Seriously that I don’t understand, why the police start the chase and then they let it go? And when they are supposed to get closer, they give space to have a chance to scape? Como on, I am tired of that procedure, they just want to make more overtime to get more money.

Police departments have to extremely careful when conducting a chase. They’re putting the public at a huge risk which opens them up to multi million dollar lawsuits and the chance of killing bystanders. Dispatch and the officer who initially started the can and are legally obligated to call off the chase if bystanders are at serious risk at any point. Thankfully, the guy running wasn’t driving that wildly and they didn’t have to let him go. But they have to be very careful to not cause him drive wildly. It’s a tricky balance. Usually, the hope is that the person fleeing the police runs out of gas which very well might have happened here.
