Thank you Pete. Well the engine noises were from rather posh looking boy racer type cars. I found them all up at Beachy Head on my way back. But I have done the TT course, funnily enough,. All the kind support fo rmy work is much apptreciated.

Thanks Roy. I used to have a Sony. Nowadays I use a Canon Legria or Panasonic HC-V180. Both are great cameras and both have remarkable zooms.

Best time of day to be in that area during the summer, lot less people. Havent been down to the Birling Gap Hotel for some years. Used to go when I worked at ESCC as they used it for training but as you say there was a front garden in those days, the 90s I suppose!

To be honest, Kerry.I'm not sure how safe to feel at Birlinjg Gap these days. There's a lot of fissures around there, any one of which could open up to a massive and potentially fatal rock fall. Obviously I would hope it is being properly monitored. Amazing though how much has been lost within OUR memories.

Those places of a better England that can be still seen must be cherished and taken care of. Thanks for sharing Bernie. TBH mate I've camped much closer to cliff tops, but took the time to recce it first to see potential hazards, you don't just perch there without doing a recce.

Thanks Mark. It's a pleasure to share these visits with folk who appreciate them.

8 cottages at one time I believe if I remember correctly thinking back to the 70's

Thanks for the comment and, yes, I think you are right. I seem to recall that the last two cottages to go were actually demolished rather than left to crumble, so as to negate the risk to the remaining ones. Quite shocking to see how close onmce again is the cliff edge.

Had that part of the cliff fallen down yet?
@stationmasterschoice-walku13079 күн бұрын
If you mean where the tent was, yes, there was a big fall a while ago.. The whole place is quite vulnerable really.
