Bears I put them on a custom made 9'' x 33'' popsicle board with 15.5'' wheelbase. That thing rode great, especially for an old man trying to re-learn and keep feet on the board. Unfortunately the deck company is out of business now...might give skating another shot someday when I can just for fun.

Hi nice review! I was wondering if it's possible to do a carve turn in a bowl without lifting the wheels when they are set up loose? (like with a surfskate)

your trucks would be have to be insanely tight to get up on two wheels. when i carved around the wheels always staid on the ground.

@@SkateDadz sorry my bad. I should have been more precise. Do you have to do a kick turn at the top of a half pipe or can you carve it like on a surfskate

@@SunriseSessions you can do either. if your trucks are loose enough you would be able to carve. I carve around in the bowl all the time with them. a surf skate is gonna have a tighter turning radius if thats what your asking. a normal length skateboard is going to need a larger area to fully carve 180. if you want to do really tight carves your gonna want a board with a very short wheel base. like a dinghy

I have a set a set of Polar Bear 180mm (10in) and LOVE them on my bowl / park board! Can you confirm the axle length on the 155s for me? (End to end) I have been debating on get a set of them. I messaged Land yachts and asked them what the axle length was and they just said 155 which I'm pretty sure is the hanger length... 😒

from my understading there sized " 155mm Polar Bear Black Skateboard Trucks - 6.0" Hanger 8.75" Axle" so the axel is 8.75 inches and the hanger length is 6 inches

130 polar bears are a pretty much perfect rail match for an 8" deck. That's the setup I skate as well. Wheels sit just under the edge of the deck ✌️
