Good job on the video! I just picked up one almost exactly like that a few weeks ago and haven't started on it yet. 2002 700 twin. It's in good cosmetic shape but needs a lot of work and I don't even know it it runs...but I only paid $400 :) Thanks for the videos!

Question need help pls. Im consider buying a 04 700 sportsman from a guy he says every since they put a after market carb on it that the Exhaust gets glowing red hot and has even melted some of the plastic. Should i run now or be worth trying to fix. Anyway what do you think is the issue? Thxs

Question what side is the fill tube connecting to? The pump side or the return side of the head?

If you cannot get a low temp thermostat take it out and use a washer, by the time the thermostat opens it is already cooked and back pressure pushes water into oil.

Your are lucky mine the pump is behind the crankcase, wonder if its also platic, she overheaded and worped my head :( Radiator sensor appears bad, but so fast to heat, and it overboiled into reservoir, I'm trying....

All the waterpumps on Polaris are the same. All have cover which the impeller is behind.

@@montemania198210 No not same, seen few models, some are independant outside access, mine is way behind the pully, 2 covers to remove, and no thermostat insight.

Hey I have a 2011 Polaris 700 two up I have a new radiator in it and the engine spitting and sputter and put a new stator in it new plugs empty the fuel out of the tank new fuel would this cause the thing to spit and sputter the fuel pump regulator not to fuel pump I meant the water pump thanks
@montemania1982102 жыл бұрын
Water pump leaking won’t cause it to spit and sputter. I would strongly recommend doing a compression test. Let me know what your compression readings are. Make sure you hold throttle wide open when checking compression

I have a 03 700 got a hole in the radiator and changed it and now I’m getting coolant pushing out of the overflow I’ve burped it. I did notice a few drips off the water pump seal think that could be it?
@montemania1982103 жыл бұрын
It very well could be. If it’s dripping it’s time to replace pump and seals

Bean counters at corporate Polaris made this impeller out of heat-sensitive plastic. I bet Honda & Yamaha didn't. (?). And the cover shouldn't be plastic either.
