This is reminding me of my glue gun, have to squeeze the button like my life depends on it, it comes out slowly and then runs out of glue.

American here: what is grease proof paper? Is it wax paper? Parchment paper?

Either will was paper or parchment suffice. Wax paper will smell like crayons when hot candy hits it, which is fine for Marines, but most folks find objectionable 🙃
