for your older style master cylinder they are rebuildable. pull the rubber baffle out with neede nose plyers, the whole thing comes straight out with a washer inside of it. polarispartsonline has the baffles and washers for $15 they also have the gasket for the master cylinder

I have a vacuum brake bleeder like that and I’ve noticed that elbow adapter on the end leaks air in and makes it appear like you still have air coming out of the line. I now don’t use the elbow and I have a hose on the vacuum bleeder that fits tight on the tip of the brake bleeder. That works much better.

Yes, the elbow sucks. What size hose did you use for the Polaris valve?

Brake calipers or Master cylinders don't last forever. Especially on a vehicle like a SxS or ATV that gets so dirty. Sometimes you have to rebuild them. I have rebuilt many brake calipers and master cylinders. It is not an impossible job. Kind of time-consuming. But you can get rebuild kits all day long online. And with just a few tools, you can rebuild these components. But sure, sometimes you can just buy a good use component and swap it out. ( but even the used one you install will need rebuilding at some point) But if that is not an option. You can rebuild these components pretty easily. Been there done that.

I would imagine that hole in brake hose would show pressure drop on mityvac gauge

I have a 99.Polaris 400 explorer with no brakes the master cylinder keeps going low but I don't see any obvious leaks wondering if this might be my problem

What do you recommend should I try bleeding the brakes first and check to make sure that piston in the master cylinder isn't stuck
@geraldbarney513 Жыл бұрын
You should bleed the caliper furthest from the Master Cylinder first, I.e., the right side, and then the left afterwards.

i have a 2006 scrambler, rear brakes (via the foot pedal) have never worked. Front brakes (via handle) have always worked great.. Any thoughts? It's been this way since it was brand new... fluid is right. do you suppose the rear caliper needs replaced/rebuilt?

I'm getting one like this but it's n 1987 and I have to put one on then air filter gas lines gas filter the motor is froze can I take the sp ark plug out and squirt oil down in the hole and let it site maybe I can get it moving are how would you go about getting the engine running from being frozen up get bavk with me mark
@richbadour60028 ай бұрын
Myself if not been frozen long just pull spark plug out and put kerosene or diesel fuel in let it stand a few days! Try working the crank a few times each day without putting on too much pressure as to break anything! Has worked for me a lot of times! Hard part is determining if it’s just the rings that’s frozen or something much worse!

Old rubber brake lines collapse. I did not know that. I found this out trying to get my brakes working my 93 Trail Boss. They looked fine on the outside but when disconnected from caliper and squeezing the brake lever HARD...nothing came out of one. Took them all off and sent to Paragon Performance to copy...can't wait.

I personally wouldn't do it this way to much time get a jug put brake fluid in it out a hose on the bleeder put the hose in brake fluid and back feed by hitting the lever it will pump fluid in then let off lever you are pulling fluid through the line at the same time do that a a few times don't have to buy anything
