Your paint and decal work are on point. She looks like a ship to be proud of! Nicely done. I know from experience that this thing isn't for the faint of heart - you did well!

Thank you so much for the comment, I sincerely appreciate it. It was a fun but exhausting build for me. A lot went wrong with the lighting effects and the lights for the hangar bay were supposed to be "running" with the sequential effect. That effect worked for awhile then failed. I ended up going with "non-running" lights in the hangar bay. I have since started on the TOS Enterprise in 1/350 scale. That project was put on hold as I have experienced "Burn out" on the building process. I'll give it a break for a while and hopefully get re-inspired to finish it. Thanks again for watching the video and for the comment. Best wishes!

Thank you for your vote of confidence! I was determined to build and light this kit as I have seen so many on KZbin that look awesome. To me, these starship models are a true test of patience and thinking out of the box. Having a knowledge of what lighting effects are available is also good to know as you plan the build. I learned so much "AFTER" this build that would have really improved it. I have the TOS Enterprise to build in 1/350 scale but I'm still recovering from this build. I need to regroup my nerves before starting that project. Thank you again for your comment and for watching the video. Best Wishes!

Thanks! This was my first starship model to install lighting. I learned a lot during this build. I have the the 1/350 scale original series Enterprise waiting to be built. Hopefully I will not make the same mistakes that I did on this build! Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment. Best wishes!

Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching the video. The model has been a great joy to look at after it was completed. However, just recently, I flipped the switch to turn on the lights and the flashing LED's on the end of the nacelles stopped working. This has been a fear of mine ever since I completed the model. What do I do if the lights stop working? It is impossible to access the insides without destroying the model. I don't think I will ever spent the time to light up another starship model. I was working on the 1/350 original (TOS) Enterprise wiring and put it aside for a while. I will finish that model but no more lighting for me. Thank you once again for the comment and for watching the video. Best wishes!

Nice job. I own the kit but have to practice before I can take it on. Your seam lines are amazing and really great lighting work, congratulations.

Thank you for the comment and for watching the video. As I have mentioned before, I learned a lot on this build. If I could change just one thing it would be the placement of the LED's for the saucer section. Those LED's were placed too far back to do a good lighting job. The decals were easier to apply than I thought. If you go that route, just have a good supply of setting solution on hand. I used an entire bottle on this build. I wish you the best of luck on your model. Best wishes!

I haven't gotten the nerve to tackle this model yet i have two of them . right now am working on the TOS enterprise
@modelsbymonte2431 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronvandoorn1276 I did it just the opposite, I built the re-fit first. I have the TOS 1/350 scale started but I got burned out and set it aside. That was about a year ago and I still haven't picked it back up. You definitely need to be in the right frame of mind to build and light one of these kits. Also a huge amount of time is helpful as well. Good luck on your project and best wishes!

Great work! These Aztec decals can go good or bad - yours turned out great. I've done the 1:1000 scale Reliant and Enterprise. Polar Lights sells a supplemental decal kit that includes aztecs for both ships. Personally, I think they're too dark. The contrast between the hull and Aztec shading is supposed to be very subtle but I think they stand out way too much with that decal set. Yours look like great.

@@seismojones Thank you for watching the video and for your comments. The decal application was at times tedious and a generous application of decal solvent is a must, especially on the compound curves. I utilized two different sets of Aztec decals to get the results I wanted. There are areas where I applied decals on top of decals to get a different contrast. I have seen models where the Aztec effect was painted on. There is no way I would have gone that route. I have also been told that I "cheated" by applying the decals and not painting. Well, that is a personal opinion. But, if anyone thinks applying these decals is simple and easy, they are in for a huge surprise! Thanks again for your comment and best wishes!

Thank you for the comment, it is appreciated! I was very disappointed recently when I turn on the model to show a friend. The beacon flashing lights on the back of the nacelles quit working. I have no idea at this time as to how to even attempt a repair as the model would need to be dissembled to assess the wiring panel. I have come to the conclusion that I will no longer light starship models. They look great with all the lights but such a disappointment when they stop working. Thank you again for the comment and for watching the video. Best wishes!

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate them. Best of luck on your Enterprise build. I'm disappointed with mine. I was enjoying the model the other day, watching the lights blink and noticed something wrong. The strobe lights on the end of the nacelles were not flashing. That really made me angry. I started the 1/350 TOS Enterprise and have already started the lighting effects. After I complete this one, I decided that from now on I'm not lighting any more models. Heartbreaking to turn on the switch and the strobes don't flash. There is no wat to access the interior of the model without doing extreme damage. It is now simply a static display. Anyway, best of luck on your build and thanks again for the comment and for watching my video. Best wishes!

This is my favorite design. Where the entire lower level is just a big bubble. I think it would be cool if the entire saucer was a big bubble too. With only 14 or 17 rooms because that's all that you would need. If the entire ship is a bubble. It's more realistic.

Thanks for the comment! I'm not too sure I follow you on the bubble design but it sounds interesting! Thanks for watching and best wishes!
