Blues singer Johnny Young said ; " I'll climb the mountain , I'll swim the sea , I'll do any thing just to be with you ............just one more time................. (") now I like Johnny Young , I have been listening to him for forty eight years . I am strongly under the impression that he would do a lot of rather extraordinary things , including climbing a very tall pole just to be with her . all very commendable .

That's one sad race! I'm an OLD lineman and towerman, taught by the Army in '72 and trained for war zone pole and tower work (yep there was this little "police action" going on at the time but that was the lamest climb down I've ever seen? Lowered by a rope? ROFLMAO because watching a good climber cat walk DOWN in 10 foot or better steps IS the best part of a climbing competition. We called it a controlled fall to dodge bullets!

@Will Kelly First of all they're really not, it's a snails pace. Second of all you can have a rope and still descend in the standard fashion the majority of the distance if the belay device they're using was more fit for purpose (it's not) Thirdly the sling they use to climb grabs the pole if they fall and either slows them down significantly or arrests the fall completely. Finally Speed Pole Climbing Lumberjack World Championships 2021 kzbin.info/www/bejne/foPOn5yKo8mCl9U Definitely not 1967 there either.

These guys suck balls. Check out Stirling Hart from Canada if you want real climbing. No BS safety role crap either. This so called “competition” is an embarrassment for real climbers. They ought to rename this the Special Olympics of Climbing. Bloody reetard is probably better than these fucktwats

why use that fking thing they holding at? why not do it the real way rope is fine, but i would never do it with a rope neither the rope they holding to adjust their balance when the easly can do it if they hold tehir arms around the poll thing and why wear helmets? can the poll fall in their head and if so won't they just fall to the ground?
