@@deadpanforlife8878 : Little late for an apology when you assault and seriously injure someone. If he gave one it wouldn't likely be sincere unless his lawyer tells him to do one as a plea-bargain tool to impress the court for probation or a light prison sentence. This young guy is overdue to learn accountability for his behavior. It's a shame when an 18 year old goes to prison, but maybe that's the wake up call he needs.

Great to have sports however football has been revered to many years and has allowed players to get away with poor behavior, rape, preferential treatment on and off the field. In the end football is nothing compared to life. Fun Fact: The player who allegedly assaulted the referee in this incident was arrested by the Edinburg P.D. in March of 2022 after being found asleep in his vehicle on a roadway. According to police the odor of marijuana in the vehicle lead to search where plastic bags containing 6 grams of cocaine were discovered. He was then charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, which is a second-degree felony in Texas carrying a potential prison sentence of 5-99 years and a fine of up to $10,000. This is not new in Texas Football. When you hold up athletes more than scholars then that makes people arrogant. The coaching staff is to blame IMO. As a coach I would have pushed him to ground not calmed him down. He was hurting the team. They seemed like they were just supporting a team mate who was in a fight instead of someone who did a criminal act on a defenseless person.

My coach would have tackled anyone of us if we did what this THUG did!! And then scream for the nearest cop to give him a set of cuffs!!! (And I'm D@mn sure that he would have been a witness against any of us who did this!)

It's not new, but it's happening in the southern areas of the state and committed by non talent. It doesn't happen by kids at Dallas SOC, or Duncanville, a player with an actual future

Wonder if that was his parents screaming before the hit. This was a home game for Edinburg and the crowd was like, "oh sh!t!!!" as he bolted to the ref. Disgusting thing to watch.

Poor ref, dude could of been seriously hurt. 😕 Dude really messed up any chance of college ball if he had intentions of it or playing another down period.

@@vjohnso2 nah. that dude would have met some real men in college ball. This dude doesn't have what it takes from the mental side. He's gonna be working the grill at McDonald's for the rest of his life. Privileged little shit-sniffer.

Hard to imagine this kid ever becoming a fine, upstanding member of society. Gotta figure parenting played a role.

He showed great technique. The leverage and power was phenomenal. The ref is not a small person, but he was airborne for about a whole second. Yet this is not how to do it. Bad job kid💯
