I love the videos but the thread depth check is inaccurate. My ranger threads were at the base of the nut valley recesses barely visible so I took it apart and found that it did not back off. There may be different machining processes on different machines so beware. I have a 17 ranger xp900.

I just flooded my belt drive on a ride recently. Is there any particular cleaning that should be done??

I don't understand how the spider could be backed off. During use, the forces to move the vehicle forward cause the spider to tighten...always..you may get some loosening force in deceleration but nothing near what is generated in acceleration. The spider nut could possibly be backed off from lowering install torque if the spider tightens.

That was really cool of you to make that video to help people understand the primary clutch. Thank you.

I'm have a problem when i decelerate it starts jerking like maybe clutch grab or belt slap. Like it is engine braking on a off i have to brake to stop the jerking.

Is the thread height the same on the 1000?

I burnt my belt on my rzr 1000 and when I changed the belt I noticed my primary clutch bearing surface had burnt marks on it. I’m assuming it’s from when I burnt my belt. Does this mean my bearing is bad? It moves like it’s supposed to

our video on how to troubleshoot a primary clutch but sounds like you have a bad roller in the spider

Where can you get the blue washers? Mine is all chewed up from where the spider and nut moved.

I ordered the removal tools. What is the part number or nomenclature for the washer?

blue washer with us, on a parts diagram for a primary think speed limiting spacer

Thanks again! Hate to keep bothering you but since it is called a speed limiting spacer, is it required, will it hurt to leave it out?
@Hunterworks6 жыл бұрын
yes it is required, disregard what that is called. without it it will blow belts potentially. Too hard to explain here so don't go without it. Just a FYI manufacturers call things weird stuff that does not go with what it does. Yamaha has a gasket called a carburetor gasket that goes on the wet clutch
