I have nothing but compliments for this video man. Every second was a pleasure and so well done. I started to type out everything I love but genuine the whole video was perfect. Also I was on the fence about getting the I2 but you've convinced me! Thanks for taking the time to make this!

Hey there, thank you very much video. It was a pleasure watching it. 😊 Well I actually own a onestep 2 for three years now and I love shooting with it and I really like the look of the Polaroid photos. So I am actually thinking about upgrading to the I-2, because I wanna have more control about my shooting. Beside the price, I heard a lot that the light metere is kinda off all the time. In the house it works okay, in the outside you need to step down 2/3 and if it is a bit dark, then you should go up until stop 1. Did you experience this mess? I mean I guess you can work around that and get a feeling for it, but I am not sure whether to wait for the I-3.. (if it ever will be released, who knows, but if so, it will probably take them three years or so to be released). What would you suggest me to do? Do you have to feeling that this is a huge problem? Thx in advance. 😄

Hey! Thank you for watching. Evenly lit situations produce good results for me whether indoors or outdoors (for instance the candy cart shot was outside and was metered in camera). But high contrast / backlit / off centred subject scenes are problematic. So I know to manually meter for those. If you are interested in manually metering for complex scenes then I2 is good. Having that control is sweet.

the metering is a very tiny spot in the "centre" of viewfinder. I still have to set -1 exposure compensation which is ridiculous considering the camera is supposed to be metering. Also my original I-2 had to be returned to polaroid as faulty (wouldn't eject dark slides ) and wildly wrong exposures!
@SathyaPeacock
@SathyaPeacock 2 ай бұрын
That must’ve been frustrating for you to deal with a faulty unit to begin with. Are you liking the image quality? Haven’t had wildly wrong exposures with in built metering yet. And I don’t think it’s a tiny spot, from what I understand it’s 60% of the optical field of view by a single photocell so meters the centre part of fov and disregards everything else. Polaroid does say on their website that its centre weighted but I don’t understand how it could be if it only averages 60% of the optical fov. Maybe it is centre weighted within that 60% fov metering area. But yeah, I agree metering lets this camera down.

hi! I’m debating on whether on getting the slr 680 or i2, do you have advice? I like the features of the I-2, like shutter speed, but I think the slr 680 is classic. would you say the outcome of each photo, sharpness and colour is the same? thank you :)
@SathyaPeacock
@SathyaPeacock 4 ай бұрын
Hi, I have not shot with the SLR 680 personally so unfortunately I can’t give you advice. I just quickly searched for prices on eBay for the 680 and it’s as expensive as or more so than the I2. For that reason alone I’d choose I2 as it’s a newer camera with warranty and fully manual features. Metering is not excellent if the lighting is uneven so prepare to manually meter for those instances with the I2. All the best :)

Hi, your video is great! I’m considering to buy one, but some people said it has the exposure problems ? How do you think? 600 dollars is not cheap 😂

Hi! The internal meter works well in some situations and does not work well in others. If you want to fully rely on the camera’s internal meter, I would not recommend it. But if you are happy to use an external meter then I recommend it for the image quality. Thanks for watching 🙂👊🏽

Definitely not worth the price. You are better off with a modded SX70 with BT module and external battery options as well as being able to accept i-Type film.
