Man you're killin me with the plastic pieces.....the center pieces come out
@ericfraser75433 жыл бұрын
You know those plastic grommets 1:00 you ripped out have a center pin, if you pried on that center pin they would come out without destroying them so they could be reused.

@torrentperformance question for you... My 2000 sportsman 500 cooling fan will not kick on, the coolant just gets to the point it boils over. I have tested the coolant temp sensor with a heat gun and it kicks on, and even replaced it. I can jump the sensor’s connector as well and the fan turns on too so I don’t think it’s an electrical problem. The water pump seems to be working because I can see coolant flowing back into the radiator with the cap off and the flow increases with rpm. This started happening after I replaced the coolant. Any ideas?

radiator cap with the spring isnt working properly Im guessing hard to say without it in front of me. Take the cap off and retighten it.
@morganathfab87273 жыл бұрын
@@TorrentPerformance thanks for the reply. It’s actually boiling over out of the reservoir, the cap stays tight. The fan just isn’t kicking on to bring the temp down. The coolant sensor works and the power going to it is fine, it’s almost like the coolant in the sensor side of the radiator isn’t getting hot enough. My radiator’s input and output hoses are on the left side and the sensor is on the right side.

What exactly is the coolant you use? I just bought a 2010 Sportsman 500ho and it didn't come with an owners manual. So I'm kinda lost...

TorrentPerformance washer. I have the exact same bike and I’m having overheating issues. So I’m going to use this video as a guide. But I don’t know what type of washer you are talking about. I guess after taking it off I’ll go to the hardware store

On the water pump? Get a new copper washer it may leak without replacing. Is the fan turning on for the radiator?
@ncbrothad4 жыл бұрын
TorrentPerformance no I had to straight wire it
@TorrentPerformance4 жыл бұрын
Ok replace that washer when you drain. Overheating is a big issue on that engine. What do you think is causing it. The amsoil coolant boost fluid you add to the coolant on change can lower temps up to 25degrees. I highly recommend it if your gonna do this.
