The series was good (tho' not as good as the original with Robin Ellis). All the female leads have the wrong hair colour. Elizabeth (and Morwenna) should be blond, Caroline should be a red head and Demelza should have dark hair according to the novels.

I've written to Mr. Jeff Bezos, owner and Chairman of Amazon ([e-mail]) and begged him to purchase the rights to Poldark and pick up production with the same actors as soon as their current commitments are done. There are many books not even opened yet. Season 5 was NOT from a Winston Graham book. I'm sure if enough fans wrote, the richest man in the world, who buys up everything, would buy up a pbs show. The fact that, in the books, Demelza has dark hair and Elizabeth has red hair is 100% true. Whoever made decesion to switch that was brilliant though. For this series, it worked perfectly!!

Ross striking gold would be awesome and showing his family enjoying abit of luxury if only for a while before loosing it all again :) And perhaps introducing more of Demelza's 6 brothers into the show (we have only met 2) I would also like to see George Warlegin re-married to a good woman, who perhaps becomes friends with Demelza and helps heal the wounds between their families?

Such a good series.. Sad part was when Elizabeth died after giving birth to baby Ursula..Demelza is great as a Firely Redhead..she is much better for Ross abie to work and walk beside her husband..I can't imagine Elizabeth being the Workerbee doing chores/Farm and Field work like Demelza did.....She was better with Francis and George..She was taken care of as Lady of The House..

Season 1 and 3 was his own hair almost all the way through. But season 2, 4 and 5 was a wig/extensions all the time. His own hair was much shorter during those seasons. It's also rumored that he had his tattoos removed a few years ago. I still enjoyed watching this tho 😊

The thing that amazed me the most, is the fact that Eleanor Tomlinson's hair color isn't really bright red. I know a family of Tomlinson's, and their hair color is as red as Demelza's. Besides, her skin color is very white, as is, the Tomlinson family's.

Eleanor is very humble, as I'm sure she is lovely with her natural caramel blonde hair as well, yet with her naturally big clear bright eyes and lovely fair skin, the bright red hair creates color contrasts so stunningly. However, the flaming red hair looked real on her, and fit the character, and she looked absolutely exquisite walking on the windy hilly horizons & beaches with her flowing long skirts & period costumes and her flowing long flaming red hair blowing in the wind; utterly stunning scenes with her whether shot up close or from the distance. A most excellent choice for her role!

I loved this show and wish it would go on forever! One note: the narrator claims Horace the pug dog was the only dog on the show. Demelza's dog, Garrick, appeared in the very first episode and showed up through all 5 seasons. However, according to the story's time line, Garrick would have been at least 20 years old when the show ends. Horace first appeared in Season 2 and would in theory also have been improbably elderly by the end of Season 5. Of course, in reality shooting didn't last more than 5 years, but it would be interesting to know if they used identical dogs for long days of filming, as they often use twins for very young child actors.
