Bought a kythera and I've been having nothing but problems. Right when I think I had it dialed in after watching so many videos I decided to watch this one before fielding it. Took it out to my next game and i had little to no hop. Bbs just dropping. Took it apart and saw grease everywhere on the nozzle down my barrel. Cleaned it all off from where I can see and then same thing. Opened it back up and grease everywhere again.I know very little about this kythera. Just been following every instruction video I can find. Do not grease where these guys say to grease it. Maybe where the o rings are only. And a very little tiny bit. Just give it an extremely light coating so it's not dry. I think I finally got this thing going. But only some heavy testing this weekend will tell.

I recently bought a used gun with the Kythera installed. I did some of my own changes to it and kinda messed up the previous owner's settings and tune. Doing some research I found out about the Kythera being notorious for leaking air. And there were a few people suggesting wrapping the hop up bucking with teflon tape to maintain a consistent seal. I would try this. You don't need it super thick(which you'll if it's too thick, the hop up unit will not fit). I test fired my gun with the Kythera and it is shooting noticeably further than before I wrapped with teflon tape. I also did this to my polarstar engine installed gun, and that made the same improvements! Also Idk if you bought the shims that Polar star sells, but as an alternative. I wrapped the front of the Kythera with teflon tape, enough to eliminate the move. Basically a cheap, quick temporary fix to see if any issues you're having have been eliminated. Good luck.

@@cameronp2951 The main seal is usually where it leaks (so the O-rings underneath the gold cylinder when you unscrew it.) If you put your finger over the nozzle and feel air pressure building up, try greasing all the main O-rings.

If you want the maximum Power allow on the field with a ARP model you need swap to the heavy spring and also swap the regulator 200psi spring to get the best performance because of the very short Barrel 😊

Just got mine in. How light of a trigger pull and reset can you achieve by tweaking the screws? Also from a scale of combat machine to hair trigger on a fusion how quick can you spam the trigger?

I'm getting a problem where the nozzle is feeding the next BB in too far beyond the lips of the bucking so that the BB just rolls out the end of the barrel if the hop is set to off. This is also causing a low FPS/joule readings. I was having an issue where I had the disconnector set too far and it wasn't ever catching. While I was in there I cleaned up the Kythera and re-greased it all. And now I'm getting this feeding issue. Before the system was set up perfectly and worked really well. I only had to set the MRS to 89PSI to get 1.5j using .32g BBs. Now I have to crank it up to 140PSI to get an very inconsistent 1.1j to 1.65j. I should be shooting a lot hotter using 140PSI. The only thing I did in addition to what is shown in this video is that I removed and replaced the metering set screw on the left side of the rear body. Could that be the problem? Did I put it back in improperly? It's the same one that I took out. Also, the bucking is fine. I have tested it by dropping a BB into the hop system and the BB sits nicely on the lips of the bucking as it should. The nozzle is over extending and pushing the BBs too far forward. Did I miss something in the reassembly? I've watched and re-watched this video about 12 times now just to make sure I did everything right. Any clues here? HELP!

I'm not a tech pro, but I think I've seen this issue before for HPA hopup/bucking issues. Your bucking might be too long, and when the bb feeds into the hopup it contacts the bucking. I would do a drop test, and look at how it's feeding. You can look into the mag well and shine a light in there and try and see if the bucking is sticking out too far. That's my best guess, but there's a ton of videos about feeding issues. It could be the gearbox too, if the Kythera is shifting around slightly it will cause feeding issues. It should be easy to fix, or you can bring it to an Airsoft shop and pay them $20 to check everything and fix the feeding issue.

Trigger/Sear adjustment screws have a 0.050" hex drive. This is typically the smallest wrench included in a standard Imperial allen wrench set. You cannot use a metric wrench for these adjustments for risk of damaging the screws.

Why is the v2 version rolling buckings and does it happen to the v2.5? I have the v2.5

Rolling a bucking can either be from the magazine not feeding quickly enough to push a BB up into the chamber before the nozzle comes back forward, or the lips of the bucking are sticking too far out into the feed tube so the BB is catching the lip and rolling it as it enters the chamber.

I have a kythera in my vfc mcx. It’s very picky with mags, I don’t get it. When I use epm mags I have feeding problems and it makes this farting noise every few shots randomly and I have to reset the trigger, sometimes my nozzle even gets stuck to the rear position.

Just ordered a similar build. First time I heard the words 'optical trigger' I simultaneously barfed and shat mine britches. True story bro, smell my finger. Hope it's extra crispy with the G&P flat stainless trigger. My finger only gets the best dude. Sure you don't wanna rip off this thing?? Umbrella's & GBLS DAS were options and I still went this route. Seems like the best option out there right now if you can tech and want something that feels real. Coming from a few years running stupidly high end GBBRs, even HPA'd through frame, I'm just looking for an accurate fat girl with a nice trigger to settle down with. I'm sick of these moody bishes acting like fools in front of my friends lmao.
