It cost about $600 dollars per hour, give or take a hundred to fly a police helicopter around. So they wasted about $1200 on the heli alone chasing these kids for a basically a traffic infraction. Add up man hours, gas for ground vehicles ect. and they probably spent a minimum of $5000 on this "chase". It all comes down to ego tripping cops pissed because the kids ignored their commands then feeling disrespected which of course in a cops brain means chase them to the ends of the earth cost to tax payers and danger to the public be damned. Total waste of police resources and tax payers money.

Whoever designed the fuel tanks on these quads did a dam good job. These guys had enough fuel to not only ditch law enforcement on the ground but also law enforcement in the air. If you're gonna get into a police chase on your quad, you better make dam sure you got a full tank of fuel. The fact that it was getting dark was on their side too. I would fit some extra fuel tanks on my quad if I did that.

Ok the police in America are evidently scuffed but I have to admit, I’m jealous of the amount of land you have. In the uk every single inch of land is owned. Camping.. off-roading, unlicensed driving under 50cc’s on the side of roads. You lot can have fun compared to us!

The quads aren't even going fast, they wouldn't even send a car over to my house in Venice when a homeless bum was setting on my door step pushing the door in with my wife home alone. She told the police that she was sitting in the kitchen with a loaded pistol and if the man broke in she would shoot him! The police said well if you shoot him call us back and we'll send a car around!
