No matter how good I get with grid, you always manage to make me rethink how to do things. Thank you!

I am so excited to dive into “the grid”, I’ve never used anything like this and have always been a Cubase user.

I completely missed this one man. So nice! At some point in the future, I hope there is a better workflow for recording MIDI/audio output without all the shenanigans. It's such a useful thing to do, especially in Bitwig, it would be nice if it were a right-click away.

Use Voice Info to spread voices (reciprocal 7) and pass the phase through a sinemod to a slopes control set up to map to semitones, and *then* run it through a pitch buss.

Would be interesting to enhance this to pull in chords randomly from a parallel scale(s) to where you could record it and look for some juicy inspiration.

Very cool! Would it also work to feed multiple copies of your rounded signal into the ins of the pitch buss? Then you’d only need to perform the wrapping once.

not really sure, i have to check it

great stuff, but one question: when i put the Triigersmodule in the grid like you it dosnt work without a incoming midinote? i have to load a clip with a note in it and i have to load the midiinmodule in the grid! can yo maybe help? thankyou

I don't get any output from modules unless a note is pressed, how do you have bitwig configured to have note grid generate its own midi? Awesome video!

Voices = 0/mono (in the inspector)

Would it be possible to create such a thing with a Bitwig version before 5.1? So without the Pitch Buss?
@PolarityMusic10 ай бұрын
kinda, maybe with a quantizer and the right step size
@hadrienhartgers349810 ай бұрын
Genuine question : why not use a pitch scaler module ? Is it because it would destroy the original fifth ?
@PolarityMusic10 ай бұрын
you mean the pitch quantizer? that doesnt work. Its not about the notes, its about the relationship or the order in which you play the notes. And if you step around the circle of fifths, you will end up with all notes on the keyboard. so the quantizer makes no sense, because where not limited to a scale.
@hadrienhartgers349810 ай бұрын
@@PolarityMusic Oh yeah sure, thanks for your reply. I'm still talking about the pitch scaler which forces a range from 0 to 1 to fit into a range of notes. Apparently the Pitch quantize does something else. I guess it would be possible to use the pitch scale module but with logical values as input, making it still necessary to move the octaves anyway.
@PolarityMusic10 ай бұрын
@@hadrienhartgers3498no the scaler scales the whole signal or attenuates it. (squeezes it). the wrapper doesnt scale, it only wraps the values back in. hard to explain, but it does something different.
@crossmod10 ай бұрын
@@PolarityMusic So the wrapper is like modulo, and the pitch scaler is like map-range (take a value from within a defined range, scale it proportionally to a separate defined range)?
@fuglsnef10 ай бұрын
Why the wrap module instead of the pitch scaler?
@PolarityMusic10 ай бұрын
because i dont want to quantize to a note in a scale. I want to keep the notes in the same octave.
