But does the Fuji have the red dot? Everyone knows that red dot makes ALL of the difference...
@johndewhirst30897 ай бұрын
No mention made of the Leica Fotos app which interfaces with the Sofort. Apart from giving you the means to edit an image in Lightroom before printing, it also allows you to use the Sofort as a printer for images taken on other Leica cameras which has benefit in the field. The readiness to dismiss the camera because of its red dot comes across as inverted snobbery. Having used the Fuji equivalent the functionality of the Sofort is far ahead and imho worth the price premium.

Maybe a tip for all the Fuji Instax users: try letting your printed foto’s ‘develope’ upside down. The colours will be mutch better from your prints.
@MrWiseinheart7 ай бұрын
Hmm..Is there some scientific reason for this?
@emiliaganchorre3 ай бұрын
It's for the developing process. @@MrWiseinheart unlike Polaroid originals or Polaroid film it doesn't take 15 minutes to develop it really takes maybe 90 seconds so if you flip it over or put it in a pocket or in a place of sedude light it will develop properly. Also shaking the picture will also make it worse. Do not shake it like a Polaroid picture That's for older style film like roll film or pack film.

The Selphy 4x6" printers are actually a decent cost per print--about 35 cents US, which is quite competitive with Zink 2x3" (50 cents), Instax (75 cents), Instax Wide (100 cents), and commercial photo labs (40 cents). Unfortunately the printer itself is quite large, especially with the paper tray attached.

Leica is actively working to ruin their reputation with this one... - it seems that, similar to the Leica-rebranded Panasonic Lumix cameras back in the days, this is a rebranded Fuji Instax?
@TheUlitamateStunt7 ай бұрын
Leica have done something similar with their new L mount lenses, for example their 24-70, which by all accounts are rehoused Sigma glass costing twice as much but still half as much as their original Summilux F2 primes. I don't dislike Leica but it doesn't feel great that more of their stuff isn't actually their stuff these days.

@patrickwilson14407 ай бұрын
Your price is incorrect for for the colour film, it £14.99 for a pack of 20 and monochrome(black & white) film is more expensive at £9.99 for 10 .Prices in the the USA are about $15 and $10 respectively. But as has been said it's just a rebadged Fuji EVO in a different jacket i.e basically cosmetic differences only. So anyone might as well buy the EVO for about £200 and save the extra £150 you have to spend to buy the Leica unless on specifically wanted the Leica or just wanted the name Leica on the camera.

This is a repackaged INSTAX Mini Evo with Leica branding. Even down to the lens and back wheel creative options, the sensor and obviously the film. If this cameras functionality appeals to you, save yourself paying double the price just for the Leica branding and buy the INSTAX Mini Evo instead!

This is a $400 camera. And I can’t understand why? At least they should have put a 1 inch sensor in there. And I know they can fit one, because I have the dji pocket 3, and they are able to do it. They should’ve changed $500, and put a 1 inch sensor with autofocus. Dji was able to do it, and I think they did a great job. A small Leica camera with a 1 inch sensor that’s pocketable and can be used for casual shooting makes more sense than this toy. Just use your phone. All modern phones can produce better quality than this. And most people will be carrying their phone with them. So this just doesn’t make sense for me. I get the need for a “fun” pocketable camera just to take pictures. But this is not it.
@quikee91957 ай бұрын
That price is impossible for Leica. You''re thinking of a normally branded camera... it would be possible to do it for $400. But this is Leica - such a camera would need to cost about $800 at least. This is an Fuji Instax Evo camera with a Leica brand - Fuji Instax Evo costs $150.
@Mathew-vlogs7 ай бұрын
@@quikee9195 I guess you’re right on account of branding. Doesn’t really make sense to me because, although it’s branded as Leica, it doesn’t have the amazing materials Leica uses for their cameras. But I’m still gonna dream tho. 😂

You sound really positive about the image quaitly lol for almost 400 bucks this lens and camera is trashhhh and not really close at all to modern cellphones. Plus the co stand having to buy new film witch is pricey as hell is wildly not worth it. It's an endless money dump into bad instant print cameras just for the Leica name. There's way better instant print cameras for aaa lot cheaper film still is pricey but you could get better image quailty for a cheaper price tag this thing is hot garbage I was slightly excited at first then I saw the price tag and got a lil more happy then I say your test images and they were trash and very plain colored outdoor was a but better but just plain as heck not even cool effect can save that camera.

This is the worst of both worlds: you have to pay for film but you do not get the actual benefits of film (pretty colors and high enough resolution, plus no need for a sensor). Printing digital onto photographic film is a wasteful thing which should be reserved for expensive WB blockbusters
@lesliefranklin18707 ай бұрын
When you compare this to regular film photography, the price of film for this camera is not too bad. Considering a price of $13 for 35mm film and another $18 for processing and prints. The prices are almost equivalent.
@JonasPetri7 ай бұрын
...although 35mm film photography will give you FAR better quality in all aspects.

If you think this is a good deal, wait until you see how much cheaper bulk instax mini film is. Because that's what this is but with a Leica tax. No literally its the same hardware and filmstock
@lesliefranklin18707 ай бұрын
@@JonasPetri Yes, but 35mm doesn't give you instant photos from the camera. In that respect, similar to a Polaroid. However, you also get digital images on a microSD card to boot. It really depends on the use case.
@rchrd_sn7 ай бұрын
Ridiculous camera, imo. If it's to be an instant camera and fun to use, at least should be fun to look at, and not look like a cheap digital camera (tiny lens, tiny sensor, laggy image animation, and small print). An optical instant camera has to have a relatively much larger lens and has to be constructed in a particular way to keep it from being bulky, thus that typical Polaroid form. The photo is even smaller than Polaroid's (that old typical Polaroid, at least, in case they have some other size). Your mother-in-law has a good taste even for cheap things. She seems to be like, "It's not because it's cheap that everything goes, and the Leica badge and 'Made in Germany' inscription are not fooling me."
