I had the 2016 570 but totaled it so I had to go bigger. I ended up getting the 2017 Touring 1000XP. This is so wicked. I still haven't made a video yet, but I will very very soon. Just waiting on a few more part. Polaris is my fav man. Great video by the way and nice bike. Love green

Deerector Thanks man. How'd you total the 570? I never owned a Polaris but sure am enjoying this one.

ljonesto last winter we were riding over train tracks. We had to keep jumping over the tracks to get to the other side. Everytime u jump the tracks u come down pretty hard on the skid plate. You can't do it softly cuz then u get stuck. Even 4wd don't work. Cuz u got the tracks stopping the wheels, and the rocks are moving when the tires spin so you can only give it gas and in one shot get over them. So, over the course of the winter I was ever so slightly denting in my skid plate. Eventually one day the track grabbed the oil pan drain bolt. This bolt is normal we'll recessed but. But because of the denting in, it was now almost sticking out. This is how it got caught. So I put a crack in the oil pan without knowing. Then that day we were riding through snow and puddles and slush and all that water was forced through the crack and my engine seized. All milky fluid was pouring out from underneath. This happened in seconds. Brought it in, and just what I thought, hydrolocked the engine. 😳

ljonesto now I know not to jump train tracks. At least not the ones that are built on a gravel mound. Anyone reading this, if ur gonna do it, use plywood and put over the tracks and use it as a ramp so u go over nicely. Take it from my friends wife who suggested that , AFTER I totaled my shit lol.

Thx for the vid. I have to pick up my 570 sportsman next Monday and I will be putting these on the same day. This video will make it a little quicker for me to put them on

ljonesto I went with the Indy Red. I started the sales order over the phone and told her that I didn’t like the green. After I got there and saw it in person I realized that the green actually doesn’t look bad. By that time there was already a sold tag on my red one. Lol It’s been ready that just didn’t have the lift kit in stock that I wanted so they ordered it and it took a couple of days to arrive.

Wondering how well these keep wind off hands. I've got heated grips & these seem a good idea but they're way further away grips than I thought they'd be. Was also hoping for more install tips/video.

Out of everything Polaris makes...the hand guards I am the least impressed by. I put mine on and the setup just isn't what I think it "could" be. The mounts should have been built in a way that keeps them completely separate from "primary" mechanisms. I will be changing to a different hand guard this winter if they don't come out with something new....sadly.

HI im', installing mine today....did you put two star washers on each side of the plastic mounts on the guards or put one in between each plastic/metal contact point....like bolt with star washer then plastic then star washer then the metal piece, then the nut, etc..the instructions aren't that clear.

Love the look...just rode in a snowstorm the other day and the hand guards helped keep instruments clean and hands a little warmer...I have a 2018 Polaris 450 Utility Edition Ghost Gray.....I will get some videos soon. Thanks again for the info.

Why the 450 and why not the 570 ? Just curious
@ljonesto7 жыл бұрын
haus05 Couple reason I went for the 450. First budget, which was $6K out the door. I offered 5,999 out the door and they accepted. Second, the 450 actually has a 500 CC engine. My assumption it is tuned down a bit. My thought a 500CC not working as hard will last longer. There is also an option to have the ECU flashed/reprogrammed to get an extra 8-10 hp but I like to keep it stock. The 2016 450 actually has the 570 engine in it. If I knew this I might have looked for one. Thanks for checking out my vid. I also did the 3 light mod on it which I need to make a video on. You in the market for an ATV or already have one? If so what you got.
