You can also just ctrl or alt drag the channel with the polygrid in it to duplicate it and in each instance only leave the parts you need and delete the other components. That also allows for easy saving of the elements as seperate preset and avoids having to mess with routing.

but only if all elements are clearly separable and there is little or no cross modulation. which is actually the reason why you have everything in one patch.

This is a cool workaround for what, in my opinion, should be a baked-in solution (audio sidechain out). However, in my experience it’s simpler to just plan ahead and put separate sections into distinct layers of an instrument/fx layer. For any modulation you might want between the sections, the track-level and project-level modulators new in Bitwig 5 should have you covered.

the simplest way they could implement it is just how it works for plugins with multi-outs - have a dedicated tab for it that would be sitting before PostFX chain in the hierarchy. and then add option to Audio out module to occupy specific 'channel' with default being 1

@@x-iso Yes, that would be a good solution.

Or maybe just allow the "audio output" component to have a variable number of inputs (like the Grid's mixer and other devices) and add a '↓↓' button to the track header in the mixer view to unroll those output tracks (which the drum machine and other layered devices already have).

Thanks this video, thanks for sharing and I know it will be easier to integrate the grid in a Live environment.

Thank you. This is really really helpful

iirc if you put the fxlayer mix knob to zero you can grab everything postfader and so mix normally. Im still hoping we one day get both pre and postfader fx/device control that would amazing.

super valuable! thank you edit: im only getting mono out of this. you dont seem to have this issue, am i missing something?

Question what about usage of audio receiver module? That seems to me a more separated to concerns approach. Thanks to your way, my stomach feeling feels anyhow little hacky, which seems to be the only way. However, it would be cool bitwig guys make that more comfortable to set up. thanks and best regards

I was wondering : why using a tool device before the Grid audio out module since it can be also muted ? Is there any specific reason ?
@PolarityMusic Жыл бұрын
no, you can do that however you want :)

Why not just copy the grid parts into separate track?
@PolarityMusic Жыл бұрын
because you maybe have much more cross signals/modulations that you dont wanna cut?

Nice, I use this trick from time to time. Do you know what the sample rate is of the modulation signal? Is it the same as the project audio sample rate? And does this cause any aliasing? I'll run a test with some sine waves some time.
@PolarityMusic Жыл бұрын
not sure, im not a "null-test" guy, i generally go with stuff that sounds ok to me and move on. there are maybe people on the net who test stuff like this. but i guess there is some smoothing or aliasing happeing and the sample rate is probably the project sr

Again and again, one more Bitwig DAW's feature missing. The problem is that, tracks config is locked to a given source instrument instance. You have to update each channel input when you change instruments (ie. Instrument Selector). At the end, I spend my time searching for workarounds in this DAW... Anyway, thanks for trying.

Hey, how would you go about splitting a signal into multiple frequency bands in the Grid? Like Multiband FX 2/3. I tried adding a hipass/lowpass module with the same cutoff value, and modulated them both with the same macro. It seemed to work ok, but that's a bit annoying to do, especially if I want many band splits in one grid patch. I'm wondering if you know of a better way?

try out the bandpass filters (use the xp filter module)
