POLICE BLOCKED BY BAD DRIVER - Armed & unmarked police cars responding at HIGH SPEED

Several Armed response vehicles from South Wales Police are seen responding at speed to an incident in Cardiff, using blue lights and sirens. Note the inattentive driver who pulls out from a junction in front of the emergency vehicles. All of these BMW X5 ARV's are no longer in service, having been replaced with the Volvo XC90's last year.
Also seen in the video are other emergency vehicles responding to incidents in and around various neighbourhoods of Cardiff; including lots of police vehicles and unmarked cars from South Wales Police, Fire engines from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (from Cardiff Central, Roath, Bridgend and Pontypridd stations), and Ambulances and a support unit from the Welsh Ambulance Service.

That ambulance at 03:37 is a long way from its base station. Surprised to see it in Cardiff especially in a SWP convoy.

How do you know where that particular ambo is based? Out of curiosity

@@alphatango1999 The call sign is above the driver CA319 - I work for the ambulance service and have driven that vehicle a few times. It's based in Neath Port Talbot so some 40 miles away. Hope that helps :)

Surprised to still see old X5s being used, most forces have now adopted XC90s. Good video :)

South wales police use only Volvo Xc90s now, these X5s are all no longer in service

2:21 Looked way to close to you! They almost ran you over 😂 It’s always hard when your filming in that middle bit of the road, since you don’t know if they need to cut across it.

Any particular reason why the police went for Volvos over Beemers? I guess our Australian equivalent of '"Armed response Units" would be SERT teams. All cops here are issued Glock handguns, but SERT teams use Hecker and Koch USPs and M4 Carbines. It's always easy to spot their unmarked Landcruiser LC200s with the roofracks, running boards and wrap around bullbars. Do British police use Lenco Bearcats ARVs too?

Driver literally didn’t do anything wrong. He completed his turn and then got out of the way.

Disagree. If he'd been paying due care and attention to the road he wouldn't have pulled out into the path of two responding emergency vehicles with blue lights and sirens activated in the first place...

@@dennislewis3745 He was paying attention. His traffic lights were green, and he is perfectly entitled to continue, which is safer than stopping in the middle of the road facing oncoming traffic. The X5s were approaching a red light and are therefore duty bound to slow down and ensure it is safe before proceeding through. Remember red lights are treated as a "give way", not "get out of the way im coming through", priority is given not taken.

He was a bit crap but nothing you wouldn't expect. The knob in the Chrysler people-carrier should be forced to retake their test however.

@@timwilks666 They honestly did nothing wrong. The police were bombing it towards the lights, one cannot just stop in a yellow box junction as soon as they've clocked an emergency vehicle, hence why they've finished the turn and then moved over. The Chrysler has done the correct and legal thing. He has moved over slightly, remaining behind the white line, and not proceeded through the red which would be illegal like the astra did. In conjunction with the white transit, they gave enough space for the police to move around.

Agreed the driver did nothing wrong. Police where going against a red light they must give way. Police are highly trained emergency response drivers and are trained for this occurring.
