That's some good advice. I got my Master's in criminal Justice but I wanted to work in the field instead of teaching. The whole year I focused on this goal. Cut people off, change my habits like getting up every morning at 5:30 to work out, and really put in the work needed. I'm not going to lie the hiring process is stressful because its times you can go for weeks and don't hear back but I was patient and it paid off. Was hired with my state police this month. Honesty is BIG, if your caught lying its over. No explaining yourself or nothing.

Physical fitness and mental health Is paramount. You also need to have excellent soft skills/good with people and a VERY thick skin. You will be called everything under the sun and some. People will bait you into doing something that may lead to serious legal fallout for you and the department you work for. If you can deal with that and remain professional you may do well as a police officer. Lastly, DO NOT do this job for the pay. LE pay is never on par with the amount of things an LE officer has deal with on a daily basis.

I feel like so so much positvety could come in the future from seeing this system work with mental health more you got them hearing murder confessions and plans their not aloud to warn people about and you have the biggest data base for determining the super important police skills your looking not hooked up to the computer like the paper work cant see what trained people can about the direction their heading it would be like having an interogation on a questionair witch from the results of temp agency tests actually work a degree but i think you get the point they could make each other jobs so much easier but their like at war over the cops who need to be and the healing thats only done through special treatment depending on the indivisual. The different level infractions is on the right track on think in the future I see it having huge success for all conserned by growing more complex than just the 3 different levels of court witch is again much better than 1 court for everone. Scare um straight stupid or smart...my philisoph aside def a good representation of a proffesional station.

In the Philippines you need to finish a four year degree and be a registered Criminologist in order to apply to the Philippine National Police or take the NAPOLCOM exam in order to qualify. It's pretty easy to apply to become a cop in the U.S here it's quite hard.

I don't have a degree cuz I don't have money for it but I keep trying and failing. I been trying for years to be a police officer and I been actively putting in applications. I have failed some PT test and passed some but I just never get the position and I have tried to join the Military to be an MP but failed basic training and I been trying but all I do is fail. My initial feeling after reading this is that it is either a troll or a young person who doesn't fully understand policing. Gun fights are not cool or fun. Certain people (that have been in gun fights) that think gun fights are cool, think that because there is an addicted; trauma affected part of your brain. That doesn't feel normal until you get shot at again and it gets to go back into its training/trained mentality. If the person who wrote the comment I am responding to is an adult, or God forbid a police officer. I recommend studying philosophy more and growing as a person. Also uncensored body worn camera footage.

Law enforcement officers should be required to have at minimum a bachelors degree with their major being law and their minor being sociology. This career comes with complete autonomy, power, weapons, strong union representation, with the ability to effectively change someone’s life, or take someone’s life and that should be taken as seriously as becoming a lawyer, MD, nurse, etc. Annual mandatory extensive psych evaluation, mental health assessment, physical exam, and de escalation techniques. End qualified immunity and require mandatory personal coverage insurance. Require community hours where they interact with the communities in which they serve. More training is required of a cosmetologist than a cop, and that’s absolutely ridiculous. When you invest time and money in your career you tend to take it seriously. The few months here and there are not sufficient enough to weed out the bad apples that are cops. Many times officers don’t even truly know the laws that they are enforcing.
