Yes, POLE7645. You did marvelously, even getting the correct names for the enemies ("Deep One" instead of "fishman" or anything else along those lines). Well done, and thank you.

It was a truly amazing game, honestly I could never get beyond that to the library, but with your videos than i took can i go on and reach the end, thank you. I always wanted to finish the game because when I was 5 years I had it but it was a demo version, and recently i remembered the game and as I said before I got stuck. Thanks again! : 'D

Check some books again. Pregzt was shot down by soldiers, but he didn't died. Probably thanks to a pact with Cthulhu, he bound his soul to this tree thing. The pirate could be one of Pregzt's previous incarnation, but it could be one of the judges at Pregzt's trial.

I was under 10 when i played this game and i never couldn't finish it due to somekind of bug of which i couldn't kill the vagabond (i called him librarian) and because i didn't understand the half of what was written in all those books. This playtrough gave me answers to all my questions about this game.. and i didn't remember that the plot were so heavily inspired by Lovecraft! Thank you for doing this.

Wow, I never would've been able to combine so many things together... It's shocking how older games were so much more complex than contemporary shootin'/killin' games... These games forced their players to THINK, not just rumble around with a sub-machine gun and put a dozen holes in the pedestrians! Long live AITD!!

Yeah, these games no longer are frightening. But in 1991 (or was it 1992) when this first came out it scared the s#*t out of me. I would play this and be looking over my shoulder the whole time. And this was before Gamefaqs and stuff, so playing this blindly was terrifying.

I finally got to see the ending after all these years. I'm pretty sure my game was bugged somewhere at or just after the tree part and there were no patches back then. Maybe it had something to do with a tornado monster I had released earlier in the game and it showed up there and crashed the game, can't remember for sure. Anyway thanks.

That's a really hard part. Try to walk behind the sitting pirate, then to the rail of the ship. After that, walk to the right until you're across the hatch. Then you'll see a barrel near you, it's close to the pirates and between them there is the tinderbox. So carefully walk to the tinderbox and take it. You better do this part walking all time. Good luck!

The great thing about the game was that the story was solid for an old game, how can one go wrong with Lovecraft's mythos. I never was able to finish this game until a year ago, when I finally made a firm commitment to finish it. At first I thought I got a bad ending (that driver zombie laughing), but now it seems its the only ending. All in all great game, not many come nowadays in which you have to read.
@peckingforgoodTV16 жыл бұрын
do you know what makes me very angry about this. game stores have stopped selling retro games and we old schoolers can't find them anywhere. the fools they could have made a small fortune out of those games. selling at low prices means that more people would buy games which would mean more money am i right?
@cool434516 жыл бұрын
So the game ended with him doing a strange jump, leaving piano-less (the whole point he went in there for), and just about itemless (apart from a few things he picked up from there), and have some zombie in a taxi come from nowhere and pick him up and drive him away to somewhere.

Even with the disk version, you would have had a full translation of all the texts ;) I speak fluent French so I wasn't paying much attention to the subtitles. The few times I did, I thought you did an excellent job despite some occasional awkward sentence structures as well as minor spelling and grammar mistakes throughout.

I'd say 75%. The gameplay is great, but it's a bit short and I was hoping for more character interaction (a problem solved with the sequels). If they ever remake this, I'd like to have a two character "Resident Evil 2" style system where both character interact with each other, going into different paths (although the mansion is a bit small for this) since the sequel hits that they got out of this together.
